Ramadan Momentum Kembangkan Industri Halal

Adapun beberapa Faktor industri halal mengalami peningkatan yakni .

06:55 Thank you for staying with us in Market Review.
06:58 Mr. Mirza, we will present some data for you
07:01 related to the growth of the fashion sector
07:04 in a global Muslim way.
07:07 As you can see, in 2022,
07:10 for global Muslim fashion,
07:13 it grew by around 9.34 percent.
07:16 However, in 2023, it grew negatively,
07:19 minus 1.69 percent.
07:22 Next, for the development of the global
07:25 food industry,
07:28 in 2022, it was recorded as 4.5 trillion US dollars.
07:33 Meanwhile, in 2027,
07:37 its projection increased to 6.7 trillion US dollars.
07:41 We will continue the discussion with Mr. Helma Agustiawan,
07:46 he is the Secretary of the Association of Halal Produce Producers Indonesia.
07:50 Mr. Helma, we will continue if we talk about some things.
07:54 The point you just said is interesting.
07:57 There are various policies that have been launched by the government
08:01 to encourage the development of the halal industry in Indonesia.
08:05 And the safe declare, is it really a solution
08:09 that is expected from small and medium-sized micro-businesses
08:14 that are based on halal products?
08:16 Yes.
08:20 Yes, that's right, Mr. Fros.
08:22 Related to the safe declare policy,
08:25 it is actually being studied a lot by other countries.
08:28 Why? Because it facilitates the business of micro-businesses,
08:32 the non-formal sector, with the halal safe declare.
08:35 Just now, adding a little more information,
08:37 it was said that from 565 RPH,
08:42 that is one of the critical points,
08:44 we are ahead of the world in cutting down on animal production.
08:47 From 565, we are already 14 percent
08:50 that already have NCAV or Veterinary Explanation Number.
08:55 And also, from 313,
08:57 we are cutting down on the number of jobs in Indonesia,
08:59 52 percent already have halal certification.
09:01 This is what we are also encouraging from the association,
09:05 how to encourage the government to immediately certify the RPH.
09:10 Because this is very old.
09:13 So, for small and medium-sized businesses,
09:16 this will be helpful when the old one already has halal certification.
09:19 It will be easier.
09:20 So, this is a policy that needs to be encouraged,
09:22 and this cannot be done by the government itself.
09:24 It needs collaboration between stakeholders.
09:28 Then, the next thing that was also interesting to be said by Maspras,
09:31 related to growth in specific sectors,
09:35 like the Fashion sector.
09:36 If we look at some reports from last year,
09:41 in 2023, in the Ramadhan period,
09:44 there was an increase in transactions,
09:47 sales, more or less around 19 percent last year.
09:51 We hope that this year, in some sectors,
09:53 especially in the food and beverage sector,
09:55 we hope it can reach 20 to 30 percent.
09:58 The same goes for products that are consumed during fasting or suhoor.
10:03 That's what some sectors might do.
10:05 But if you look at it yourself,
10:07 from the point of view of increasing demand for halal products,
10:10 in the community, is the trend constantly increasing or not?
10:13 So, this is finally our concern to be able to meet the demand.
10:20 That's right.
10:21 From the CXC report,
10:24 which was issued by DEX BI, the Bank of Indonesia,
10:28 Alhamdulillah, there was an increase in the Indonesian economy literacy in 2023.
10:33 The increase is not much, only 4.71 percent.
10:37 So, in 2023,
10:39 the Indonesian economy literacy index is actually 28.01.
10:44 It's still below 50 percent.
10:46 We also encourage that.
10:48 And it has been several times stated by Mr. Wapres as the head of the KNIKS daily,
10:54 how to increase the Indonesian economy literacy index to 50 percent by 2025.
10:59 Now, when the literacy index increases,
11:01 the hope is that awareness of the use of halal products will increase.
11:05 It has already increased, but it hasn't made people happy.
11:09 The increase is still minimal.
11:10 Indeed, this must be a joint collaboration,
11:12 including with the media, with the editorial channel,
11:14 who have a concern for the halal industry.
11:16 Okay. What sectors are potentially,
11:19 maybe for us to boost or push faster,
11:22 can finally become a leading sector for the halal industry?
11:26 Or just fashion?
11:27 Or are there actually other types of business?
11:31 Thank you.
11:34 Mr. Pras, here,
11:36 in 2023, in the month of Ramadan,
11:39 there are several sectors that are fast-moving.
11:43 The products that have potential to be developed are related to food and beverages.
11:50 Okay.
11:51 Then, it's related to health, pharmacy,
11:53 then cosmetics,
11:54 then banking, as mentioned earlier,
11:57 and also fashion.
11:58 We actually hope that in terms of food and beverages,
12:02 those that consume more,
12:04 we usually consume less,
12:06 or we eat less.
12:07 Finally, in the month of Ramadan,
12:09 the expectation is 20-30% increase for food and beverages in the month of Ramadan.
12:13 For pharmacy, we all know that
12:16 health products and supplements,
12:18 especially in the weather change,
12:20 we also hope that it can grow 15-20%.
12:23 In the cosmetic sector, it's the same.
12:25 Especially in skin and face care.
12:27 To be precise, last year,
12:29 in e-commerce, the growth rate was up to 21%.
12:35 In the cosmetic sector,
12:37 we also hope that this year,
12:39 in the month of Ramadan, it can increase 10-15%
12:42 outside the month of Ramadan.
12:44 Okay, that's it.
12:46 Some points or some business sectors in the sharia industry,
12:51 or based on this halal,
12:54 which has the potential to push the industry's performance as a whole.
12:58 There was food and beverages, pharmacy, cosmetics,
13:01 and also fashion.
13:03 If we talk about the producer himself,
13:05 how to fulfill the halal rules
13:09 as related to the products you mentioned earlier?
13:12 Do you understand that
13:14 you have purified and have the certificate?
13:18 Mr. Helma.
13:19 This is what we need to push together.
13:25 With one of the halal mandatory steps.
13:30 This year, October 17, 2024,
13:33 halal beverages are a must.
13:36 So, this is what we are pushing together,
13:38 business actors, especially in the APPHI,
13:41 in the association, to push business actors in the food and beverages sector
13:44 to do the halal certification.
13:46 Because this will be a halal mandatory.
13:48 So, if they don't have a halal certification,
13:51 it will have consequences in the future.
13:53 Both direct consequences and legal consequences.
13:57 Next, for other products in the sector,
14:00 such as in the facial, cosmetics, and medicines sector,
14:04 the steps are in 2026 to 2029.
14:07 The hope is that by pushing the rules,
14:11 this will also push business actors to order the products.
14:15 On the other hand, actually the business actors that Mr. Pras mentioned earlier
14:18 also have a high awareness.
14:20 For example, for some products,
14:22 there is a brand that now has a skin certification.
14:26 That is the skin that is in the fashion sector.
14:28 That has been certified halal, even though there is no regulation yet.
14:31 There are also three, for example, refrigerators,
14:33 which have been certified halal, even though there is no regulation yet.
14:36 Likewise, there is also spray, or Ihrom fabric,
14:39 there is now halal fabric.
14:41 That has also been certified halal, even though there is no regulation yet.
14:43 These are innovations that we need to push together,
14:46 so that when the regulation is implemented,
14:49 the business actors are ready.
14:51 So, there are many examples of business actors
14:53 who have innovated their products with added value in the halal industry sector.
14:56 Okay, so let's pick up the ball first from the business actors themselves.
15:00 Before there was a regulation, we had already done the halal certification.
15:04 And this also gives assurance,
15:06 certainty, comfort, security,
15:08 for the public to consume the products offered.
15:13 If we talk about the current conditions,
15:15 actually the challenge from the halal industry itself,
15:18 now maybe the bottleneck is in which part, Mr. Helma?
15:22 Yes, there are several challenges,
15:24 maybe related to the halal certification process,
15:29 related to the issue of speed,
15:33 now with the system, the government has started to improve,
15:36 there are several obstacles related to the speed of the halal certification process.
15:41 The second is also related to the cost.
15:44 These are business actors,
15:45 from the ultra-micro class, even to the big one,
15:49 this is also related to the cost, there is a barrier.
15:52 If it's a big business, maybe they already have a calculation method,
15:56 so it can be burdened on the product.
15:58 But for business actors in the micro sector,
16:00 even for the ultra-micro, it becomes difficult,
16:03 because they don't burden it in the product,
16:06 so it feels like a burden for them.
16:10 Then, the connection with the raw material source,
16:13 the raw material source is also a crucial thing.
16:17 For example, business actors want to buy the raw material in the market,
16:22 with a bulk, buy it with a lot,
16:27 there is no certification,
16:28 so when the certification process is difficult.
16:32 The second is related to the production process,
16:34 this also ensures that the separation between the process
16:38 to the storage of halal products,
16:40 this also needs to be taken into account by business actors.
16:42 There is even a marketplace that is very concerned about logistics
16:47 and storage, related to the production process.
16:50 Then also related to consumer awareness,
16:52 this is what we need to push together.
16:54 How do we encourage consumer education,
16:57 to be smarter in buying halal products,
16:59 and how to identify the product.
17:01 For example, we want to eat in a restaurant,
17:03 how to check whether it is halal or not,
17:06 can be checked online.
17:08 That's it.
17:09 Information for the people themselves,
17:11 to make sure that the products they will buy,
17:15 the products they will consume,
17:17 are already certified as halal,
17:19 how is it?
17:20 And what is the role of the association?
17:23 But hold on, Mr. Helma's answer, we will explain in a moment.
17:25 And viewers, stay with us.
17:28 [Music]
17:44 It's getting more interesting if we talk about the halal industry,
17:48 where the momentum from Ramadan is really expected to be able to boost the energy,
17:52 production, and also sales.
17:55 We will continue our discussion with Mr. Helma Agustiawan,
17:58 the Secretary General of the APPHI.
18:00 Mr. Helma, we were surprised when we talked about educating the public,
18:05 although you previously said that the demand,
18:08 the awareness of the public for halal products is also increasing.
18:12 How do we actually differentiate?
18:14 Are we just following one location,
18:17 one product that already has a halal certificate, is that enough?
18:20 Or do we have to find out more?
18:22 What components are included in the category of halal products that they offer to consumers?
18:28 Yes, actually, for those who want to check the halal certification,
18:34 you can go to the website that has been developed by the APPHI,
18:40 there is a website called Halal,
18:42 we can also check what is the halal certification on the website.
18:46 Whether this restaurant has a halal certification or not,
18:49 or whether the food has a halal certification,
18:54 you can check it there.
18:55 But it does need the awareness of the public,
18:57 moreover, as I said earlier,
18:59 it needs the intelligence of the public,
19:01 first, in choosing the halal certification,
19:03 and second, related to other processes.
19:07 For example, we also need to give awareness to the public,
19:11 to be able to ask questions.
19:13 For example, if we come to a micro business,
19:16 for example, we eat grilled chicken,
19:19 owned by Mr. Haji,
19:21 there is already a halal logo,
19:22 even though the halal is still manual,
19:25 not yet a halal logo that is standardized by the registration number,
19:29 we have to ask.
19:31 Because, for example, the chicken can be made in a good way,
19:35 all the spices are halal,
19:38 but it can be, for example, because the grilled chicken has a brush,
19:42 it turns out that the brush is the main ingredient of the pig's fur,
19:47 it can be non-halal.
19:51 So, actually, there are two things.
19:54 First, the business owner must,
19:56 why must be certified,
19:57 to make themselves sure that they produce halal products.
20:01 For the consumer, they must also have the courage to ask,
20:05 don't be shy, don't be shy.
20:07 This is already certified or not,
20:08 what is the process like,
20:10 when the consumer asks the business owner,
20:13 then the business owner will also be encouraged,
20:15 "I am asked a lot."
20:17 So it becomes an awareness for the producer.
20:19 So, there are two sides,
20:21 between the supply and demand,
20:22 it must be encouraged to educate about this halal product.
20:25 That's right.
20:26 What about the position of the association itself?
20:29 So that the producer realized that
20:31 all the products they use to process production
20:35 are guaranteed to be halal.
20:37 And the public is also encouraged to be more active.
20:40 Maybe they ask,
20:41 "What is it like? Is it really halal what they consume?"
20:45 Yes, that's right.
20:48 There are several efforts that we have done as an association.
20:53 First, we always encourage education and literacy,
20:56 both through social media,
20:57 or we communicate with religious organizations,
21:01 cooperation for how religious organizations
21:04 in conveying it,
21:06 not only related to things related to religion,
21:10 or with morals,
21:11 but also how to consume.
21:14 Maybe the consumption is one of the things.
21:16 Because from halal, blessings appear.
21:18 That's what we have to encourage.
21:20 Then, it's like with Ideas Channel,
21:23 which always consistently encourages halal industry.
21:27 Then, the same with the Halal Association.
21:29 We also need to encourage the government
21:31 to always strengthen the institution that is trusted.
21:34 For example, there are several previous cases
21:37 where many products that turned out to be
21:39 halal products,
21:42 but they have a name that is not in line with the standard of halal.
21:46 For example, the names that are not suitable
21:49 for halal products.
21:51 Then, related to the information we discussed earlier,
21:55 if possible, information that is easy to access.
21:58 Not slow, and so on.
22:01 We also encourage it when we communicate with the government.
22:04 Then, also the change of consumer mind.
22:07 This is what we need to welcome earlier.
22:09 Not only consumers, but also producers.
22:12 So, some efforts such as education and campaigns
22:15 we always do.
22:18 Then, also encourage halal certification,
22:20 collaboration with various stakeholders,
22:22 cooperation with communities and religious institutions.
22:24 We encourage how they have activities
22:30 or speeches that are related to the consumption behavior of halal.
22:35 Then, social media, involvement of the industry and the government.
22:38 This is very important.
22:40 So, the snowball effect will be even bigger
22:44 when the government pushes for regulation
22:47 and also the industry has a connection and benefit
22:50 from the regulation.
22:52 Okay, Mr. Helwang, this is interesting.
22:54 There is a report from KEKSI,
22:56 from the Halal Value Chain Excellence sector,
22:58 which grew by 3.93% annually in 2023.
23:03 But, it's declining.
23:05 If we compare it with the previous year,
23:07 5.53% in the previous year.
23:09 What do you think?
23:10 What is happening in the value chain for the halal industry?
23:14 That's right.
23:15 This is based on the information from KEKSI earlier
23:19 and also the discussion with the members of the International Network of Religious Affairs,
23:23 that the growth of the halal value chain sector in 2023
23:27 was pushed by the tourism and Muslim sectors.
23:29 We both know that several national and international events
23:33 were held last year.
23:35 And this is gradually recovering
23:37 after the pandemic in the last two years.
23:39 This is also indicated by the rise of Indonesia's rank
23:42 in the Global Muslim Travel Index report, or GMTI.
23:46 In 2022, we were in the fourth place.
23:49 And last year, in 2023, we were in the first place.
23:52 This growth is also due to the increase in the number of halal food products.
23:56 So, many of our tourists,
23:58 whether from Malaysia, Singapore,
24:00 or from the Middle East,
24:01 are more comfortable when they eat street food.
24:04 So, it's already a halal product.
24:06 Then, it's also related to other sectors,
24:09 such as the Muslim fashion.
24:12 It's also a bit of a sustainable trend
24:16 in the global fashion industry.
24:19 But on the other hand, there were several factors,
24:22 for example, externally,
24:23 there was a growth in the delay
24:26 in the countries that we trade with.
24:28 Or also the punctuation of the relationship with the value of the currency
24:32 and also the political inequality.
24:34 That's also a challenge.
24:36 Meanwhile, internally,
24:38 it's related to tighter regulations
24:41 and also the change in the intensive incentive.
24:43 This fiscal will also affect.
24:45 On the other hand, it's related to market competition.
24:48 The tightness of the market competition in the halal food chain,
24:51 not only from Muslim countries,
24:52 even from non-Muslim countries,
24:54 it also becomes a push related to the delay.
24:58 So, the other thing we need to push
25:01 is related to the change in consumer preferences.
25:03 How to change the consumer's preference patterns
25:06 towards halal, safe and healthy products.
25:10 Then, related to the company itself,
25:13 it's related to innovation.
25:15 The more effective management in the income chain,
25:20 this is the obstacle that causes growth in the HBCE sector through decline.
25:26 So, we have to continue to increase our awareness.
25:29 Awareness of all government parties, businessmen, and the community
25:32 for the development of the halal industry
25:34 and how the support from the policy side
25:37 is also expected by many actors in the halal industry in Indonesia.
25:42 Okay, Mr. Helma, thank you very much for your time and sharing.
25:46 Keep going for the halal industry in Indonesia.
