00:00 Good morning Glasgow! Caitlin here reporting for Glasgow World. So I have lived in Deniston for a
00:05 year now. I moved here to the East End last April from Falkirk. I didn't really know anything about
00:10 the area beforehand and I would say that now I am much more accustomed. So focusing on the Duke
00:15 Street end, I'm going to give you a little guide to my favourite spots, mainly food and drink
00:19 related. First up we have Tebow, a lovely little bistro with a good mixture on their menu, great
00:24 coffee, great service. I always feel very looked after here. They have really good vegan options
00:29 and they also do breakfast rolls which are handy if you're on the go. Moving along a bit we have
00:33 Zenor. I tried the pistachio croissant here the other day and it may be the best thing I've ever
00:37 tasted in my life. I also picked up a raspberry matcha with coconut milk today and it was
00:41 delightful. They're famous for their mayatozis but I've never actually made it down early enough to
00:46 get one. The cafe is beautiful as well, especially on a sunny day. One of my favourite things about
00:50 Deniston is their charity shops. The amount of wee gems I've found in here is astonishing.
00:55 I found them to be more reasonable in pricing as well than the West End or Southside. Then there's
01:00 the lovable Rogue. They have a brunch and alacarte menu. On Thursday they do £10 steak frites which
01:06 is a fantastic deal and really good value for money considering they're really really tasty.
01:10 Then on to Mesa, one of my favourite lunch spots in the full of Glasgow. They do a soup and sandwich
01:15 deal which is insane, really good coffee too. Heading down further I am also partial to a
01:20 karaoke night in the Duke Bar. On the other end then, Nakador serves some of the finest Indian
01:24 cuisine. My boyfriend and I will usually get a takeaway because it's always a last minute thing,
01:29 the tables are always booked up. We've also found that because of how big the portions are,
01:34 we can usually share one meal between us and then just get a couple of sides. So it's really good
01:38 value for money, especially because of how much we can actually eat. We then have Redmond's,
01:42 a wee vinyl bar in the corner. Really good vibes in here. They do a quiz every week, there's live
01:47 music, you can even bring your own records to play. They also have a huge selection of draft
01:51 beers and an extensive cocktail menu. I have been turned away from here a few times though,
01:56 if I haven't booked because it's always busy so I would plan ahead for this one.
02:00 Last but not least we have the La Bottega, a Latin cafe and shop. I love it here,
02:05 the coffee never misses. We have lots of tasty pastry-based food options.
