00:00Morning, my name's Jack Marshall and these are your headlines from across the North West.
00:06An ex-el bully type dog has been seized by police after attacking a woman in Preston.
00:12Police were called to Kingsway, a quiet residential street in Ashton where the woman was mauled
00:17by the loose dog around 8.44pm on Monday June 24th.
00:22Officers seized the out of control dog while paramedics treated the woman who suffered
00:26serious bites to her chest and leg.
00:28She was taken to hospital by ambulance for further treatment.
00:32A Blackpool mum who uses a wheelchair said she felt embarrassed and discriminated against
00:36after being told a meal deal could only be served upstairs and not on her restaurant's
00:40lower floor.
00:41Becky Halliwell had gone out to the West Coast Rock Cafe on Abingdon Street with her husband
00:46Andy and some pals, specifically to enjoy the Mexican meal deal on offer, but was told
00:51that the food items she wanted, including the half-priced fajitas, were only available
00:56upstairs and could not be served on the restaurant's smaller ground floor space, which was the
01:01only one she could access.
01:03Robert Wynne, the owner of West Coast, said the incident was regrettable and one that
01:08he and the team would have to reflect on to avoid similar disappointment in the future.
01:13A fed-up mum is taking legal action against a builder she claims owes £4,800 for failing
01:18to do work on her Wigan home.
01:20In April, Abbey Ashcroft and her husband Thomas hired Stephen Mooney of RS Building Services
01:25to do three jobs on the property and claims she was told that work on the roof, windows
01:30and doors would be completed within five weeks.
01:33After paying a £6,800 deposit, Mrs Ashcroft alleges that Mr Mooney started to fail to
01:38turn up and after three weeks they decided to cancel the rest of the work.
01:42Mrs Ashcroft says she asked him to finish the roof and either return the remaining £4,800
01:49or give them the materials he had bought.
01:51She claims he agreed to deliver the materials and complete the work on the roof, but this
01:55has still not been done.
01:57Mr Mooney himself claims that Mrs Ashcroft refused him access to the site four times,
02:01citing domestic matters and illness, so he's not been able to do the work.
02:06Police are looking to speak to a certain person after a large-scale fight in Paddyham left
02:11a man unconscious.
