00:05 We have also defined it as a silent pandemic as a scientific society,
00:10 because the numbers are really impressive and the consequences in every age group are really terrible.
00:16 And above all, the forms of hypoacousis are increasing.
00:19 One and a half billion in the world, so it is really a very important topic.
00:23 It is very important to take care of it and to do a lot of prevention, prevention that is different,
00:30 of course, depending on the age group, but for those who are adults, for example,
00:35 great, very great attention to noise is harmful, because noise is certainly one of the main causes
00:42 that can contribute to deteriorating hearing.
00:45 Attention to many drugs, always asks, when a medical prescription is made, can I use this drug or is it harmful to hearing?
00:55 Because there are very often alternatives, but I would say above all to the first symptoms,
01:00 to the first warnings of hearing difficulties or even of symptoms such as a cough,
01:05 here to show up, talk to your doctor, consult a specialist.
01:10 It is a silent pandemic precisely because little is said about it,
01:15 demonstrations like today's one instead make a clamor and therefore it is right,
01:20 the initiatives are really very, very favorable because if there is talk about it, there is no fear,
01:27 the stigma must be absolutely defeated.
01:30 I have personally treated many people, many in sight,
01:35 who wear hearing aids in cochlear implants without any remora,
01:41 it is much more dramatic, the opposite case, that instead,
01:44 so as not to run the risk of stigmatization,
01:48 we isolate ourselves by going against all those sequels of isolation, depression and even cognitive decline in the advanced age.
01:56 So let's go out, let's feel no fear of wearing a hearing aid or showing your hearing difficulty.
