Paul George Recalls First Meeting with Kobe Bryant

LA Clippers star Paul George recalls his first memory of playing against Kobe Bryant.

00:00 The very first time was actually here in LA.

00:03 I think it was my second year, I didn't get to play in my first year.

00:09 But my second year, I believe was the time, yeah, it was my second year.

00:15 And I got the opportunity, I was matched up with him,

00:19 it was my assignment to guard Kobe.

00:22 And it's the story I always tell, one of the greatest and funniest moments.

00:27 I'm obviously having B Shaw as an assistant.

00:31 And B Shaw's like John Adam, egging him on,

00:35 getting him riled up, talking mess from the bench.

00:39 And them two was going at it, Kobe and B Shaw.

00:44 And here I am in the middle while all of this is going on.

00:48 And I just remember one possession down on their end in front of their bench.

00:52 I was guarding him and he got his back down,

00:59 his patent pump fake and I went flying for it.

01:04 Young guy trying to go block his shot, I went flying for it.

01:07 And he caught me in the air, he gave me a little elbow, got past me and

01:12 laid it up.

01:13 And he ran down, specifically ran down to where B Shaw was.

01:20 And yelled at B Shaw, check the young feather for feathers.

01:25 And that was the first time,

01:28 first moment of being on the court, guarding Kobe.
