00:00 Hello, wouldn't it be boring if the weather for a bank holiday weekend was simple and
00:06 straightforward. Plenty to keep us on our toes over the next couple of days with a bit
00:11 more uncertainty than usual over the details of the forecast this bank holiday weekend.
00:16 And this is the reason why this area of low pressure, the exact timing of it moving up
00:21 across the UK is still open to doubt. And that means the details of exactly where we're
00:28 going to see the heavy showers this weekend remain elusive. But I think with the low pressure
00:33 generally centred across the south, it's in the southern areas where we are more likely
00:36 to see the heavier downpours, particularly so on Sunday and Monday. Let's try and put
00:42 a little bit of detail on because actually on Saturday, we're going to start with more
00:46 of the cloud and the outbreaks of rain across the northern half of the UK, although yet
00:50 again, the west coast of Scotland and the Western Isles may well stay dry and fine with
00:55 some spring sunshine throughout. Some sunniest bells on Saturday across the Midlands, Wales
01:00 and southern England. But in the far south, we are expecting a scattering of showers to
01:04 develop as we go through the day. Meanwhile, across parts of northern England, southern
01:08 Scotland, good chunk of Northern Ireland generally staying pretty cloudy here with some outbreaks
01:13 of mostly light rain, one or two heavy showers potentially developing over the highlands
01:18 through the afternoon and always these eastern coast susceptible to mist and low cloud. And
01:23 that will, of course, impact the temperature staying pretty cool where it's cloudy on the
01:27 east coast. But a brighter day over the Midlands, South Wales and southern England compared to
01:32 Friday should mean we'll see some temperatures up to 17, 18 degrees and again, some warmth
01:37 on that west coast of Scotland, thanks to a good deal of blue sky here. As for Sunday,
01:43 one increasing chance of seeing more showers developing across parts of the south. Won't
01:47 rain all day. We will again see some sunny spells, but I suspect the driest, brightest
01:52 weather may be for parts of northwest England and again, the far northwest of Scotland,
01:56 although heavy showers are once more possible over the highlands. And again, these eastern
02:00 coasts may stay a little gloomy and as a result, a little bit cool elsewhere. Again, with a
02:06 bit of sunshine, it doesn't feel too bad. Temperatures generally around or a touch above
02:10 average in the sunshine, 17 or 18 Celsius. And then for Monday again, it's looking pretty
02:15 showery across the south. So hit and miss downpours again, some heavy ones possible,
02:21 but equally some sunshine is going to come through at times. This is a few days away
02:26 now. So if you've got plans for Monday, do keep up to date with the forecast. Again,
02:30 quite cloudy, likely on those North Sea coasts and again, parts of the far northwest may
02:35 well do OK for dry and bright weather. Not as warm here as it has been through the week,
02:40 but still temperatures getting mostly with a bit of sunshine up into the mid to high
02:44 teens. As I mentioned, there is still a bit of uncertainty about the details for the weekend.
02:50 So do keep up to date with the very latest. And the best way to do that, of course, is
