00:00 Would you look who just got sentient on Saturday morning? Here's a look at the
00:04 NECA toys Toonie Terrors Megan.
00:08 Bring the fun of Saturday morning cartoons to your horror collection with
00:22 the adorable little creeps of Toonie Terrors. NECA's line of stylized horror
00:26 icons. Standing at approximately six inches tall, the Megan figure joins the
00:30 Toonie Terrors line. The figure comes in blister card packaging with bonus cutout
00:35 backdrop. Cutting up the rug and a boss while she's at it. Before of course we
00:39 get a closer look at the new Toonie Terrors Megan, the tape measure is in
00:42 fact telling us that she stands at about four and a half inches in height or she's
00:46 about 12 centimeters tall. Seeing as we are after all looking at a killer doll,
00:50 let's bring in the original Toonie Terrors Chuckie and his booked-in bride
00:53 Tiffany on the other side. I think first of all this is a reminder to us of how
00:57 long overdue we are of a brand new Chuckie Toonie Terror release. One that
01:01 doesn't necessarily need to have his bride tag along. I think in fact we
01:04 probably get ourselves a new Chuckie from maybe a Child's Play 1 or a Child's
01:07 Play 2 where I think based on what they're doing now with the much better
01:10 looking head sculpts on these Toonie Terror releases, a brand new Chuckie would
01:14 be well received. The figures are from a size standpoint. I don't know how
01:18 accurate this would be. I mean obviously the ones on either side are a lot
01:21 smaller figures with very more limited articulation. The newer Megan not only
01:25 has a better looking sculpt but she has much better articulation than some of
01:29 the earlier Toonie Terrors. Megan's sole accessory is the guillotine blade she
01:34 rips off the paper cutter during her dance number. Now I have used many paper
01:37 cutters in my years and don't kid yourself those things are quite deadly
01:40 but not deadly as deadly perhaps as the one that's been bought here for this
01:44 office. I mean I don't know how thick this paper needs to be but the one that
01:48 she rips off looks like she's now wielding a machete. It's nicely been
01:52 molded here in gray plastic and usually is the case when we get these Toonie
01:55 Terror accessories they add a nice little bit of reflection. It's actually
01:58 on both sides of it while the handle has been painted in a nice chestnut brown. It
02:03 can be in her hand although it's only going to be in this hand. The other hand
02:06 is just a relaxed hand. Now you'll notice that I've got the figure displayed with
02:09 her with her arms back. The way they've actually posed her you can kind of see
02:13 she's leaning a little bit front forward like this. If you kind of have the arms
02:17 back like the way I have right now it sort of can throw off or kind of
02:21 counterbalance some of the stability issues that she may have. Though you can
02:25 take the the blade and just fit that into her hand like this it just slides
02:29 fairly easily in place and then you can have the figure displayed with it. But if
02:33 you have the figure say forward with her arms it does you know she still stands
02:37 but you can see like she gets a little more front heavy. I think honestly the
02:41 easiest thing is just to kind of have the arms back a little bit and that
02:44 seems to balance her just a little bit better. Don't worry though she does also
02:47 have a peg hole in the bottom of her feet and even though she doesn't really
02:50 come in clue with a display stand I just happen to have myself a black DC logo
02:54 black Mega NECA stand just off to the side here. I think this actually came in
02:58 clue with one of the other Toonie Terrors although its identity remains
03:01 unknown right now at least for me. Just plugs on to the bottom of her feet just
03:04 like that. Yeah if you did want to use yourself a display stand just to give a
03:08 little bit more stability. I'm just using one that came in clue with one of the
03:10 Toonie Terrors. You could use another one from NECA and just plug on to the
03:14 bottom of her feet. I don't think that the size for her hole is smaller that it
03:18 wouldn't accommodate a regular NECA display stand so I'm just having to use
03:22 the one that just came in clue with one of the Toonie Terrors. Again I don't know
03:25 which exactly which one it was but yeah it does give her a little bit more
03:29 stability when it comes to her standing. The thing about the figure though is
03:32 because her legs are displayed the way that they are, sure yes there is some
03:36 additional articulation that we'll talk more about in a moment so if you wanted
03:39 to get her in more of that dance number pose you could do it but it's gonna come
03:42 at the risk of how how well you're gonna be able to get the figure to stand. You
03:45 sort of always have to have kind of her dress leaning back like this or having
03:49 her back leaning back where the front of her dress is kind of leaning forward
03:52 like this to kind of give her you know get a little bit more stable a stable
03:56 stance. For the head sculpt though I do really like the way that Megan turned
03:59 out here. I mean again it looks a little bit more realistic of a head sculpt
04:04 than maybe what we've gotten with earlier Toonie Terrors. Progressively,
04:07 progressively NECA has gotten better with these Toonie Terror releases. I mean some
04:11 of the recent ones like the Re-Animator for example had a really stellar looking
04:14 sculpt but if you date back to like some of the earliest stuff we just brought
04:18 like Chucky in for example as a comparison. Here, here's Chucky right here
04:21 for example. Chucky definitely has a much more dated look to the head sculpt. More
04:25 simplified on the design for the head, certainly simpler when it comes to the
04:29 paint as well. Megan definitely does have more of the colors accurate to that of
04:32 the movie. Nice long curly hair in the front, softer plastic also here as well
04:37 so even though the hair is gonna be a little more in the way of things you
04:40 can still easily rotate the head back. We'll talk more about the articulation
04:43 in a second but really nice looking head sculpt. I do hope at some point we get a
04:47 battle damage version where she has of course the mangled face that she gets in
04:50 the later end of the movie. I hope we do get that as an eventual release of a
04:54 Toonie Terror. The dress is nicely done here. It's got that nice pastel sort of
04:58 cream color that she has for the dress. Sort of the mint striped tie that she
05:02 has in the blue and the red and the white and nice striped sleeves down the
05:05 side as well. You know again even though she has pretty much the standard
05:09 level of articulation for Toonie Terror and that usually is like ball joints for
05:13 the head, the shoulders and all that, one thing was nice to see is the fact that
05:16 she did actually have some additional articulation for the torso because what
05:19 they could have really only just done is just made this staction where like the
05:22 top of the dress was attached to the lower half of her body where you wouldn't be
05:26 able to move it back and forth but it does seem like they've put in a ball
05:29 joint so you can't sway it back and forth. The thing about it though is again
05:32 any little swaying back and forth does throw off the balance of her. I do wish
05:37 that if at the very least they could have included a display stand so that
05:40 you didn't necessarily need to start pulling from ones you have from before
05:43 just so that you know again if you wanted to get her in a little more of a
05:47 dance pose number like if you want to bring her head forward like this just
05:50 kind of lean her off to the side like this you could pull it off but yeah not
05:53 by not including a display stand I think is maybe where the figure suffers the
05:57 most. Now for her articulation it is going to be that she has a ball joint so
06:01 you can rotate the head back and forth up down and again you can rock it
06:06 back and forth this way. Arms do rotate all the way around. She does also have
06:10 hand articulation too which was something also I really was pleasantly
06:13 surprised to see. This hand also does swivel back and forth there as well so
06:17 right there alone you have one point there in the head two in the shoulders
06:20 two in the hands so there's five but then a surprise as well to see that she
06:24 also had the ball joint here where you can move the the top of the waist all
06:28 the way around so again you can have the back you can have the torso leaning back
06:32 like this you can have a lean forward you can also rock it back and forth as
06:35 well. There is no leg articulation there's no ankle articulation. One thing
06:40 is I noticed is that the ankles are pretty soft or the legs as a whole are
06:43 pretty soft and plastic. Paint's pretty good other than I've got one little
06:47 marking right here it kind of looks like she's been bit by a vampire. Two little
06:51 fanged teeth. I don't think it's supposed to be on the character not that I missed
06:54 maybe I missed something in the movie where Megan just happens to have two
06:57 spots on the sides of her leg there nowhere to be found anywhere else so I'm
07:01 thinking it's probably just came off the factory just with a little bit of paint
07:03 problem and again like really nicely painted shoes there as well like the
07:07 figures painted really well the only thing I would say though is that she has
07:11 a little bit of stance standing issues again you can bring the arms back just a
07:15 little bit that really honestly just by bringing the arms back can really help
07:19 the to you know counterbalance the fact that the figure is gonna have a little
07:22 bit more stance issues and again like you can rock her back and forth but by
07:27 even just having the arms always in a back position like this is really the
07:30 best way to ensure that the figure is not gonna fall forward unless unless you
07:34 just happen to have yourself a display stand I still wish I could actually
07:37 remember which toonyter I pillaged this from because I have so many of these but
07:40 yeah you could also use this one you could also use yourself a neck a
07:43 display stand nice-looking Megan though I really like the way that this one
07:46 turned out a good strong actual wave of toonyter's that we've been looking at in
07:50 upcoming reviews this toonyter wave also happens to feature the fiend and also
07:55 features the tar man so a lot of good stuff that we're gonna be looking at
07:58 some upcoming reviews but if you are a big fan though of Megan and really like
08:01 the way that she looked in the movie I like the way that this one did turn out
08:04 I do hope fingers crossed fingers crossed oh there she goes taking a
08:07 tumble I do hope though that at some point we get ourselves a battle damage
08:10 release of this I can't imagine that really neck would have to do all that
08:13 much different than what we already get right now keeping probably the body
08:16 about the same and just mangling up the face just a little bit nicer I don't
08:20 know I think if you're gonna get a toonyter with as the exaggerated of a
08:23 posture as Megan at the very least they could have come include with display
08:26 stand now thinking that and wondering if maybe I may have overlooked something I
08:30 went back to the packaging and sure enough wouldn't you know it no she
08:35 didn't come in the display stand what she has at least though is the next best
08:39 thing she has one pickle on the underside of one of her heels and even
08:42 though she doesn't have one you could use a display stand that NECA has
08:46 released if you've bought yourself like a stack of those I have a stack of those
08:49 I just happen to use one from a toonyter for the meantime but you could use a
08:53 naked display stand luckily she does have a universally sized hole in the
08:57 bottom of her feet I mean it would be really big of a bummer if she had a
09:00 smaller hole than that but you would then think if she had a smaller hole in
09:04 bottom of her heel then she would have also come with a very unique display
09:07 stand sadly like I said she doesn't come in
09:09 clue with one you have to unfortunately have to figure kind of always in a pose
09:12 where the arms are further back kind of does throw off kind of counterbalances
09:16 some of the stability issues that she has with the posture that she has for
09:19 the lower legs the lower legs though I mean I do wish that they were a little
09:23 bit straighter but it's not a deal-breaker I mean you can't get the
09:26 figure to stand to me hey right I don't even have to figure on a display stand
09:28 right now and I've got her rotating on a turntable so it is doable you can't get
09:33 her to stand you just have to kind of tweak a little bit of the pose that you
09:36 got the figure displayed now well I may have to hold out unfortunately a
09:40 mangled face for Megan when it comes to toonyter release anybody that's probably
09:44 been following this online already know we are gonna be getting an ultimate
09:47 release of Megan that is in fact going to come in clue with an alternate head
09:50 portrait super excited for that we are also going to be getting a sequel for
09:54 Megan so if you haven't had your fill for this killer doll and certainly want
09:57 to see more we are gonna be in a sequel for that and hey you know the future may
10:01 be bright for Megan at maybe some point she might even find herself being in a
10:05 versus movie with Chucky could you even imagine that I know they sort of a phone
10:09 that around as a rumor online I think the likelihood of that probably
10:12 happening is probably slim to none but you can imagine a Megan and Chucky
10:16 team-up movie or even a good guy good guy versus whatever Megan end up being a
10:21 collaboration between the two companies that's probably never gonna happen it's
10:24 just more wishful fan fiction than anything else but what do you guys think
