00:14 Consoni on the wheel of the Malleo Rosa. That is ridiculous. 400 meters to go. Pogacar goes again. He is leading out Jonathan Milan.
00:23 Consoni comes off his wheel. Jonathan Milan. There's Olaf Corrie out of nowhere. Phil Bauhaus also in the mix.
00:29 Kelly Buren was there, but none of them got to Navarez yet. 250, 150 meters for Navarez. They're coming in fast. Milan has left it so, so late.
00:39 Here he comes, the Malleo Ciclomino. Corrie down the middle. Corrie down the middle. Milan for Corrie. Or is it Corrie?
00:46 Corrie. Oh, Corrie puts his arm in the air. That was mighty close.
00:50 Everyone expected this to happen one day. It's your first Grand Tour. Your first Grand Tour win, but a very tight one.
00:59 Yes, this is what we were looking for, to get a stage win. The first two didn't go perfect. Today we had to fight for it because it was a really tough final.
01:13 The team really committed, although we weren't sure before. Because of the guys, I was able to get in position and to take the win.
01:25 We had seen a lot of you already this week at the Giro, but are you a lead-out man now?
01:30 No, no, no. Today was a super hard final. Milano did a super good job to be in the front all the time with us.
01:42 I tried to help, but it was not enough for the victory for Milano. If I can help, especially in this hectic final,
01:56 and these bad roads here, up and down, it's better for me to be in front and help my friend for victory.
02:05 Johnny, something like last year, there was a breakaway rider caught just before the end, and you are second again. Is it frustrating?
02:13 Yes, like last year, second. It was a really tough final, I have to say. I don't know, we tried our best in the final.
02:29 The guys did a perfect lead-out, I think. I think I was missing a bit of legs. As I said, the little climbs were really hurting for me in the final kilometers.
02:48 Luckily, tomorrow we have a rest day. We will see, we will try to rest as much as possible, and we will see for the next stages.
03:01 ...pushing to the line, 200 meters to go, but it's the man in the Malle Rosa who hits the front, and Martinez trying to slay in his slipstream,
03:10 but Pagacar just blasts away from the Colombian, and he's going to make it two wins in two days at the Giro d'Italia.
03:18 Stage win number three, this time on top of the mountain in pink. Martinez and O'Connor close for second and third.
03:30 The second longest stage of the entire Giro d'Italia, 213 kilometers from the start in Abizzano to a finish down on the iconic seafront,
03:38 for the third year in a row of Napoli. An opportunity for the sprinters after three difficult days.
03:44 So a lot at stake for the sprinters, as the flag waved and two riders from Polti Carmetta got away on their own, Andrea Pietrabon and Mirko Maestri.
03:56 Things settled down, eventually behind as they continued to drop down from the Apennines to the coast, passing through Abruzzo and Lazio, and then finally into Campania.
04:05 Maestri and Andrea Pietrabon sharing the spoils.
04:12 All the sprints, though, back-loaded towards the final 82 kilometers of the race, and through the first intermediate sprint at Mondragone,
04:22 it was Pietrabon who took maximum points, but there was a sprint behind for the lower placings, Tim Melia taking third over the first intermediate sprint,
04:30 ahead of Olaf Koei and Jonathan Milan in the Maglia Ciclamino.
04:34 After that, then, it was the Intergiro, and once again the two riders out front, sharing the maximum points of the Intergiro between them, Mirko Maestri crossing the line in first place.
04:51 As they headed towards the only categorized climb of the day, the Cat 4 Monte di Procida,
04:55 Tim Melia was dropped on that climb, one of a number of big-name sprinters to fall away, including Lawrence Pithy of Groupama FTG, who suffered a mechanical.
05:05 Then, on a series of uncategorized climbs, a long way from the finish, Julian Alaphilippe, followed by Nicolo Conchi, went clear and across to the front of the race to join the two riders from Polti Carmetta.
05:18 Still the best part of 27km to go, they were joined by Kevin Wawaka and Louis Askey of Groupama FTG, and those six riders went clear.
05:26 Julian Alaphilippe attacking though, with 21km to go, and he was joined by Ewan Costieux, who counterattacked from the group.
05:33 Then those two riders had had an advantage of 15 seconds that shrank to 10 seconds, with 10km to go, as Lidl Trek started to get organized for Jonathan Milan.
05:44 A last attempt to go clear from Julian Alaphilippe on the final uncategorized climb on the run into Napoli, that failed, and Jonathan Labbaez counterattacked from the bunch,
05:54 and went clear the Ecuadorian, the winner of Stage 1 and the first Maglia Rosa of this edition of the Giro d'Italia.
06:00 With 2.5km to go, he grew his lead, all the way up to 12 seconds as Lidl Trek got their lead out organized.
06:09 We get Pogacar in the mix now, Pogacar sprinting alongside Lidl Trek, Pogacar over the over-sprint, sweeping past the Lidl Trek, Consoni on the wheel of the Maglia Rosa, that is ridiculous!
06:21 400m to go, Pogacar goes again, he is leading out Jonathan Milan, Consoni comes off his wheel, Jonathan Milan, there's Olaf Kori out of nowhere, Phil Bauhaus also in the mix,
06:32 and Elie Buhren was there, but none of them got to Navas yet, 250, 150m for Navas, they're coming in fast, Milan has left it so, so late, here he comes, the Maglia Chico Lidl,
06:43 Kori down the middle, Kori down the middle, Milan for Kori, or is it Koi? Oh, Kori puts his arm in the air, that was mighty close.
06:52 And a first stage win therefore at the Giro d'Italia as the sprinters continue to share out the spoils.
07:13 Pogacar's team mate Juan Sebastián Merlada was in third place, courtesy of a lead out from this man, in an unchanged top 10 on GC, and Jonathan Milan in second place on the stage, but with a handsome lead now in the Maglia Chico Lidl to Caden Groves and Olaf Koi.
07:29 Pogacar continues to hold on to the lead in the climbers competition, no change there in the top 10 with just one short climb, and Uertenbroecks continues with the same advantage in the young riders competition.
