LA Clippers will be Shorthanded vs Lakers

The LA Clippers will be shorthanded against the Lakers on opening night.

00:00The LA Clippers are going to be a bit shorthanded against the Lakers tomorrow on the opening

00:06night game.

00:08Everybody's been looking forward to this game for what seems to be all season.

00:11The Clippers are up 2-1.

00:13They want to see, you know, the rubber match.

00:14They want to see, do the Lakers even the odds if the Clippers shut it down.

00:18But unfortunately, they're not going to have Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell.

00:25Obviously, everybody knows why Lou Williams isn't going to be there.

00:28Montrezl is not going to be there because he seems to be suffering an issue with his

00:32grandmother.

00:33It seems like his grandmother is very, very ill, so, you know, he's having to make a judgment

00:36call on coming back in the bubble or being with the last days of his grandmother.

00:41The two of them combined, though, average 37 points a game for the Clippers.

00:46And that's a team that already is the best bench in the league with 51 points a game.

00:50And so those two pretty much make up the reason why the Clippers have the best bench in the

00:56entire NBA.

00:58Now, it's going to be a big deal to miss those two, and the Clippers are going to need to

01:01figure out a way to have Jermichael Green, Reggie Jackson, Landry Schammett all step

01:04up.

01:05That's what they're there to do.

01:06Now, in terms of the other guys that may or may not play, Patrick Beverly is listed as

01:09questionable.

01:10The Lakers, obviously, are going to have Rajon Rondo or Avery Bradley, but they're nowhere

01:14near on the level of a Montrezl Harrell or Lou Williams.

01:18But they also have Anthony Davis listed as questionable.

01:20Now, if Anthony Davis is missing, then this is a much harder game to call.

01:26But if Anthony Davis is playing, these games are already tightly contested when everyone

01:30was healthy.

01:31Without the two leading candidates of the six men of the year on the Clippers not playing

01:36there, you have to give the edge to the Lakers.
