00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, peace be with you.
00:20We acknowledge our sins, we acknowledge the compassion, the mercy, and the love of God.
00:26In God we forgive our sins, Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have mercy.
00:34May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and lead us into healing and
00:41life everlasting.
00:42Let us pray.
00:44O God, who through the grace of adoption chose us to be children of light, grant, we pray,
00:51that we may not be wrapped in the darkness of error, but always be seen to stand in the
00:56bright light of truth.
00:58Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of
01:03the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
01:09Amen.
01:12A reading from the Prophet Amos.
01:16Amaziah, the priest of Bethel, sent word to Jeroboam, king of Israel, as follows.
01:24Amos is plotting against you in the heart of the house of Israel.
01:30The country can no longer tolerate what he keeps saying, for this is what he says, Jeroboam
01:37is going to die by the sword, and Israel go into exile far from its country.
01:45To Amos, Amaziah said, Go away, seer, get back to the land of Judah, earn your bread
01:54there, do your prophesying there.
01:58We want no more prophesying in Bethel, this is the royal sanctuary, the national temple.
02:07I was no prophet, neither did I belong to any of the brotherhoods of prophets, Amos
02:14replied to Amaziah.
02:17I was a shepherd and looked after sycamores, but it was the Lord who took me from herding
02:23the flock, and the Lord who said, Go prophesying to my people Israel.
02:31So listen to the word of the Lord.
02:34You say, do not prophesy against Israel, utter no oracles against the house of Isaac.
02:42Very well, this is what the Lord says, your wife will be forced to go on the streets,
02:49your sons and daughters will fall by the sword, your land be parceled out by measuring line,
02:57and you yourself die on unclean soil, and Israel will go into exile far distant from
03:03its own land.
03:07The word of the Lord, thanks be to God.
03:11The judgments of the Lord are true, and all of them just.
03:15The judgments of the Lord are true, and all of them just.
03:20The law of the Lord is perfect, it revives the soul.
03:24The rule of the Lord is to be trusted, it gives wisdom to the simple.
03:29The judgments of the Lord are true, and all of them just.
03:35The precepts of the Lord are right, they gladden the heart.
03:46The command of the Lord is clear, it gives light to the eyes.
03:51The judgments of the Lord are true, and all of them just.
03:56The fear of the Lord is holy, abiding forever.
04:00The decrees of the Lord are truth, and all of them just.
04:05The judgments of the Lord are true, and all of them just.
04:10They are more to be desired than gold, than the purest of gold, and sweeter are they than
04:16honey, than honey from the comb.
04:20The judgments of the Lord are true, and all of them just.
04:29Alleluia, Alleluia.
04:31God was in Christ to reconcile the world to himself, and the good news of reconciliation
04:37has been entrusted to us.
04:39Alleluia.
04:42The Lord be with you.
04:44A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
04:48Glory to you, O Lord.
04:51Jesus got into the boat, crossed the water, and came to his own town.
04:56Then some people appeared, bringing him a paralytic, stretched out on a bed.
05:02Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic,
05:05Courage, my child, your sins are forgiven.
05:10And then this, some scribes said to themselves,
05:13This man is blaspheming.
05:15Knowing what was in their hearts and their minds, Jesus said,
05:21Why do you have such wicked thoughts in your hearts?
05:25Now which of these is easier to say?
05:28Your sins are forgiven?
05:30Or to say, get up and walk?
05:33But to prove to you that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,
05:38he said to the paralytic, Get up, pick up your bed, and go home.
05:44And the men got up and went home.
05:47A feeling of awe came over the crowd when they saw this,
05:51and they praised God for giving such power to men.
05:56The Gospel of the Lord.
05:58Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
06:09People in the first reading refused to acknowledge God's Word for what it was.
06:16They wanted to do their own thing.
06:19In the Gospel, Jesus, who has now, by now, been healing and doing things,
06:26is challenged.
06:30His challenge, and he proves his challenge as wrong.
06:36We are called to say amen to God.
06:40To trust, not just when our head can wrap itself around what is going on,
06:46but to trust that God is with us always, as indeed God is.
06:51In every encounter, in every challenge of life, we are never alone.
06:56So we trust, we walk in faith as we encounter our daily challenges.
07:03Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
07:06for through your goodness we have this bread to offer,
07:09which earth has given you and hence have made.
07:11It will become for us the bread of life.
07:14Blessed be God forever.
07:33Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation,
07:36for through your goodness we have this wine to offer,
07:39fruit of divine work of human hands.
07:42It will become our spiritual drink.
07:44Blessed be God forever.
07:48Let us pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours
07:51may be acceptable to God, our Almighty Father.
07:54May the Lord accept the sacrifice at our hands
07:57to the praise and glory of God's name,
08:00for our good and the good of God's holy church.
08:04Amen.
08:18O God, who graciously accomplished the effects of your mysteries,
08:22grant, we pray, that the deeds by which we serve you
08:25may be worthy of these sacred gifts.
08:28Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
08:34The Lord be with you.
08:36Lift up your hearts.
08:39Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God.
08:42It is truly right and just, much more than a duty,
08:45and good for our salvation, always and everywhere
08:48to give you thanks, Father Most Holy,
08:50to your beloved Son, Jesus Christ,
08:53your Word, whom you made all things,
08:55whom you sent as our Savior and Redeemer,
08:57incarnate by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin.
09:01Fulfilling your will and gaining for you a holy people,
09:04he stretched out his hands as he endued his passion,
09:07so as to break the bonds of death and manifest the resurrection.
09:11And so, with the angels and all the saints,
09:14we declare your glory, as with one voice we acclaim.
09:18Holy, holy, holy Lord God of hosts,
09:22heaven and earth are full of your glory.
09:24Hosanna in the highest.
09:26Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
09:29Hosanna in the highest.
09:44You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.
09:47Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
09:50by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall,
09:53that they may become for us
09:55the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
09:58At the time he was betrayed
10:00and entered willingly into his passion,
10:02he took bread, and giving thanks, broke it,
10:06and gave it to his disciples, saying,
10:08Take this, all of you, and eat of it,
10:11for this is my body, which will be given up for you.
10:21In a similar way, when supper was ended,
10:24he took the chalice, and once more giving thanks,
10:28he gave it to his disciples, saying,
10:30Take this, all of you, and drink from it,
10:33for this is the chalice of my blood,
10:36the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
10:39which will be poured out for you and for many
10:42for the forgiveness of sins.
10:44Do this in memory of me.
10:53The mystery of faith.
10:55When we eat this bread and drink this cup,
10:58we proclaim your death, O Lord, until you come again.
11:03Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial
11:05of his death and resurrection,
11:07we offer you, Lord, the bread of life
11:09and the chalice of salvation,
11:11giving thanks that you have held us worthy
11:14to be in your presence and minister to you.
11:17Humbly we pray that, partaking of the body
11:20and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one
11:23by the Holy Spirit.
11:25Remember, Lord, your Church, spread throughout the world,
11:28and bring her to the fullness of charity.
11:31Together with Francis our Pope,
11:33meet your unworthy servant,
11:36Eugene our Emeritus Bishop,
11:38all the clergy who serve your people,
11:41and the entire family your Son has gained for you.
11:45Remember also our brothers and sisters
11:47who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection,
11:51and all who have died in your mercy.
11:54Welcome them into the light of your face.
11:57Have mercy on us all, we pray,
12:00that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
12:03Blessed Joseph, her spouse,
12:05with the blessed apostles and all the saints
12:08who have pleased you throughout the ages,
12:10we may, through your grace, merit to be coerced
12:13to eternal life, and may praise and glorify you
12:16through your Son, Jesus Christ.
12:22Through him, and with him, and in him,
12:24O God, Almighty Father,
12:26in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
12:28all glory and honor is yours forever and ever.
12:31Amen.
12:33At the Savior's command, and formed by divine teaching,
12:36we dare to say,
12:38Our Father, who art in heaven,
12:40hallowed be thy name.
12:42Thy kingdom come.
12:44Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
12:48Give us this day our daily bread,
12:50and forgive us our trespasses,
12:53as we forgive those who trespass against us,
12:56and lead us not into temptation,
12:58but deliver us from evil.
13:00Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil.
13:03Graciously grant peace in our days,
13:06that by the help of your mercy,
13:08we may be always free from sin
13:10and safe from all distress,
13:12as we await the blessed hope
13:14and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
13:18For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours,
13:21now and forever.
13:23Lord Jesus Christ, we say to your apostles,
13:27Peace I leave you, my peace I give you.
13:29Look not on our sins,
13:31but on the faith of your church,
13:33and graciously grant them peace and unity,
13:36in accordance with your will,
13:38who live and reign forever and ever.
13:41Amen.
13:42The peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you always.
13:45Let us offer each other a sign of peace.
13:48Peace be with you all.
13:52Lamb of God,
13:53you take away the sins of the world,
13:56have mercy on us.
13:58Lamb of God,
13:59you take away the sins of the world,
14:01have mercy on us.
14:03Lamb of God,
14:04you take away the sins of the world,
14:07grant us peace.
14:24Behold the Lamb of God,
14:26who takes away the sins of the world,
14:28happy are those who are called to the supper of the Lamb.
14:31Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof,
14:34but only say the word,
14:36and my soul shall be healed.
14:41My Jesus,
14:42I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
14:46I love you above all things,
14:48and I desire to receive you into my soul.
14:51Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
14:54come at least spiritually into my heart.
14:57I embrace you as if you were already there,
15:00and unite myself wholly to you.
15:03Never permit me to be separated from you.
15:06Amen.
15:07Let us pray.
15:22May this divine sacrifice we have offered and received
15:25fill us with life, O Lord, we pray,
15:28sent bound to you with lust in lusty charity,
15:32who may bear fruit that lasts forever.
15:35Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
15:37The Lord be with you,
15:39and may the peace and the blessing of the Father and of the Son
15:42and of the Holy Spirit come upon you and remain always with you.
15:46Let us go and live the gospel.
15:49Thanks be to God.
15:51God bless your day.
