00:00Following his bid for the Cabinet, Vice President Sara Duterte, who could possibly be the opposition,

00:06became furious, according to the former administration's official.

00:11But that opposition has a different meaning, according to the Liberal Party.

00:14Tina Panganiban-Perez has the story.

00:20Vice President Sara Duterte herself said that

00:23President Bongbong Marcos' uni-team was formed in 2022 just for the election.

00:30Now, Vice President Sara Duterte has left the President's Cabinet

00:33and in the midst of the so-called souring of the Marcos family and the Duterte family,

00:39will Vice President Sara Duterte remain as an ally or will she become the opposition?

00:43The opposition has two meanings for the President of the Liberal Party,

00:48the so-called opposition party since 2016.

00:52It can be the opposition because the beliefs and ideologies are different.

00:56It can also be the opposition because the parties are different.

01:00Vice President Sara can assume the partisan opposition to the administration of President Marcos Jr.

01:13But the real opposition, the ideological and consensual opposition,

01:19will remain in the Liberal Party of the Philippines.

01:24Our opposition is both in the current administration and in the breakaway power black of President Duterte.

01:34As of now, I think there is no ideological affinity

01:39between the Liberal Party and Vice President Sara Duterte.

01:43Vice President Duterte has not yet announced her relationship with the President.

01:49But some former officials of the Duterte administration have announced that it is possible for her to become the opposition.

01:56We heard the President's sister, Senator Aimee Marcos, who is known to be close to the Vice President,

02:02but she did not comment.

02:05Former President and now the third Second District Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo,

02:11who is a well-known ally of the Vice President,

02:13said that she is not in a position to comment,

02:16especially since the Vice President did not give a reason why she withdrew from the Cabinet.
