00:00 Bruce has heard a code word and now thinks he's Kenner. Here's a look at the
00:04 brand-new McFarlane toys DC superpowers Batman from Zoran R.
00:09 Bruce Wayne took part in an isolation experiment and was given the
00:24 post-hypnotic phrase Zoran R. When heard by Bruce years later the trigger
00:28 phrase shatters his mind Batman had previously developed a new persona
00:32 within himself calling himself the Batman of Zoran R. While Bruce is
00:37 creating alter egos this original ego would like to thank the folks over at
00:40 McFarlane toys that kindly provided this sample of Batman from Zoran R that we
00:44 could have a look at this review. The figure is a little bit taller as it's
00:47 using a different Batman that you would expect. He's actually about four and a
00:50 half inches in height where Batman from Zoran R is about 12 centimeters tall.
00:54 Serving up to you now. Not on a silver platter though I just don't have the
00:57 budget for a silver platter is a Batman of a similar size. The Batman from Zoran R
01:01 just happens to be using the same mold as the first wave Batman we got
01:04 from superpowers and I think honestly it was smart on Todd McFarlane's part to
01:07 dust off the mold for this release because it was a fine Batman it just
01:11 wasn't as good as the classic looking Batman we got a little bit later. Now I
01:14 will say though that this body works really well for movie time figures. We
01:18 get an all-black release of this Batman that's kind of more tied into like the
01:21 89 Batman movie. We're also getting a gold variant of this one that's going to
01:25 be part of this wave. We will be looking at an upcoming review. So this classic
01:28 Batman has a place to stick with kind of that design of Batman but I think for
01:32 different iterations I think it's still there's life to be made in this
01:35 particular mold. I'm glad to see that they decided to go this route instead of
01:39 this one here. Bring in some other Batman family members. Here's what he looks like
01:42 with Nightwing. Nightwing always has a hard time to stand because his legs are
01:45 stupid together like this. Here's what he also looks like as well with Robin and
01:48 here's speaking of different iterations of Batman the Batman who laughs. Now
01:53 here's the but. Because the figure is using that first wave Batman it does
01:57 mean as well that he's gonna be molded with closed fists so the figure has no
02:01 accessories whatsoever. If you would consider it though to be an accessory
02:04 the Batman from Zordon does technically come included with a cape. The
02:08 cape though if you were to look at this just has that C loop to it and that just
02:12 fits over top of his body. I don't think though that this is metal. It could very
02:15 well be wrong but it just fits over top of his neck just like this. It just clips
02:19 in place and you get yourself a nice flowing fabric cape. The fabric material
02:23 I don't know if I've already commended them for using this type of material but
02:26 the material does feel good like it's a good quality stretchy material. It gets
02:30 bunched up from time to time but like the actual material that they use is
02:33 pretty good. Unfortunately though I don't know if the material has resulted in
02:37 staining the side of his yellow arms. Can't help but notice there's a little
02:40 bit of smudging here to the side. It could either be from the red paint on
02:44 the front or it could be some stainage resulting from the cape actually finding
02:48 its way. As you'll notice it's also on the other side as well so this is
02:52 something you'll probably want to be aware of if you're picking this figure
02:54 up for yourself that the yellow plastic will probably absorb some of the purple
02:58 paint or the purple dye that they put in the actual material. Other than that
03:02 though getting a closer look at the head sculpt again to bring back in the first
03:07 wave Batman so you guys can see they are using the exact same head. They haven't
03:10 tooled anything differently this time around although they have added nicely
03:14 this darker patch of black on the front of his cowl. The ears are placed in
03:18 exactly the same way and you'll notice that the bodies are identical to one
03:21 another. The only thing that they have changed differently of course is
03:24 changing the color of the plastic for his cowl, changing now swapping out the
03:27 gray for the yellow on the arms and I'm now giving him a red torso instead of
03:31 the gray. I like the symbol that they've put on the front it's somewhat in the
03:35 middle it looks like it's kind of just leaning a little on an angle and they've
03:38 also got a little symbol there on the front is a utility belt. Still it's the
03:41 original utility belts they haven't molded anything different there. Still
03:44 nice-looking figure though. I really like the cowl and while I did think that
03:48 maybe the coloring of the cape not being quite close to the coloring of the
03:52 gloves and the coloring of the trunks would bother me more but I think that
03:55 the lighter color works a little bit better and just stands out I feel just a
03:58 little bit more. Down below of course you've got your standard articulation in
04:01 the legs so we're going to talk more about that in a moment and again still
04:05 instead of actually painting these down below here in blue like the original
04:07 first wave Batman they decided to paint it instead a very nice dark purple. All
04:11 the colors work really well on this figure. The Zurin-R that we had looked at
04:15 from the DC multiverse for example would have gone the approach of more
04:18 darkening the color of the red and making the color of the orange a little
04:22 bit more not not darker necessarily but definitely a little bit more of a
04:26 yellowish tint. This is a much brighter color of yellow that they approached here
04:29 and a much brighter red as well. Still again a little bit bummed that
04:33 unfortunately he doesn't have any gripping hands because again he doesn't
04:36 have any gripping hands therefore means that the figure doesn't necessarily need
04:39 accessories. I just really wish that this guy could have actually been able to
04:42 wield something. Not a gun because I know we're all kind of against the idea of
04:45 packing figures along with guns but a batarang something could have gone a
04:48 long way just to hold inside his hands. Now the figures articulation is gonna be
04:52 exactly the same as that first wave Batman and really for the most part
04:55 exactly the same as all the other superpowers figures. His head normally
04:59 would be able to rotate all the way around. Unfortunately though with all the
05:02 cape that he has around it the head has a more of a struggle just to be able to
05:06 rotate like this. To rotate it all the way around forget about it. The arms do
05:10 easily rotate though all the way around. Still again a little unfortunate that
05:13 I've got a little bit of a stain there on the side. He also has a swivel there
05:16 on this side too. No swiveling at all in the hands so if you're looking for
05:20 swivelage it's not gonna happen. There's no waist articulation either. Batman from
05:25 Zoranar does have at least the leg options to be able to sit inside of a
05:28 Batmobile. He doesn't have his own version of the Batmobile yet but I
05:31 already have a Batman Batmobile from Superpowers from we looked at from
05:34 before so of course maybe Zoranar can borrow that for a ride from time to time.
05:38 He does have the knee bend so of course that's nice to see. The original classic
05:42 Kenner figures as well would have had knee bends so that's not necessarily
05:45 something that's been new introduced to this line. The original Superpowers from
05:48 Kenner also had those as well and again like the figure does have pegs on the
05:51 undersides of his feet. It's a really nice-looking Batman from Zoranar. This is
05:55 one of those cases where I feel like a mold use and just simply repainting the
06:00 mold works extremely well. If this was just a case that they decided to dust
06:04 off this mold again and just gave us like I don't know like an old gold
06:07 Batman or an old silver Batman I don't think would have worked as well but you
06:11 know to give us a character like Batman from Zoranar who I'm actually a big fan
06:14 of as well so I might maybe lean might maybe lean a little more to the buy side
06:18 of things. Still I'm glad to see that they decided to use this mold as opposed
06:22 to this mold. I don't think like it's not a case that this mold wouldn't have
06:25 worked well for Batman from Zoranar considering of course it's the exact
06:28 same character you think that they would be a little bit more of the same similar
06:31 size but like similar to Thomas Wayne's Batman that we haven't had yet a chance
06:35 to look at here on this channel that's also also from the Superpowers they
06:38 decided to go instead with the using of this mold as opposed to this one and I
06:42 think actually I prefer this mold being used from well taking the cues from this
06:47 one instead of this one because I think that that mold works a little bit better.
06:50 This mold didn't work as well when it came to a more classic looking Batman
06:54 like if you want one that really looks like the original Superpowers you can't
06:56 really beat the one that we get here but definitely I think the mold works
07:00 extremely well if you want to get again different versions of Batman as he
07:04 appears in the comics. I have similar feelings towards the DC Superpowers
07:07 Batman Zoranar as I did with the DC multiverse release. Now I can't sell you
07:11 guys on the idea of picking this figure up if you were the kind of collector
07:14 that passed on the multiverse release then you're probably gonna be also the
07:16 same kind of collector that's gonna walk right by this guy if you happen to see
07:20 him on the store shelves. Take a few steps back if you can just look at him
07:24 again and just remember this zany reviewers praising how cool the colors
07:28 were and how over the top they were end up giving us a Batman that
07:31 somehow really worked. You might find yourself then taking him off the peg
07:35 putting him into your shopping cart walking through oh you got to pick up
07:38 some socks oh I got also get a carton of milk get him to the front checkout get
07:42 him home put him on the shelf and look at him and just say you know what that
07:45 guy knew what he was talking about Batman from Zoranar is a pretty fun
07:48 looking figure. Unfortunately though while being a fun figure he uses still
07:51 the same problems of using the first wave Batman mold that he doesn't have any
07:55 gripping hands even if he didn't have an accessory I mean I get the idea that not
07:59 all the Superpowers figures are gonna come in clear with accessories but at
08:02 least giving him gripping hands could then mean you could give him an
08:05 accessory from another figure. It's not gonna be the case. I like the purple of
08:09 the cape unfortunately it's stained a little bit on the sides of the arms. I
08:11 can't imagine that's just gonna be on my figure that if you're picking this guy
08:15 up just you know overlook that part of it when you're still thinking boy that
08:18 zany guy behind the camera he was right about Batman from Zoranar. Just overlook
08:22 of course some staining it might be on the back of his shoulders. The rest of
08:26 the figure again is really nice. Now this one I think is probably like the fourth
08:29 or fifth time that this molds been used before we got a Thomas Wayne release we
08:32 got a couple of variations of the original blue cowl Batman. I'm sure
08:36 we're probably gonna be getting this guy again. The mold again works well for
08:39 characters like this. If you want a more classic looking Batman can't overlook of
08:43 course the classic looking blue cowl Batman that we got from that kind of
08:46 like I want to say like the resurgence of the Superpowers figures because like
08:49 from that point on the Superpowers figures seem to have been different. The
08:53 plastic feels different, the paint looks a little bit different. As a whole though
08:56 I'm glad to see that we finally did get ourselves a Batman from Zoranar. Take a
09:00 few steps back get your carton of milk if you have to first grab the whatever
09:04 size socks you guys are buying for yourselves but backtrack a little bit
09:07 pick this guy off the shelf you guys won't be disappointed. Big thank you
09:10 once again to the folks over at McFarland toys that did provide this
09:13 sample of brand new DC Superpowers Batman from Zoranar that we had the
09:17 chance to have a look at this review. Like this figure? Want to get this figure? I
09:20 hope so. If you guys did enjoy this video want to throw it a like. If you guys are
