The LA Clippers have a busy offseason ahead, but they can't afford to forget about JaMychal Green.

00:00 The LA Clippers will spend much of their offseason looking at ways to improve upon the current roster
00:04 and rightfully so. LA was knocked out in the second half of this year's playoffs by a resilient
00:08 Denver Nuggets team and as the franchise enters what could be the final year of Kawhi Leonard and
00:13 Paul George's partnership in Southern California, it can't afford to make any mistakes. Now contrary
00:18 to popular belief, the Clippers don't need to blow everything up. Sure, there are players
00:21 that are better off without but there are also some that the franchise must prioritize bringing
00:26 back from the run next year. One such player is Jameichael Green who is arguably LA's most
00:31 consistent performer off the bench throughout the entirety of the postseason. He checks in just
00:35 behind Ibuza Zubats and Kawhi Leonard in rebalance per 36 minutes, a tight end on an efficient 43.5%
00:41 clip from three-point range, and gave us about as much effort as anybody else in LA's game seven
00:46 loss to Denver. And it's not like that was a coincidence really either. That's the player
00:50 Green has been all season long and had he received more minutes in the Clippers second round series
00:54 against Denver, there's a chance that LA would be playing basketball right now. Performance aside,
00:59 Green's presence on the roster is of importance simply because of the skills that he provides.
01:03 He's the fourth tallest player on the team at six feet eight inches which is a bit surprising,
01:07 and his ability to excel both in and out of the paint lets him play multiple positions on
01:12 offense and defense. With Clippers playing at the five for example, their options on both ends
01:16 really open up as they can go five out on offense. They have to worry about getting up size and
01:20 physicality on defense. Now unfortunately for LA, other teams have recognized Green's tremendous
01:26 value and according to Athletic Champs, Sharania is going to have more than a few suitors this
01:30 offseason. Green agreed to a very team-friendly deal last summer to turn to LA, signing a two-year
01:36 contract worth roughly five million dollars annually. He has a player option for the second
01:41 year of his deal which is this offseason, and if he does opt out he'll be an unrestricted free agent
01:45 again this year. At Green's asking price, there's hardly a better big in the NBA, especially
01:50 considering how dry this year's pool of quality free agents is, so keeping him in LA will be
01:55 paired with the Clippers in the coming months.
