00:00 The Pharmacy of Services and the future prospects of the evolution of health in Lombardy have been the themes at the center of the annual meeting of Federpharma Lombardia,
00:13 held together with European House Ambrosetti, with the non-conditioning contribution of GSK, MSD, Pfizer and Tera.
00:21 The event, entitled "Towards a full implementation of the Pharmacy of Services, which contributes to the improvement of the quality of life of citizens", highlighted the fundamental role played by pharmacies.
00:32 The data show that there are 800,000 patients in Lombardy who go to the pharmacy every day,
00:40 and 184% of patients go to the pharmacy once a month. So the role is important as a lever for the programming and organization of vaccination throughout the year.
00:53 I do not think only of when the need for vaccination is increased, so at the end of the influenza season, I think of anti-influenza and anti-covid vaccinations,
01:04 or the new vaccination that we as a company are bringing against the respiratory and syncytial virus,
01:11 but I also think of vaccines for adults that can and must be de-seasoned, such as the vaccine against the herpes zoster virus.
01:20 In an increasingly connected and close to people health, the regional network of pharmacies, with 14,000 members and more than 3,000 structures,
01:27 has become an increasingly important reference point for Lombard citizens, not only from the point of view of care and services, but also of prevention.
01:39 I think that vaccinating in the pharmacy, of course in agreement with the Lombardy region, is very important.
01:47 Vaccinations in Italy, in pharmacies, started much later than in many other European nations. I remember Portugal, which even vaccinated pharmacists 15 years ago.
01:58 Now we do it, we started doing it during a sad period in our history, which was the covid.
02:04 We can do this type of vaccination, we can vaccinate people against influenza, but how important would it be to vaccinate them, for example, against herpes zoster,
02:13 against HPV, against antipyremic, maybe even for tetanus.
02:18 I think that if we want to do prevention in our country, prevention in the pharmacy, and also in this region, we must increase the possibility that pharmacists can vaccinate.
02:32 To win the challenge of the expansion of the vaccination coverage of the general population,
02:36 with particular reference to the elderly, the frail, the chronic patients, pharmacies can play an important role, as shown by the case of Marche.
02:45 Governor Acquaroli has taken the opportunity to use pharmacists to increase the vaccination coverage,
02:53 and I would say that the experiment, because this is the experiment, has had a very important success.
02:59 What is important to emphasize is the fact that the citizen appreciates this ability to choose the moment of vaccination.
03:08 It is evident that pharmacies with their extended schedules, pharmacists always present on the territory, Saturday, Sunday, holidays, any day of the year,
03:16 are an extraordinary opportunity to raise the vaccination coverage of our country, which objectively is not at fantastic levels.
03:24 fantastic!
