00:39 Craig's story was one of many reasons why Fallout New Vegas is the most revered in the
00:47 franchise.
00:49 First off, the guy is one of the best shots in the entire game.
00:52 Lord knows most of us weren't exactly dumping points into rifles.
00:56 Secondly, he has a simple yet gripping story surrounding his wife's disappearance that
01:00 leans hard into Fallout's more tragic side.
01:04 And should he die at any point, you'll have the chance to read a heartbreaking letter
01:09 that serves as a sad end to his story.
01:12 For as hilarious as Fallout can be, Craig was a good vehicle to tell something that
01:16 was more dramatic.
01:21 Dogmeat
01:26 Of course we gotta include Dogmeat on this list.
01:29 It's Dogmeat, you know, a vault dweller's best friend.
01:32 Look, we aren't exactly going to choose a specific one, they're all good boys.
01:36 But the best part about Dogmeat, aside from the animal companionship, is just how helpful
01:41 he can be.
01:42 In addition to attacking enemies in combat, he can sniff out resources and special items
01:47 that you may have overlooked.
01:48 Besides, the little puppo looks adorable in just about whatever armor you deck him out
01:53 with.
01:58 Lily Bowen
02:09 Lily definitely leans into the weirder, more surreal aspects of Fallout.
02:13 We all know super mutants to be loud and murderous psychopaths, no different to the fantastical
02:18 Ork.
02:19 So, imagine our confusion and disbelief when we came across this sweet old lady taking
02:25 care of her horribly mutated cattle.
02:27 But one benefit of having her around is that she can show you a thing or two about stealth.
02:32 We just worry about the things that this Leo might be telling her to do.
02:50 Nick Valentine
03:03 Nick Valentine is one of the more fascinating characters of Fallout 4.
03:06 A robot detective?
03:08 Scratch that, a robot detective who holds the memories of a completely different being?
03:13 It is a strange predicament to be in, and his desire to avenge the person before his
03:18 creation is a noble and perplexing one.
03:21 What's more fascinating are the thoughts his story brings to the table.
03:25 Questions of destiny, grudges, past vs present, and the dilemmas of using robots like synths
03:31 to preserve those who have long since passed.
03:34 And hey, those stats he's got?
03:35 They ain't too shabby either.
03:46 Fox
03:55 Here we have another example of not all mutants being horrible beasts of the wasteland.
04:01 Fox provides an interesting glimpse into the world of a mutant as he was casted out by
04:05 his own kind.
04:07 Shockingly, this has actually had a positive effect on his mind as he thinks clearly and
04:12 more reasonably than his brethren.
04:14 He also serves as a good balance for those who are into ranged weaponry.
04:18 Nothing is funnier than seeing him rush in while you're firing away and turning your
04:22 foes into minced meat.
04:29 Rose of Sharon Cassidy
04:39 Although Cassidy may not have stats as impressive as other Fallout companions that came before
04:44 and after, she's a companion we'd love to have around as much as possible.
04:48 Even after all the terrible events of the war and her caravan getting ambushed by a
04:53 competitor, she still maintains an attitude that's real, blunt, and occasionally funny.
04:58 Plus, she can quickly become a deadly ally should you choose to go through her set of
05:02 quests as her perks focus on buffing her damage threshold and damage with guns.
05:23 There are plenty of robots to recruit as companions or temporary allies in the Fallout games.
05:28 Eddie is a prime example of why they're worth your investment.
05:31 Sure, this iBot doesn't exactly have a story to invest in, but the perks are worth having
05:36 him around.
05:37 Enhanced sensors will let him detect enemies further than most characters, which is a good
05:42 way of preventing a raider from flanking you.
05:45 Comraderie, on the other hand, which was only featured in the Lonesome Road DLC, sees both
05:50 you and Eddie gaining bonus stats from collecting circuit boards used to further upgrade him.
05:55 This little guy can do big things, so don't underestimate him.
06:10 We're really showing the Super Mutants some love, and Marcus is deserving of that love.
06:28 In all honesty, he is one of the coolest characters in the franchise.
06:31 No, it's not because of the minigun.
06:34 Not to recycle the same thing we like about Fox, but Marcus is notable because of how
06:38 it shows the problems mutants face.
06:41 While most of our interactions with mutants are through fights for survival, Marcus is
06:46 trying to rebuild and help bring civility back to his kind.
06:50 He wants to change things and work with those who haven't succumbed to mutation.
06:54 And most importantly, he's a leader who cares for his allies.
07:04 Piper Wright
07:16 Piper quickly shows that she doesn't care if the world has been blown to hell.
07:19 She'll take on anyone and anything in the fight for truth and justice.
07:24 And that's hotter than any ounce of TNT we've dealt with.
07:28 Getting back on track though, Piper has a level of tenacity and bravery few can match,
07:33 and she's also someone we can easily relate to.
07:35 There are times where we've felt isolation hit a little harder than most days, and when
07:39 it comes to searching for truth, life can get frustrating sometimes.
07:43 Piper's story is unfortunately still relatable today, and it's why she is one of the more
07:48 resonating aspects of Fallout 4.
08:03 Veronica Santangelo
08:16 This sweetheart is just the best companion in the entire franchise.
08:21 Or maybe that's just my love for Felicide showing.
08:25 This woman braves the Mojave Wasteland every day alongside the Brotherhood of Steel, and
08:30 wants to learn more from others.
08:32 She's someone who wants to feel some restoration within her soul, as a human, and she wants
08:37 to help humanity feel that same revival.
08:40 Gameplay-wise, she's great at crafting things at a moment's notice, and beefing up both
08:44 yours and her melee damage.
08:46 She's a keeper through and through.
