00:00 Happy Friday to all of us, I am Benison Estareja.
00:04 The effects of three weather systems in our country are still continuing.
00:08 First is the Amihan or North-East Monsoon which is still affecting the northern and central Luzon.
00:14 While the Easter Leaves or the wind from the Pacific Ocean
00:18 is still bringing hot weather to the southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
00:23 Our shear line or the line where the cold Amihan and hot Easter Leaves meet
00:29 is still affecting the central and southern Luzon.
00:33 But it is expected that it will also disappear by the afternoon.
00:36 Based on our latest satellite animation, we have cloud clusters along the equator
00:41 but it is not showing any effect in our country.
00:44 It is not expected to be a low-pressure area or a storm.
00:48 For today, we are still expecting a dark weather in the provinces of Aurora, Quezon and Camarines Norte
00:55 which will be accompanied by heavy rain, light to moderate rains and possible thunderstorms
01:00 from morning to afternoon.
01:01 It is the effect of the shear line or the line of hot and cold wind.
01:05 So bring an umbrella if you are going out of your house.
01:08 For our fellow countrymen in the north, particularly in Batanes and Cagayan,
01:13 we are also expecting a dark weather which will be accompanied by light rain
01:17 along the North-East Monsoon.
01:19 While for our fellow countrymen for the rest of Cagayan Valley,
01:22 a large part of Cordillera Region, Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon,
01:27 it will be affected by the cold, a part of the cloudy sky
01:31 which is accompanied by isolated or short-term thunderstorms.
01:35 For our fellow countrymen here in Metro Manila,
01:37 a part of Calabarzon, rest of Bicol Region and a large part of Mimaropa,
01:43 a part of the cloudy sky is being affected.
01:45 So sometimes, the weather is changing and the sun is still showing.
01:49 But because of Easter, it will be hot and a bit cloudy in a large part of it,
01:54 especially in the part of Camarinas Sur and Maspate.
01:57 In Metro Manila, our temperature is from 23 to 32 degrees Celsius
02:02 while it remains cold in Baguio from 14 to 23 degrees Celsius.
02:08 For our fellow countrymen in Palawan, the chance of rain is still low
02:12 and the clear sky will be affected.
02:15 While here in Visayas, it's still early and there's a chance of rain.
02:20 Light to moderate rains are only in the glip.
02:22 Here in the southern Leyte and eastern Samar.
02:25 And for the rest of Visayas, it's partly cloudy to cloudy skies.
02:29 There's also a chance of rain in the afternoon
02:32 in a large part of Panay Island and Negros Provinces.
02:36 Here in Metro Cebu, our temperature is up to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:40 But there are still places where it's possible to experience
02:43 a high heat index of between 38 to 39 degrees Celsius
02:47 including Iloilo, Roja City in Capiz, Baybay Leyte, and Catbalogan, Samar.
02:54 Lastly, for our fellow countrymen in Mindanao,
02:56 it's still early and there's a chance of rain.
02:59 And there are low rains here in the eastern sides,
03:02 Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur
03:05 because it's in the Easter lease.
03:07 And the rest of Mindanao is partly cloudy to cloudy skies.
03:10 There's still a chance of sunny skies until noon.
03:13 But by noon, it will be hot and foggy
03:16 and some places will still experience a 39 to 40 degrees heat index
03:21 or will feel hot.
03:23 Like Zamboanga City, Cotabato City, and Davao City.
03:27 And there's also a chance of heavy rain.
03:30 Our temperature here in Metro Davao is from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:34 That's the actual temperature.
03:37 Because of the continuous cooling of our ocean,
03:40 we expect that the majority of our country will be in slight to moderate seas over the weekend.
03:45 But then, it's still a bit risky for the northern and eastern sides of our country,
03:49 these places facing the Pacific Ocean plus extreme northern zone
03:53 up to 2.8 meters or almost one floor of the house above the waves.
03:58 It's still a bit dangerous for small sea vessels
04:01 and especially for our fellow fishermen.
04:04 In the coming days, we don't expect any gale warning or sea travel suspensions.
04:09 And like what we mentioned earlier,
04:11 we expect the northern and eastern zone to be weaker in the next three days.
04:16 By tomorrow, it's possible that only the northern zone will be affected
04:20 while the extreme northern zone and the eastern zone will be affected
04:25 by the end of Monday.
04:28 In Metro Manila, for the next three days,
04:30 we don't expect any gale warning or strong rainstorms.
04:34 But we expect the hot and humid weather to last until 32 degrees Celsius.
04:39 But the heat index is between 36 to 38 degrees Celsius.
04:43 The chance of rain is still low if there are only thunderstorms.
04:47 Here in the Cordillera region,
04:50 for the next three days,
04:53 there are chances of light rainstorms until the afternoon.
04:57 But for the rest of the day, there are chances of clouds and sometimes of sun.
05:01 While in the Bicol region, as the Gaspi City,
05:04 the Mayon Volcano is often exposed.
05:06 And there are chances of clouds and sun for the next three days.
05:11 For our fellow citizens in Visayas,
05:13 the hot and humid weather will still last.
05:15 It's still the tip of the Easter list or the wind from the Pacific Ocean.
05:19 Some of the affected areas of the heat index
05:22 that are between 38 to 40 degrees Celsius
05:24 are still a large part of Panay Island.
05:26 Negros, Occidental, and Samar provinces.
05:29 Here in Metro Cebu, the chances of rain are still low.
05:33 There are only isolated rain showers until the afternoon of Sunday.
05:37 And here in the western and eastern sides of Visayas,
05:42 especially in Metacloban City,
05:43 there are chances of rainstorms until the afternoon and evening of Sunday and Monday.
05:49 And lastly, for our fellow citizens in Mindanao,
05:52 the chances of rainstorms and hot weather will still be low.
05:57 It's still the tip of the Easter list or the wind from the Pacific Ocean.
06:01 Some of the affected areas will still be exposed to clouds.
06:04 For most of the eastern sides of Mindanao,
06:07 the Caraga and Davao regions,
06:09 for the rest of Mindanao, it's mostly partly cloudy skies
06:12 or there will be sun for the next three days.
06:15 And there are still chances of heat,
06:16 especially in Zamboanga City, Jensan, Cotabato City, and Davao City.
06:21 For our fellow citizens in Visayas and Mindanao,
06:25 always drink water for the next three days because it will still be hot.
06:28 Avoid going out of the house from 10am to 3pm.
06:31 But if you can't avoid it,
06:32 bring a heater like an umbrella, hat, and wear thin or comfortable clothes.
06:39 Our sunrise is 6.04 in the morning, sunset 6.06 in the evening.
06:44 That's all for the latest from the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa.
06:48 I'm Benny Son, S. Tarayhana, saying always,
06:51 "Pagasa is a good solution."
