00:00Game number two tonight in the Twin Cities, I hope those mics were hot between the Minnesota
00:09Timberwolves and the Dallas, they were or were not hot?
00:12How hot?
00:13Scale of 1 to 10?
00:14Not hot.
00:15Ah, it's summer, Frizo.
00:16Open up the mics anyway, as we get you set for game number two tonight in the Twin Cities.
00:24It's the Timberwolves and the Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals.
00:28Dallas taking game number one on the road, 108-105, winning outright as a four and a
00:33half point underdog.
00:35But let's start with the actual number here, then, J-Y.
00:38Dallas wins as a four and a half point underdog, and yet the number for game number two is
00:45even stronger in favor of the T-Wolves.
00:48Minnesota, a five and a half point favorite currently for this second game of the WCF.
00:53J-Y, how do you evaluate the market movement entering game number two?
00:59Very simple.
01:00This is a must-win situation for a Minnesota Timberwolves team.
01:03They can't go to Dallas down 0-2.
01:06So I'm not shocked that the number has moved the way it is because if you look at it, folks,
01:13you get a poor effort out of Anthony Edwards.
01:15You get not a great effort out of Carl Anthony Towns, right?
01:19There was already talk, I think, after the game about the fact that they're not playing
01:22with enough pace.
01:23I think people need to realize this.
01:26Minnesota is a very good, actually, I would say a great defensive team, but a guy like
01:31Anthony Edwards needs space, meaning in the secondary break, meaning not a primary break
01:372-on-1, 3-on-1, but a 2-on-2, 3-on-3 situation in the frontcourt where a defense can't get
01:42loaded up and he can shoot the three or has he and get to the hoop.
01:46So I think what you're going to see tonight out of Minnesota, Ben, is I think they want
01:50to be more opportunistic in transition.
01:55Try to get the ball up and down the floor a little bit more so you can get the ball
02:00in space and not let the defense match up.
02:03And let's be honest, folks, you know, it's got to be a great series here.
02:09But the two stars, the superstars, have to show up for Minnesota tonight.
02:14And the big question is, with this pick-and-roll game and the exposing of Rudy Gobert defensively,
02:22what does Coach Finch do?
02:25He's got to go to Nas Reed.
02:27I'll be looking at Nas Reed's points prep, points plus rebounds prep.
02:31And then what happens?
02:33He's got to get more minutes.
02:35Does it mean less minutes for Katt?
02:36I don't think so.
02:38The guy's minute that may go down tonight is Rudy Gobert's.
02:42Take a look at the last two games here and the focus here on Anthony Edwards.
02:45Supreme talent in the NBA, only 22 years old.
02:47He's had some unbelievable playoff performances already.
02:50But the previous two games, Coach, inefficiency comes to mind.
02:5444 minutes, 6 of 24 from the field.
02:56That was in game number 7 versus the Nuggets.
02:58Game number 1 versus the Mavericks, 41 minutes, 6 of 16 from the floor.
03:03If we're looking at the FanDuel Sportsbook to say, how is he going to do tonight?
03:06Well, if you take a look at his points, 27 and a half is his prop.
03:11For me, the minute game 1 got over, I looked at myself and said, I need the stars of the
03:15Timberwolves to play better in game number 2.
03:17And I think they will.
03:18I really love Ant going over 27 and a half points.
03:22If we're taking a look at Minnesota, the two guys at the top end, right, we always look
03:25at Edwards and then Carl Anthony Towns.
03:28What do you expect out of both of these guys tonight in regards to 27 and a half and 20
03:32and a half, respectively, to their points props?
03:36You know, if you start looking at the last 15 games of Anthony Edwards, he's under this
03:41number in 10 out of the last 15.
03:43If you look at head-to-head matchups, it's 6 out of the last 8, he's under this number.
03:47Guys, it don't matter.
03:49Throw the numbers out the window.
03:51If you are Ant Edwards, you got to be ready for this, uber aggressive, really aggressive
03:58early in the game.
03:59Guys, I wonder, and I'm just thinking this out loud as I'm talking to you, maybe the
04:04play is Ant Edwards' first quarter points, kind of what you saw Kyrie do early.
04:10I think he's got to establish himself early.
04:13If I'm Coach Fitch, I'm trying to play, like I said, in transition.
04:16I would look at first quarter points for a guy like Anthony Edwards.
04:21Right now, his prop is at 7 and a half, it's at plus money.
04:24Very simply put, he's got to come out aggressive and look for his shot early and often, and
04:31if anything, try to get to the line by driving, forcing referees to call fouls, put him to
04:37the line.
04:38Maybe someone like Jones Jr. goes to the bench.
04:41Ant Edwards, over his points prop, if you want to cash out early, over 7 and a half
04:45in the first quarter, plus money on Fandle right now.
04:49To JY's point, Anthony Edwards, 33 plus in 3 of the 4 games in the first round series
04:55sweep over Phoenix.
04:56In the 8 games since, though, for Minnesota, only over 27 and a half twice.
05:02When he went over, he scored at least 40, so it was a phenomenal performance that we
05:07remember, but has not often been over 27 and a half.
05:11A small caveat to those 6 unders of his points prop tonight, he has scored 27 two other times.
05:17Of course, JY, both Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, sensational in game 1.
05:23Kyrie, his first time getting to 30 points in this postseason.
05:26Luka Doncic, a game high, 33.
05:30What does the dynamic duo for Dallas do for an encore?
05:34I'm looking at Kyrie, and it's funny, the hot mic thing that we were talking about,
05:39it was really about Kyrie going to Boston in the finals.
05:44So Kyrie is starting to percolate a little bit.
05:48So I think Kyrie's going to be the guy, and I think what I've seen out of Luka is a willingness,
05:53especially last game, to let Kyrie be Batman and let them trade who does it.
06:00And I think what's really amazing, and this is how Dallas did this a couple of years ago
06:05with Brunson and Luka.
06:07One on the first side of the floor, one on the second side of the floor.
06:10Let one cook, other one wait, and then they flip-flop rules.
06:14I like Kyrie to go over his points prop again.
06:17I think they're going to have a hard time checking it, and another guy, you know, I
06:21think is going to be looking at, is I think you have to look at Derek Lively the second.
06:25I got it wrong game one, I'll play a minute.
06:28I think Lively's to play.
06:30I think you keep the line the same if you're Jason Kidd, but you get an uptick in minutes
06:36and Lively, because it seems like when he comes into the game, the energy kind of flips
06:41with this Dallas team.
06:43Lively will be someone I'll be live on tonight.
06:46Eight and a half is the points prop for Derek Lively, the rookie out of Duke, the over even
06:51money plus 100.
06:53Let's show the Western Conference Finals odds and where the series stands entering game
06:58two tonight with the Timberwolves, a five and a half point home favorite.
07:01So we can show the odds, JY can look at them, and then we can get his take and his reaction
07:07on the other side.
07:09Dallas has flipped to the series outright favorite at minus 154, the Timberwolves the
07:15underdog at plus 130.
07:18Are the prices correct?
07:19JY will tell you up next here on the early line.
07:22All right.
07:23So right before the commercial break, we showed you the Western Conference series odds as
07:27things stack up still in the WCF.
07:30Dallas after taking game one on the road as an underdog and an underdog in the series
07:35outright price before the opening game has now flipped to the favorite side when the
07:40Western Conference crowd minus 154, the Timberwolves, despite being a five and a half point home
07:46favorite for game number two, now a series underdog, JY, as you couple it with how long
07:52this series is expected to go six games in the total games market.
07:57Now the shortest number of plus 165.
08:00What did game number one in Dallas winning on the road due to change your outlook for
08:05the WCF?
08:06None.
08:07Seven.
08:08I said seven before, seven now.
08:12The reason why it's six is very simple, folks.
08:15Game seven is going to be in Dallas.
08:17So that's why you're looking at it as six games being the shortest spread because people
08:22think about Dallas winning the game, winning in seven is not the possibility.
08:25But to me, I think this is a seven game series.
08:28As I said beforehand, that was going to be the case.
08:30I'm sticking to it.
08:31My best bet is it goes seven games because I think you're going to have this zigzag theory.
08:36Come on.
08:37I think it's two, two after four games and then it's the best out of three.
08:40And I wouldn't be surprised if home court is held in game five and six and we're looking
08:45at a game seven, two evenly matched teams, two things that are really good defensively.
08:50I think we'll get Minnesota with the win one, one, then the market will probably shift again.
08:55So to me, I think it goes seven games.
