00:00Good morning to all. This is the latest weather update for Tuesday, August 20, 2024.
00:07Let's start with our latest satellite image.
00:10At the moment, we are being watched by a low-pressure area
00:13that was entered by our Philippine Air Responsibility at 8 p.m. last night.
00:17Although we can see that it is far from our country.
00:20As of 3 a.m., it was last seen at a distance of 1,030 kilometers east-northeast of the extreme northern zone.
00:27And as we can see in the satellite image, the low-pressure area is not good for the clouds.
00:32So, the chance of it becoming a typhoon is low.
00:35And it is far from our country.
00:37So, we are not expecting a direct effect on any part of our continent.
00:42Meanwhile, what is still affecting other parts of our country
00:47is the southwest monsoon or hanging habagat that is affecting the northern zone,
00:52particularly the extreme northern zone area.
00:55Although, as we can see in the satellite image,
00:58we can see some clouds, but most likely, they will not last long.
01:01These are the clouds.
01:02So, most likely, when the afternoon comes, the weather will be clear.
01:06And when the afternoon or night comes, there are chances of localized thunderstorms.
01:11So, for the rest of the country, including Metro Manila,
01:14we are still expecting a hot afternoon or a hot weather today.
01:18The chances of sudden or short-term rainfall are low.
01:23And for the next few days, at the very least, for the next two to three days,
01:27we are monitoring this low-pressure area.
01:29We are not expecting it to affect any part of our country.
01:34And we expect that until the upcoming weekend,
01:37the hot weather will continue in a large part of our continent,
01:41except for the chances of localized thunderstorms
01:44that are more common in the afternoon or night.
01:48As for the weather conditions today,
01:51here in Luzon, as we saw in the satellite image earlier,
01:54although we can see some clouds,
01:56we are not expecting that the clouds we saw earlier will last long.
02:01So, when the afternoon comes, we are still expecting a hot weather
02:04and the chances of localized thunderstorms
02:07will still be possible when it comes to the afternoon or night.
02:11So, during severe thunderstorms,
02:13there is a possibility that we will experience heavy rainfall.
02:16So, it is better to wear raincoats or to avoid the rain.
02:21As for the temperature in the neighboring cities here in Luzon,
02:24for Lawag, it will be around 25 to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:28For Baguio, it will be around 18 to 25 degrees.
02:31For Metro Manila, the temperature will be around 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
02:37We are also expecting a maximum temperature of 33 degrees Celsius here in Tuguegarao.
02:42For Legazpi, it is possible to reach 34 degrees Celsius.
02:45And for Tagaytay, the temperature will range from 24 to 32 degrees Celsius.
02:53We are also expecting the same weather conditions in the rest of the country.
02:58Generally, we are expecting fair weather conditions.
03:00The only difference is the chances of sudden or quick rainfall
03:05of localized thunderstorms.
03:06These thunderstorms are possible to last for 15 minutes to 2 hours.
03:12As for the water temperature,
03:14the temperatures in the neighboring cities here in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
03:19our maximum temperatures in Kalayaan Island will reach 32 degrees Celsius.
03:2333 degrees for Puerto Princesa.
03:26For Iloilo, it will range from 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:3126 to 32 degrees Celsius for Metro Cebu.
03:34For Tacloban, it will be 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.

03:49As for the sea conditions,
03:52we do not have a gale warning at the moment.
03:54The waves will be in the middle of the sea.
03:58That is why our countrymen are far away,
04:01especially those who have small sea vehicles.
