00:00Major League Baseball. It's going to be a good weekend here and on Friday,
00:03some of those weather conditions that we watch out for. Yeah, sure. There's
00:06gonna be some rain in the forecast, but primarily we are in hitting weather
00:09season as we're approaching the month of July. Now again, being a fan for
00:13myself of the Philadelphia Phillies, I'm actually scared to handicap the game
00:17today between the Marlins and the Phillies because I don't even know
00:20might be the Lehigh Iron Pigs out here, which is the Phillies affiliate that
00:24might be playing this game tonight with how many injuries they have. Having
00:27said that, well, handicap will go over everything. Let's take a look here.
00:30First game. We'll take a look at 8 10 p.m. Tonight. It's gonna be Cleveland.
00:34It's gonna be Kansas City. Tristan McKenzie is on the mound for the
00:37Guardians Marsh on the mound for Kansas City. And you might be looking at
00:40this number going like, man, Cleveland's one of the best teams in Major League
00:43Baseball. They can be anybody and a de facto pick them, which live at the
00:47Fandul Sportsbook right now is a minus 1 18 price. A total that's listed at
00:519.5. McKenzie hasn't been that great this season. One of those pictures. I
00:55love the fade. So, Joe, will you be fading McKenzie today? Or are you
00:59taking a look saying, boy, I'm getting an unbelievable price on those
01:02Guardians. I'll just take him at any price at this point right now. Who
01:05cares who's on the mound?
01:07Well, a lot of people did that last night, fading walk, uh, and going with
01:12lively and that didn't work out all that well, uh, did it? I did not like
01:16the spot for the Guardians last night, uh, coming out of that series against
01:22Baltimore, which was crazy. They burned the bullpen out in each of those
01:26games over the weekend against Baltimore. Uh, and it ended up. The
01:31bullpen didn't come into play that much yesterday, but neither did the
01:34bats here. I would look towards the Guardians to bounce here. But I think
01:40Donnie, the best way to look at this because Marsh has been getting lit up
01:44to is give me the over. It's Kaufman Stadium on a hot, humid, 90 degree
01:48night there. The ball is going to be flying out. I think I would look
01:52towards a Cleveland Guardians team total over in this one here. Yeah, no,
01:58I agree with you that instance and also it does get hot and heavy out there.
02:02Kaufman at times. See if that plays into tonight. Two pitchers that
02:05certainly are hittable. Let's go to another game. Maybe the direct
02:08opposite here. T Mobile up in Seattle. Not a place where everybody goes like,
02:11Hey man, let me get some runs up there. Why? We just take a look at a game
02:15that's nine and a half this game sevens across the board. That is
02:18Minnesota and Seattle and from a team where the twins yesterday couldn't get
02:22enough of the plate down in the desert. You're going to a different ballpark
02:25against a different picture here. The favorite in this game opened up
02:27overnight for Seattle at the fan. Those sportsbook at a minus 1 18 price that
02:31now sits show at a minus 1 26. So still comparable numbers. If you're looking
02:35at both of these pictures, Gilbert today comes in with a 3.46 X. Fifth
02:39number over the past 60 days. That's very good. By the way, barely over. You
02:44haven't heard his name around a lot. He's been solid here. You know, around
02:47the past 60 days, a little bit high, but his exit numbers at a 3.79. One
02:51of the true pitchers ballparks in Major League Baseball. Who has the
02:54advantage? And also, is this game going to stay under seven? Maybe?
02:59Yeah. Well, I mean, what Logan Gilbert on the hill and you had mentioned
03:03that I don't think he's allowed, uh, over a run in the last what? 16
03:09innings that he has thrown here and you talked about over getting a good and
03:13I'll give you another fun fact in this one here. Do you know the Major League
03:18Baseball team that has the lowest strikeout rate since June 1st? It's the
03:23Minnesota Twins. Uh, so then there's a lot of guys in his twins lineup that
03:28have good career numbers against Logan Gilbert. So I know the easiest. Oh,
03:34give me Logan Gilbert. They were off yesterday. Bullpen is rested. But this
03:40twins lineup is capable of getting to Logan Gilbert. And if it gets to
03:45anything lower, Donny, what is it? Seven now? Yeah, I would look over.
03:49Believe it or not, I would look over here and think maybe we get a few more
03:53runs. I think that number is a little too low. And it's so hard, like even in
03:57the past, let's just let's go back 10 years before we're putting a ghost
04:00runner. Basically, on second base, you look at the seven ago. Okay, if we go
04:03to extras Joe at 2 to 2, you should be fine. You go to extras now. 2 to 2. You're
04:08supposed to score run in each one of your half innings here. That's why, you
04:11know, it's two ground outs at that point. Moving the third, get them in
04:14here. That turns into 3 to 3 and you already lost your total. So when those
04:17totals are so low now with the ghost runner, it gives you those added
04:20advantages of that backboard that you have. If it does get to extra innings.
04:24How about this one? Texas and Baltimore today? 705 start from the charm city
04:29and that will be at Camden Yards. Scherzer on the mound who looked decent
04:32in his last start going up against Suarez. The favorite here. Take a look
04:35at these numbers overnight. Fandle had a minus 1 54 price on the Baltimore
04:40Orioles. That number now a minus 1 38 live and a total of 8.5 across the
04:44board. Sooner than later, Texas is going to have to show up. I like what
04:48I'm seeing out of Baltimore. Now, after that little bit of a lull, are we
04:51trusting Scherzer on the road at this price point?
04:56Scherzer. It reminds me of what we saw with with Garrett Cole, right? A guy
05:01that has not pitched at all. He's got one start under and we saw Cole do
05:07this his second time out right against who the Baltimore Orioles. What they
05:12do, they hit four home runs off him because he wasn't locating the
05:15pitches. Scherzer is the same mold. They're sure is at one start. This
05:19will be a second start off an Orioles lineup that will make him pay for every
05:24mistake he throws. Is he any better than Garrett Cole at this point? The
05:28answer is no, he's not. So advantage Orioles. But I do think the Rangers
05:33will be feisty after getting blown out last night. To me, this is another over
05:37Donnie and a warm human eye to Camden Yards. One of these teams is getting
05:41eight or nine runs here. Take your pick. I think the over is the way to look.
05:46I want to get fired up on this team that loves its overs over the past week
05:50and a half to two weeks. That's the New York Mets because grimace is back in
05:54town tonight. It's Houston versus New York. A total that's listed at eight
05:59and a half. A slight favorite, however, for Blanco and the Houston Astros at a
06:03minus 1 16 price. Both of these teams actually coming in in good form here.
06:07Who wins out? Stroh's Mets.
06:11Yeah, I mean, Quintana on the mound has actually been pretty good as of late,
06:16which is kind of scary here. But 15 and six since June 1st is what the Mets
06:22are. 15 and seven since June 1st. It's what the Astros are. Two guys that have
06:28had some success. Having said that, Yeah, sorry, grimace. I'm going with
06:32Houston in this one here done to bring out the bats here. By the way, I did
06:36appreciate it in that subway series where the Mets were handling their
06:39business. If anybody saw those highlights, which I'm sure a lot of
06:41people did not actually on the field. The rain was coming down. The fans were
06:45enjoying themselves. Even saw one guy, you know, being in that waterfall
06:49effect from the second deck, drinking a beer while getting lambasted with a
06:53ton of water, but also out there grimace in a horrible looking costume.
06:58Which I kind of respect you like if the official grimace was in the building,
07:01that's one thing. But the fans making up grimace costumes and wearing them to
07:05city field. That's tremendous stuff. We'll see if they can beat the Houston
07:08Astros tonight, but much, much more baseball to talk about here as we were
07:12in our number three manner job to get you ready for tonight. A lot of action
07:16and a lot of games to go over. Joe and Donnie, once again, full Major League
07:21Baseball slate tonight, and that starts also up in Boston. That's gonna be San
07:25Diego taking on the Boston Red Sox Vasquez versus Pavetta. One of the
07:30teams, so Joe that I've been watching for the past month now, I like the set
07:34up on what we have for Boston. This was a team that we didn't anticipate to
07:37compete. I want to say that 500 record or better, maybe so making the playoffs.
07:42Boston really wasn't presenting themselves that way, and maybe even the
07:45worst team in the division in the A. L. East. I like a lot of the young
07:48players, but today they're the favorites. Pavetta actually opened up
07:51overnight. Minus 1 54 price. We go live right now to handle. It's still minus
07:561 54 price bouncing back and forth. A total listed at 9.5 Vasquez can be had.
08:02But you trust Boston now that they're priced around that minus 1 50 or higher
08:06market range.
08:08Listen, the Padres had a very successful homestand, right? Six and
08:12one. I think they went. The Red Sox just took three or four, but they've
08:16won eight of their last 10. And it's the way the Red Sox Donnie are winning
08:21games. That is impressive. And what I mean by that is they are absolutely not
08:26a long ball or not team. This is a team that manufacturers runs. They steal
08:31bases. They play small ball. They push guys over on. Boston is a Fenway is a
08:38notorious over par. It's a hitters ballpark here, and yet Boston is doing
08:43it via small ball and a good, good bullpen here. I think it's a fascinating
08:48matchup, but I trust the Boston bats more than I trust the Padres bats on
08:55the road here. So I think Boston is the right side here. I wouldn't even be
09:00opposed to lay the run and a half with Boston here because I think this first
09:03one gets out of hand. Yeah, no doubt about it. Looking for 10 plus runs in
09:07that game to cash in a ticket for the total. One of those guys, you know,
09:10probably in that equation is Raphael Devers, but a lot of good left handed
09:13bats in the lineup today, and certainly they've been performing over the past
09:16month. Let's take a look and go down to Tampa in the trop. It's gonna be the
09:19Washington Nationals taking one of the Tampa Bay Rays. 6 50 p.m. Tonight.
09:23Favorite opened up around that 1 50 price. We're looking live. It's one.
09:26It's 1 56 now at the Fandula Sportsbook, but a total that opened up at seven has
09:30actually risen a half of a run up to 7.5. Parker. Not a lot of statistics
09:35here for the left handed pitcher for the Nationals. Zach Eflin here. We do
09:38know he's a veteran guy at home this year. 31 innings pitched a 2.90 era. It
09:44does get elevated a little bit with his exit number of 4.14, but a minus 1 50
09:48plus price for Tampa Bay. Are we buying or selling on that one today, Joe?
09:54Well, I mean, give Kevin Cash and the Tampa Bay Rays a pretty, uh, you know,
10:00a thumbs up here, Donny. Look over the last couple of weeks and in the month
10:03of June, what this Tampa team has been able to do. I mean, they have turned it
10:07around and mostly not because they have a great bullpen. Well, because the
10:11starting pitching it has been lights out. They're doing it because the bats
10:14have finally woken off seven of their last 10. They've won, and they're doing
10:20that because the hits are starting to come, especially at home here. I like
10:25both of these starting pitchers or the Washington has proved to be pesky. Call
10:30me crazy. I think this is a candidate for an under here tonight. 7.5. I think
10:34Parker and Eflin limit the big hits here. Limit the long balls. Not a great
10:39hitters ballpark, Donny. You know this s O. I think maybe an under is not a bad
10:43way to look. And, you know, when the Nationals come to town, boy, those Tampa
10:47fans are gonna show up to make sure they have that advantage taking place.
10:51We'll see what those numbers look like. What's gonna be higher? 7.5 is a total
10:55or 7.5 is a total fans in the building. But let's get over here. New York and
10:59Toronto. Can the Yankees start their winning ways? Marcus Strowman is gonna
11:03be on the mountain. It actually opened up. Joe, did you know? Minus 26 minus
11:071 26 excuse me as a favorite against Toronto that it's now shifted basically
11:11almost to a de facto pick them as we take a look at live anywhere between
11:15minus 1 15 to minus 1 17. A total listed at 8.5. Here's the issue. Marcus
11:20Strowman splits on the road. Take a look at this, Joe. 45 1 1 3rd innings
11:24pitched here. He's got an era on the road of 2.18. What is X? Fifth number
11:28is a 5.32. Can we trust Marcus Strowman on the road against Toronto in this
11:33game tonight? And quite frankly, can you trust the Yankees at this point?
11:38Well, it's not. It's it's it's tough because I don't think Strowman has
11:43anything to do with this. Can the Yankees score more than two runs? Uh,
11:47that's the bottom line here because they've been outscored the last 3. What?
11:5236 to 5 or something. It's been totally obnoxious here. So if you think the
11:58Yankees batted Kikuchi has gotten banged around here a little bit, giving
12:03up a few runs in his last time out. But honestly, I don't think Strowman is
12:08the key to this. It's the Yankees bats. Having said that, I think Toronto is
12:12still the right side here at home. I think they I think they found
12:15something last night in that game, and maybe their luck is gonna turn around
12:19here. Yeah, Yanks are in a bad way right now, and you know that heavy
12:23public support is gonna come in like, Ah, you say Kikuchi and you're right
12:26about that. By the way, Kikuchi started this season for Toronto like he was
12:29trying to enter into the Cy Young race. It's been a little bit rough going, but
12:33there is a chance tonight and a smaller ballpark to get going. Maybe it is
12:36going to be the Yankees. Do we think we put a ball in that NHL season? Got a
12:40lot more hot topics to talk about. Pete Jensen joins us next. Hopefully we get
12:44the ice advice in just a matter of moments here, but sometimes we just get
12:47some of this stuff and some of these topics that we just got a double down
12:50on. And we were talking about the New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays
12:53here. High expectations for both of these teams coming into the season.
12:57We'll see if the Yankees, who have a very good record right now, can get out
13:01of that malaise. And maybe that does start tonight. But the A. L. East we
13:04knew was going to be tough. And I talked about the Boston Red Sox just a
13:08few short minutes ago, saying with expectations coming out of camp here
13:11were not very good. Once spring training ended, we thought they might
13:14be the doormat here and certainly no chance to make the playoffs and saying,
13:18okay, you're gonna rebuild your farm system. But you can't do that with the
13:21Boston Red Sox. You have a big market here that you're expected to spend big
13:25dollars to counterbalance the Yankees and Toronto on a year to year basis.
13:29And now the Baltimore Orioles. But let's take a look at the A. L. East
13:32odds right now to win it and still rightfully so. It's the Yankees at a
13:35minus 2 30 price. You see the Orioles at a plus 1 65 and then 75 to 1 on the
13:40Boston Red Sox. So essentially it probably is going to come down to a two
13:43team race. How are we feeling now? Because the thing about baseball,
13:47which yesterday for me, loving the Philadelphia Phillies, I'm not feeling
13:51so good about them today. The New York Yankees a week and a half ago, one of
13:54the better teams in Major League Baseball struggling a bit now. Let's
13:57start with the Yankees here. What's the feeling on the Yankees for you and how
14:01we're looking right around mid summer ish
14:04again blip on the radar at this point in the season to have 50 some odd wins be
14:11up at the top of their, you know, 53 and 31. I think the Yankees are gonna be
14:17buyers. I think Baltimore are gonna be buyers here because both of these teams
14:22have had great starts of the season, Donny, but they both have giant warts
14:27that need to be addressed here. So I do think the Yankees, as much as they say
14:32they don't want to spend money, I think they will spend some money here when it
14:38comes time in order to be able to improve that staff. And that's really
14:41that's the one thing immediately with a trade that they will be able to do and
14:46sign a couple of guys that will help that bullpen at the very least. All
14:50right, just got the ice advice there from Pete Jensen out there on the West
14:53Coast for the NHL covering the draft from the sphere. You also had a word
14:56ceremony last night getting the drop on next year's information or who could
15:00possibly win the Stanley Cup. Good times had all around. But let's get back to
15:04Major League Baseball, a lot more games, which includes a West Coast tilt 10
15:0815 p.m. Tonight. That's gonna be the Dodgers and the San Francisco Giants
15:12knack versus Web seven and a half total. That's actually up from overnight here
15:17at the fan blue sports book that was listed at a seven de facto pick them
15:21minus 1 10 minus 106 Dodgers Giants rivals. Who gets it done tonight? Joe
15:26Ranieri.
15:28Well, the San Francisco Giants have not won a series against the Dodgers since
15:33I think 2021 Donnie. But this might be their best shot to get off to a good
15:38start with their race. Logan Web going up against the Dodgers who are
15:42introducing their rookie right handed pitcher Linden Knack here tonight. I
15:48thought San Francisco played really well over the weekend against the Cubs.
15:52They let one get away there last night, but I still think the Dodgers are
15:56trying to figure some things out here without life after Mookie Betts. So I
16:01do think if they're gonna win one, this is the game that you want to back the
16:05Giants here tonight in order to get done going up against the rookie
16:08pitcher for the Dodgers.
16:11Yeah, let's get to this next one, which this is a very interesting handicap
16:14because this roster is not gonna look nearly what it was last night. We're
16:17talking about the Philadelphia Phillies. So if we're looking from a Marlins
16:19perspective, how about this? The overnight line? Let's just say nobody
16:23got hurt for the Phillies. Schwerber Harper. They're all gonna be in the
16:26lineup today. That was a minus 3 10 price at the fan blue sports book. It's
16:30down to minus 2 30, which still seems a lot. You see the graphic as it's
16:34coming down from that 2 40 price, a total of 8.5 for a game that Sanchez
16:38has been very good on the season. And by the way, a 2 62 era over the past 60
16:42days and a 3.18 exit, which is tremendous. But how do you approach a
16:46game like this? Knowing that Philly's lineup might look like a triple a
16:50lineup tonight and still laying over a 2 32 40 price.
16:55Well, you can't, right? I mean, that's the that's the bottom line. I mean,
16:59that's too much change too quickly here for for that team and give listen,
17:04give the Marlins credit, right? They are feisty. They're not a very good
17:08team, but I don't think Philadelphia thought they'd wake up today losing
17:13last night and also having a million question marks about who in the heck
17:17is gonna be in the lineup here tonight. So they are still have the pitching
17:21advantage with Sanchez. So if I'm looking at anything, I'm probably
17:25looking to back Philadelphia early, maybe in a first five here to have a
17:29lead heading into the sixth. It's such a good point you bring up because
17:33again, price points are going to change. We understand that a lot of
17:35good players won't be in the lineup for the Philadelphia Phillies, but it's
17:37still the Marlins and still on the road at this point. So even that, you know,
17:41sharp handicap was like, you know what? Everybody's probably I can't take the
17:44Phillies. I gotta take the Marlins at this price. Sometimes, Joe, as we say,
17:47we know how this game is going to play out. So at this point now, there's a
17:51couple more games on the card, but we like to give the people something to
17:55chew on tonight. Yesterday, my RBI prop didn't cash in because my Atlanta
17:59Braves didn't square a single run yesterday. Hopefully that changes
18:02today. But Joe Ranieri tonight, Major League Baseball landscape. Where are we
18:06going for a best bet? You have one for the people out here.
18:10Yeah, and I'm gonna go to that Bay Area. I am gonna go to the Giants, who I
18:16think this game means a lot more to them. They know the history. They have
18:21not been great against the Dodgers, but I think timing is everything. I think
18:26having Webb on the mound here tonight up against the Dodgers, he knows him
18:30very well on the rookie coming to the mound in not exactly an easy place to
18:35play there. The Giant fans will be in full force. So will the Dodger fans. I
18:40think the edge at a really good price goes to the Giants in this one. If I'm
18:44taking a look at this Major League Baseball card today and again, I like
18:47to take a look at picture statistics here, generally from a 60 day window.
18:51Don't care what you did at the late parts of March or early parts of April.
18:54What are you doing for me now? The bottom three cards on my picture today
18:57with X Fips above five over the past 60 days, regardless of where they pitch
19:01Joe Homer away. Those three pictures, Marcus Stroman, Dakota Hudson and J. P.
19:06Sears. That's the Yankees. That's the Rockies, and that's the Oakland
19:09Athletics. So if I'm looking today and saying, you know, Kikuchi did have an
19:13unbelievable start to the season, struggling a little bit as of late. I
19:17see that eight and a half and say sooner or later, those bats, yes, will
19:20start get going for the New York Yankees. But at the same time, I take
19:24a look at the Toronto Blue Jays here and say that will be able to hit
19:27Stroman. Even though I told you his road split, it's got a very good E. R.
19:30A. That extra high X, which means fly balls have been in the air. Maybe
19:35George Springer woke up yesterday. Maybe Vladimir Guerrero is like, Hey,
19:38before you trade me, let me get some extra R. B. I. Before I'm out of town,
19:41I think we get a total going over that eight and a half number between the
19:46Yankees and the Blue Jays, starting at 708 up in the six
