00:00 What is the role of the polygraph in the digital public infrastructure?
00:03 Today we will talk about the role of the polygraph in the digital public infrastructure.
00:09 It is an infrastructure that simplifies the interaction between citizens and companies,
00:16 with public administration between them.
00:19 So it is a digital infrastructure.
00:21 What is the role of the polygraph in guaranteeing these transactions?
00:26 The polygraph will always do this, it guarantees the identity of the citizen.
00:31 We will talk about how this is done, in particular with the digital identity system
00:38 that the polygraph has designed and realized in partnership with CIE.
00:42 We are also bringing this to the wallet, the digital identity wallet,
00:50 which sees the polygraph committed to ensuring the trust, to ensure the identity of the citizen.
00:57 There are many technical challenges, because the wallet is something completely new,
01:04 something that does not yet exist.
01:07 Most of the technological standards were still to be defined when the initiative started,
01:14 and are still in the definition phase.
01:17 It is a great challenge, we are fully committed to this challenge in the design of standards,
01:22 also in the European Union, together with FBK, together with the Department of Digital Transformation.
01:30 It is a great challenge, exciting, very fascinating, I must say.
01:38 Applications, applications of the digital identity wallet,
01:43 it is a new way to authenticate, so it goes beyond the mechanisms we currently have
01:49 for authentication at public services, and it is something that works, we could say, in the digital field,
01:55 that is, both physical and digital.
01:57 So I can present, for example, the license to a police check, all with a single tool.
02:03 In the future there will also be other information on the wallet.
02:08 I can present, for example, my degree, my certificate, my professional certification,
02:16 all with a single tool, so that I can provide this information to those who require it,
02:22 in a secure and authenticated way, so that those who require this information
02:29 can trust absolutely their authenticity, their validity.
02:33 their validity.
