00:00L.A. Clippers star Paul George is never afraid to speak out about something he believes in.
00:04He credits players like LeBron James for paving the way for him to do so.
00:07On a comment spot at the Porters on Saturday, George praised James, Carmelo, Anthony, and others for making it more comfortable for athletes to voice their opinions on injustice, saying,
00:16George also gave credit to the NBA for allowing players to speak out, saying it's a great partnership between the two parties.
00:44His statement especially rings true to 2020, when we've seen more professional athletes speak out, demonstrate, and protest for things they believe in than ever before.
00:52And like George said, the NBA is engaging that activism as well.
00:55When the season resumes on July 30th, courts love the phrase Black Lives Matter painted on them, and players build a wall of social justice statements and place their names on their jerseys.
01:04It's a small step, but it's one in the right direction.
01:07George's L.A. Clippers will take on LeBron James' Los Angeles Lakers later this month to get off the NBA restart.
