00:00Hi, my name's Jack Marshall and these are your headlines from across the North West.
00:06Lancashire Police have warned far-right rioters planning more disorder in Blackpool, Preston
00:10and Blackburn that, quote, we are ready with concerns raised that extra marches and meets
00:15across the county are being planned. Officers said they were monitoring information at a
00:19local and national level and were ready to respond to any concerns or incidents.
00:25Blackpool star Charlotte Dawson has bravely opened up about the ordeal she went through
00:29after finding texts her fiancé had sent to another woman. The 31-year-old was left
00:34devastated after fiancé Matt Sarsfield sent secret texts to another woman with friends of
00:39the former Ex on the Beach and Celebs Go Dating star telling the Mirror that she'd been left,
00:44quote, hurt and humiliated. Derelict flats that have blighted the Wigan skyline for years are
00:49finally tumbling down as they make way for a much-needed new set of homes. Logwood Place
00:55in Worsley Hall has unquestionably been a blot on the landscape and it doesn't help that its
01:00shabby and fire-damaged homes could be seen from Robin Park Road, but all that is currently
01:04changing as a Wigan council scheme sets about replacing these redundant car bunkers with 74
01:11one- and two-bedroom apartments, all for affordable rent. In Burnley, Palestine Action
01:17has claimed responsibility for vandalising Barclays Bank in the town centre overnight.
01:21The St James Street branch of the bank was covered in red paint and several windows and doors were
01:26smashed in the attack, with a spokesman for Palestine Action saying several activists
01:30from Palestine Action targeted a Barclays branch in Burnley over the bank's shareholdings in
01:36Israel's biggest weapons producer Elbit Systems. The group smashed windows and covered the premises
01:42in red paint, symbolising the bank's complicity in the Gaza genocide. In Lancaster, the transportation
01:48of a huge electric transformer from the port of Heasham to a national grid site at Longtown,
01:52north of Carlisle in Cumbria, on Saturday was cancelled at the very last minute. Delays and
01:58restrictions on the M6 and surrounding roads were due to be enforced on Saturday through
02:01Lancashire and Cumbria due to the wide load movement, but National Highways has now announced
02:06that delivery has been postponed until further notice. Onto the weather now and the Met Office
02:12is forecasting an early low cloud to lift, leaving a bright day for most with plenty of
02:17sunny spells and highs of 21 degrees Celsius. This evening is set to see the odd shower and
02:22a slightly breezier conditions with minimum temperatures of around 9 degrees.
02:27That's it from us, thanks for watching, have a lovely day.
