00:01 What a sad day in Cowboys Nation, one of the greatest Dallas Cowboys ever.
00:06 And I can argue maybe the greatest offensive lineman ever to play,
00:11 Larry Allen is dead at the age of 52.
00:14 Mike Fisher reporting from Frisco, home of the Dallas Cowboys.
00:17 Larry Allen, a much decorated Hall of Fame player,
00:21 at one time recognized as maybe the strongest player in the NFL,
00:26 which made him one of the strongest players on the planet,
00:30 one of the strongest men on the planet.
00:32 Incredible athleticism and devotion to the cause of greatness for
00:37 the Cowboys was not a first round pick, was not necessarily highly thought of
00:42 across the board coming out of Sonoma State.
00:45 But certainly hit the ground running here as a guy that could play all the positions
00:49 and play them about as well as any cowboy ever played any position.
00:53 The Cowboys themselves make the announcement, Larry Allen and
00:56 his family in Mexico on a vacation over the weekend.
00:59 And suddenly, and we don't know all the details yet, Larry Allen passes away.
01:06 He is leaving behind his wife and his children.
01:12 In the Dallas Cowboys announcement,
01:13 they note that he considered his wife his heart and soul.
01:18 And this much is true too.
01:20 And the Cowboys of that era, who respected Larry Allen for
01:24 being somebody that was pretty no nonsense in a time where and
01:30 an image building time, a marketing minded time, America's team and Hollywood and
01:36 glitz and glamour and the rest, Larry Allen wasn't much of that.
01:41 He had his fun and he had his greatness and he had a time of domination for
01:47 a long time as a member of the Dallas Cowboys.
01:50 Larry Allen, one of the greatest football players to ever sued up,
01:56 dead at 52 with the Cowboys and Frisco Fish out.
