00:00 In the final seconds of Game 5, Los Angeles Lakers guard Danny Green missed a potential
00:05 championship-clinching three-pointer.
00:07 Later that night, Green, as well as his fiancée, began receiving death threats on social media.
00:12 "I had to ask, 'Are you getting those threats too?'"
00:14 Green told reporters on Sunday.
00:16 "And she said, 'Yeah, you are too.'
00:17 And I was like, 'I don't know.
00:18 It's only a petition to Orcaire.
00:19 Nor am I upset, shaken, or worried about it.
00:22 People are emotional.
00:23 Fans are emotional.
00:24 Hope they don't take it that seriously."
00:27 After hearing this news, Lakers star Paul George took to Instagram to voice his support
00:30 for Green, saying, "Stay blessed bro," and tagging Danny Green @GreenRanger14, saying
00:36 one of the best guns out there in terms of this three-point shot.
00:39 Green was supportive of George and went through his own struggle with social media and mental
00:42 health earlier this postseason.
00:44 After Clippers defeated the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the first round, George revealed
00:48 on national television that he'd been dealing with anxiety and depression since he first
00:51 came into the Orlando bubble.
00:53 Green responded, saying, "If you're not playing well, the wall is going to close in on you
00:57 more and more.
00:58 And trust me, I know exactly what Paul is going through.
01:00 All they're doing is bullying you."
01:02 Regardless of how a player is performing, there's never any excuse for going after them
01:05 on social media, especially if all you can offer is death threats.
01:09 As Green says, "It's ultimately just a game."
01:11 George's show of solidarity here is a nice reminder of that.
