00:00Do you think the plan for National Service will work?
00:02Do you think the plan for National Service will work?
00:05Let's start with the incumbent MP, Stephen Morgan.
00:08No, and I think if this is the sum of the Conservative government's parts,
00:13then I think that shows you the sorry state that our country is in.
00:17I think I'm going to be voting for the Labour Party in the general election.
00:21Why is that?
00:22Well, I think one of the main motivations is just to, you know,
00:26get the Conservative Party out of power.
00:29And in addition, there are a lot of proposals made by the Labour Party,
00:33which I quite like.
00:35For example, like the, let me think, what's it called?
00:38Oh yes, Great British Energy.
00:40I think, you know, having like, you know, a national energy company
00:43alongside private energy companies will be good for both, like,
00:47renewable energy and, like, you know, energy independence and security.
00:53Excellent. And so what are the issues that matter to you the most?
00:56Issues that matter to me?
00:58Yeah, I think that, like obviously as with, like, mentioned with energy,
01:05like, you know, renewable energy, that's quite important.
01:10I think renewable energy is quite important as, like, you know.
01:15Yeah, and I also think, like, you know, just, you know, making things, you know, stable.
01:19You know, like, because the past few years it's been a bit, you know, like frantic, I feel.
01:25Probably Labour.
01:27Yeah.
01:28I don't want the Conservatives in government anymore.
01:31And I think Labour have the best chance of forming government.
01:34However, my local MP is Penny Mordaunt, and I quite like Penny.
01:38So it's going to be down on to election day to decide.
01:42So what are the main issues for you?
01:44Cost of living, definitely, because everything's so expensive
01:47and everything really needs to be sold.
01:49It's not a big thing, but tuition fees.
01:51I'll be going off to university soon, and having to pay so much money is, you know, a real issue.
01:56And then just all this stuff going around the world, Ukraine, Palestine, everything.
02:01I feel like some voice needs to be heard on that.
02:04Do you think most of the parties kind of adequately speak to young people?
02:09I don't think so.
02:11I feel like they focus much more on older, so kind of, say, 30 upwards.
02:16I feel like the young kind of get ignored in favour of the older voters,
02:20because there's more of them, and they vote more often, so they prioritise their interests.
02:24I'm pretty sure I would tactically vote Labour, yeah.
02:27Just want the Tories out, to be honest with you, yeah.
02:30Why is that?
02:31I don't think they've done very good for the last 14 years.
02:34I think we need change, and I think that change is with Labour.
02:37And what issues are important to you heading into this election?
02:41Definitely Palestine, definitely LGBTQ issues.
02:45I mean, as part of the community, that's very important to me.
02:48And I think the Conservatives don't stand for what I believe in on those issues, yeah.
02:54Does Labour stand with you on those issues?
02:56I think in terms of the ceasefire, yes.
02:59LGBTQ issues, I mean, my local MP, Stephen Morgan, he is part of the community,
03:03so I know that he definitely met him at Pride last year, and he's great.
03:07Labour as a whole, I think that with LGBTQ issues,
03:11they're definitely better than the Conservatives, is all I can say on that, really.
03:14Me and Aaron will both be voting for Reform UK.
03:17Why is that?
03:18Because he's my Nigerian brother, and I like his policies.
03:21What policies speak out to you?
03:25I think I like his zero-immigration policies, and I also see him as a Giza, so yeah.
03:32Aaron, would you like to speak?
03:34I think for far too long we've had politicians in Westminster
03:37who have all gone for their own pursuant other than humour,
03:42and I think we finally need some politicians back who will actually put forward
03:46their own interests and the people of Portsmouth,
03:50and I think it's time that we do tackle immigration
03:53with a great sense of legality and humanitarian issues being brought first into account,
04:01and I think that Reform UK have a strategy to tackle immigration
04:04and push back on the illegals that are coming into this country,
04:08and I'm a firm believer in creating new jobs and many new investments
04:12by boosting our manufacturing businesses,
04:14and I think Reform UK are going to absolutely do that.
04:16And free Palestine.
04:18Free Iran.
