Don't worry about Kawhi Leonard's Poor Scrimmage shooting. History has shown us why
Transcript
00:00 Kawhi Leonard isn't shooting well in these scrimmage games.
00:05 In fact, he's shooting pretty awful.
00:08 When you look at his numbers, he's shooting 26% from the field, 32% from two, 22% from three, and 10.6 points per game.
00:19 And that's with him playing in three games against the Magic, the Wizards, and the Sacramento Kings.
00:25 Against the Magic, he played 19 minutes, he played 24 minutes against the Wizards, and 30 minutes against the Kings.
00:32 Now it might seem alarming, but it really isn't that big of a deal.
00:36 And the reason I say that is because if you look at his preseason numbers, he didn't do very good in those either.
00:41 32% from the field, 36% from two, 27% from three, 10 points per game again.
00:49 It's almost identical.
00:50 Now what did he do the first game, right when the preseason ended, in the first regular season game?
00:55 He played the Lakers.
00:56 In that game, he got 30 points on 53% shooting, and he absolutely destroyed the Lakers.
01:01 And then after that, his regular season numbers are pretty fantastic themselves.
01:05 47% from the field, 26.9 points per game, which is a career high.
01:10 And it almost seems like history is prepared to repeat itself, with him averaging 10 points a game right before the season starts,
01:17 and then he goes against the Lakers one more time.
01:20 Now granted, they're going to be way more shorthanded this time against the Lakers,
01:23 because it doesn't look like Montress Harrell or Patrick Beverly or Lou Williams is going to be available.
01:28 At the same time, Anthony Davis may not be available for the Lakers as well.
01:33 So the only thing we can do is see what happens on Thursday.
