00:00 Hi, welcome to our tiny house living.
00:02 Tara, I'll give you a tour.
00:04 We decided to have this tiny house because
00:15 our old house was being divided
00:19 by my husband's brother.
00:21 So, because it's big,
00:24 we decided that since there are only two of us,
00:28 we are on our retirement age now.
00:30 So, what if we're building a house
00:34 that's small?
00:36 My husband said, "What if we will build a container house?"
00:40 Because it's popular now.
00:42 It's not that expensive
00:44 and it's very easy to maintain.
00:47 This is our dining area.
00:49 As you can see, it is a five-seater table.
00:53 And also, this is our secret storage.
00:57 You thought that it's just a wall.
01:01 But no, it's our pantry.
01:04 As you can see,
01:05 all of our food storage is here.
01:08 And everything.
01:10 And this is my favorite part of the house.
01:14 This is our kitchen top.
01:17 This is our priority because we love to cook.
01:22 This is made of container, 320 footers.
01:25 And then, we took the sides of the two 20-footers
01:29 and then, we compressed it like this.
01:32 The third container van, the 20-footer,
01:36 we made a bedroom.
01:38 Everything is ready-made,
01:40 from windows to doors to almost everything.
01:44 We have our veranda there.
01:46 So, all in all,
01:47 this area is only 55 square meters.
01:51 So, very tiny.
01:53 As you can see, we are building our second floor right now.
01:56 It's under construction.
01:58 It's not yet finished.
01:59 And this is my favorite space of the house
02:02 because it's like a chill spot.
02:04 It's under the tree because, actually,
02:06 our house is built under the tree.
02:08 And as you can see, this is my grandpa in the duyan.
02:12 And come to our patio.
02:15 This is our patio.
02:17 Because our house is tiny,
02:21 we maximize the space.
02:23 So, we have our patio here.
02:25 And I have my dog.
02:27 And this is our extra dining table
02:30 because if we have visitors,
02:31 we hang out here,
02:33 they eat here,
02:34 we open the door here.
02:50 -The maintenance. -The maintenance, too.
02:53 -Yeah, low cost. -The maintenance is really low cost.
02:55 We don't use lights that much
02:57 because you'll see,
03:01 we have big windows, we have big doors.
03:04 This is our main area.
03:06 This is our living room.
03:08 As you can see, it's like a tiny house
03:11 and the couch is big.
03:13 Because, actually,
03:15 we maximized the space.
03:18 So, we have our furniture that we make it look fancy
03:23 because we want comfortable space, right?
03:26 And this is also storage.
03:30 You might think it's a wall, but it's not.
03:32 This is where we put our shoes,
03:34 our hats, and this is our main power
03:37 in our house.
03:45 We spent around
03:48 800 to 900,
03:50 excluding the furniture
03:53 and the fixtures.
03:54 So, 800 to 900 thousand
03:57 because we have three container vans.
03:59 Including the shipping fee.
04:01 Yeah, including the shipping fee
04:03 because we got these container vans from Manila.
04:06 So, we suggest if you're going to have a container van,
04:11 it's under a tree
04:13 or a lot of trees
04:15 because it's very cold.
04:18 Every night, we don't use the air conditioner sometimes
04:21 or the fan because it's too cold.
04:24 Because our container van is under the tree
04:27 and it's surrounded by many trees.
04:29 And we have big windows
04:32 so you can open it.
04:33 The air flow is okay.
04:34 Actually, our walls are double walled.
04:37 After the steel, we put an insulator foam.
04:41 And after the insulator foam,
04:42 we put the wood or the thick wood
04:46 that's the wall of the house.
04:48 And this is my favorite spot in the house
04:50 because it's like a nook.
04:53 Like, every morning,
04:54 this is the best space here
04:56 because the sunrise will hit here
05:01 and I can tank here.
05:04 And let's go to our room.
05:07 To our room, sliding door.
05:10 And as you can see,
05:12 this is one container van.
05:15 Actually, in the living room and dining,
05:18 we have two container vans.
05:21 This is one container van.
05:23 So overall, three container vans.
05:25 We also have shelves here.
05:26 So actually, this is a standing shelf.
05:29 But we think that
05:33 the space in our room won't be consumed.
05:35 So we put it up.
05:36 This is a queen-size bed.
05:39 You can fit a queen-size bed in a one container van.
05:42 So this is our bedroom.
05:45 Actually, on our second floor,
05:46 it's two bedrooms.
05:48 This is the one on the ground floor.
05:49 It's just one bedroom for their mom.
05:51 This is our CR.
05:52 [music]
06:03 It's very comfy, warm, and cozy.
06:06 In the family, it's easier for us to fit in
06:10 because it's small.
06:12 Unlike our previous big van,
06:14 you'll scream, "Eat!"
06:17 You'll scream everywhere
06:19 because there are a lot of rooms.
06:21 But here, everything is intact.
06:24 Like, my mom is in the room,
06:26 and I'm in the living room.
06:29 And when you go out,
06:31 as a family,
06:33 we can fit in.
06:36 We really love the idea of having a tiny house.
06:39 [music]
