Derbyshire County Council Leader Barry Lewis talks about his 'pocket rainforest' project at his Amber Valley Vineyards, at Wessington, Derbyshire.
Transcript
00:00 Hi, I'm Barry Lewis and this is my little pocket rainforest project. As you can see
00:06 we're in our vineyard, we've got lots of trees around us. What we're trying to achieve down
00:11 here is by replanting trees and ferns and things like that, is to recreate something
00:17 that's very, very close to a cool temperate rainforest like you'd find on the west side
00:22 of the country. And what I'm hoping is that in years to come we'll get some benefits for
00:28 our vines because of the ecosystem services, tradeage services going on between the ecology,
00:34 the wildlife, the insects that will bring benefits to our vines as well. So that's the
00:39 hope.
