00:04A popular Caribbean fusion eatery has opened a takeaway in its new permanent home in Preston.
00:10Sauce Kitchen was first opened by 39-year-old Priya Chauhan from Broughton in October 2020
00:15and has quickly developed a loyal following. Since March 2023, Priya has been based at
00:20the Victoria Pub in Lostock Hall, but has now opened her very own takeaway on Strand
00:24Road in the city. In Blackpool, motorists have voiced their
00:28exasperation after learning that the new A585 Windy Harbour to Skippool bypass has
00:33been closed for resurfacing just a month after opening. The £165m bypass, which was fully
00:40opened in March, some months behind schedule and some £12m over budget, was closed overnight
00:46last night on Tuesday 23rd and will again be closed tonight on Wednesday 24th April
00:52for essential resurfacing work, according to National Highways.
00:56A Blackburn man has been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage after a number of police
01:00car tyres were slashed at Clitheroe Police Station at around 3.30am on Tuesday April
01:0623rd. A 49-year-old man from Blackburn was arrested and is currently in police custody
01:11on suspicion of criminal damage and possession of a bladed article.
01:15A collision involving a pedestrian and a vehicle closed the M6 northbound motorway between
01:20Preston and Lancaster last night, with motorists urged to avoid the area. The northbound carriageway
01:26was closed near Junction 32 at Broughton and the entry slip road for the M55 at around
01:303.30pm on Tuesday.
01:32And finally, a wiggered man has admitted to sexually assaulting a schoolgirl at the Trafford
01:37Centre and to drug driving in court. Ishmael Ibrahim, 45, of Withington Lane in Aspel,
01:44appeared before Manchester magistrates to plead guilty to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old
01:48girl at the Trafford Centre in Manchester on April 10th and also to driving a Honda
01:53Civic in sale last June whilst under the influence of cocaine. He was remanded in custody
01:59until May 19th, when he will be sentenced by a judge at Minchell Street Crown Court
02:03in Manchester.
02:04Onto the weather now, and the Met Office is forecasting a chilly but bright start to the
02:08day with sunny spells emerging later on and a maximum temperature of around 12 degrees
02:12Celsius. Tonight's set to be mostly dry and clear, leading to drop in temperatures
02:17and even some frost, with authorities saying that temperatures could dip as low as 2 degrees
