00:47 This river used to be a vibrant fishing ground and now it is completely covered in rubbish.

00:57 Mike Smith was the one who managed to get the viral post of the Australian national.

01:02 But of course, he's not alone.

01:06 Mike has a collaborative effort with a few Filipino volunteers and several government agencies.

01:12 Our government is doing something on this problem.

01:14 It's a collaborative effort because they helped us.

01:17 When I got here, it was completely covered in rubbish and now it's basically clean.

01:22 And that's just a sample of the Australian-based company Mike Smith's clean-up work in the country.

01:31 including Tanzamarine Tree Park and other areas that were voted.

01:35 Our goal for the next 12 months is to clean up all areas or problematic areas with a lot of rubbish.

04:09 the Balikatan exercise, which started today, is the 33rd edition.

04:19 More than 16,000 members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the US military
