00:00In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. The Lord be with you.
00:19Greetings to you and welcome, dear friends, wherever you may be joining today for this
00:26celebration of the Holy Eucharist. Greetings to you at home, those of you who are watching
00:30this online at the moment. We celebrate today the memory of St. Maximilian Mary Kolbe,
00:36a Polish Franciscan friar and priest who gave his life in the place of a father of a family
00:44and has been known as a martyr of charity. We pray through his intercession that
00:48our trust in God and in Mary Immaculate will continue to grow, but also we may grow in that
00:55loving charity towards others. We now acknowledge our sins, dear friends, as we stand in God's
01:01presence, knowing that this God of ours is God who loves and forgives and wants to bring us
01:09into the fullness of life. You were sent to heal the contrite of heart, Lord have mercy.
01:18You came to call sinners, Christ have mercy. You are seated at the right hand of the Father
01:24to intercede for us, Lord have mercy. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins,
01:32and bring us to everlasting life. Let us pray. O God who filled the priest and martyr St. Maximilian
01:40Kolbe with a burning love for the Immaculate Virgin Mary and with zeal for souls and love of neighbor,
01:48graciously grant through his intercession the striving for your glory by eagerly serving others
01:55we may be conformed even until death to your Son
01:58who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God forever and ever.
02:08A reading from the Prophet Ezekiel. As I, Ezekiel, listened, God shouted,
02:15Come here, you scourges of the city, and bring your weapons of destruction.
02:20Immediately six men advanced from the upper north gate, each holding a deadly weapon.
02:27In the middle of them was a man in white with a scribe's inkhorn in his belt.
02:32They came in and halted in front of the bronze altar. The glory of the God of Israel rose off
02:39the cherubs where it had been and went up to the threshold of the temple.
02:45He called the man in white with a scribe's inkhorn in his belt and said,
02:50Go all through the city, all through Jerusalem, and mark a cross on the foreheads of all who
02:57deplore and disapprove of all the filth practiced in it. I heard him say to the others, Follow him
03:04through the city and strike. Show neither pity nor mercy. Old men, young men, virgins, children,
03:12women, kill and exterminate them all, but do not touch anyone with a cross on his forehead.
03:20Begin at my sanctuary. So they began with the old men in front of the temple. He said to them,
03:27Defile the temple, fill the courts with corpses and go. They went out and hacked their way through
03:33the city. The glory of the Lord came out from the temple threshold and paused over the cherubs.
03:41The cherubs spread their wings and rose from the ground to leave.
03:45And as I watched the wheels and as I watched the wheels rose with them, they paused at the
03:51entrance to the east gate of the temple of the Lord and the glory of the God of Israel hovered
03:57over them. This was the creature that I had seen supporting the God of Israel beside the river
04:03Kebar. And I was now certain that these were cherubs. Each had four faces and four wings and
04:11what seemed to be human hands under their wings. Their faces were just as I had seen them beside
04:17the river Kebar. Each moved straight forward. The word of the Lord. Our response is Alleluia.
04:28Praise, O servants of the Lord. Praise the name of the Lord. May the name of the Lord be blessed
04:33both now and forevermore. Alleluia. From the rising of the sun to its setting, praise be the
04:40name of the Lord. High above all nations is the Lord. Above the heavens his glory. Alleluia.
04:47Who is like the Lord our God, who has risen on high to his throne, yet stoops from the heights
04:53to look down, to look down upon heaven and earth. Alleluia.
04:59Alleluia, Alleluia. God was in Christ to reconcile the world to himself
05:04and the good news of reconciliation he has entrusted to us. Alleluia.
05:13The Lord be with you. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
05:22Jesus said to his disciples, If your brother does something wrong, go and have it out with
05:29him alone between your two selves. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother. If he
05:36does not listen, take one or two others along with you. The evidence of two or three witnesses
05:42is required to sustain any charge. But if he refuses to listen to these, report it to the
05:48community. And if he refuses to listen to the community, treat him like a pagan or a tax collector.
05:56I tell you solemnly, whatever you bind on earth shall be considered bound in heaven.
06:01Whatever you loose on earth shall be considered loosed in heaven. I tell you solemnly once again,
06:07if two of you on earth agree to ask anything at all, it will be granted to you by my Father in
06:13heaven. For where two or three meet in my name, I shall be there with them. The Gospel of the Lord.
06:33Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the bread
06:37we offer you, food of the earth and work of human hands. It will become for us the bread of life.
06:43Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the wine
07:05we offer you, fruit of the vine and work of human hands. It will become for us our spiritual drink.
07:13Amen.
07:29Of course, dear friends, we offer this sacrifice of the Mass for your intentions. In a special way,
07:36we are praying for the speedy recovery of Colleen Thompson. Pray, brothers and sisters, that my
07:41sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the Almighty Father.
07:51We present our oblations to you, O Lord, humbly praying that we may learn from the example of
07:56Saint Maximilian to offer our very lives to you, through Christ our Lord. The Lord be with you.
08:05Lift up your hearts. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is truly right and just,
08:13our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere, to give you thanks, Lord Holy Father, Almighty
08:19and Eternal God. For the blood of your blessed martyr Maximilian Mary, poured out like Christ
08:25to glorify your name, shows forth your marvelous works, by which in our weakness you perfect your
08:32power, and on the feeble, bestows strength to bear you witness through Christ our Lord.
08:38And so, with the powers of heaven, we worship you constantly on earth, and before your majesty,
08:44without end we acclaim. Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of your glory.
08:53Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.
09:02You are indeed holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness. Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray,
09:08by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that they may become for us the body
09:14and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his
09:21passion, he took bread, and giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:27Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you.
09:57In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, and once more giving thanks,
10:03he gave it to his disciples, saying, Take this, all of you, and drink from it,
10:08for this is the chalice of my blood, the blood of the new and eternal covenant,
10:13which will be poured out for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me.
10:28Amen.
10:45The mystery of faith. When we eat this bread and drink this cup, we proclaim your death, O Lord,
10:51until you come again. Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection,
10:57we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you
11:02have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you. Humbly we pray that,
11:08partaking of the body and blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
11:14Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world, and bring her to the fullness of charity,
11:19together with Francis our Pope and Charles our Bishop and all the clergy.
11:24Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection,
11:29and all who have died in your mercy. Welcome them into the light of your face.
11:34Have mercy on us all, we pray, that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
11:39with blessed Joseph, her spouse, with the blessed apostles and all the saints who have pleased you
11:45throughout the ages, we may merit to be coheirs to eternal life and may praise and glorify you
11:50through your Son, Jesus Christ. Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, Almighty Father,
11:59in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, forever and ever. Amen.
12:09At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to say,
12:14Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come,
12:19thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us
12:25our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation,
12:31but deliver us from evil. Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil. Graciously grant peace
12:37in our days, that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress,
12:44as we await the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
12:53Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles, Peace I leave you, my peace I give you.
12:58Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your church, and graciously grant her peace and unity
13:04in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever. The peace of the Lord be with you always.
13:11Let us offer each other the sign of peace. Peace be with you.
13:25Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the
13:32sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.
13:41Amen.
13:58Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world.
14:03Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter
14:09under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed. My Jesus, I believe that you are
14:18present in the most blessed sacrament. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you
14:23into my soul. Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into
14:30my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there, and unite myself wholly to you. Never
14:37permit me to be separated from you. Amen. Let us pray.
14:44We pray, O Lord, that renewed by the body and blood of your Son, we may be inflamed with the
14:50same fire of charity that Saint Maximilian received from this holy banquet through Christ our Lord.
14:58Dear friends, thank you for your prayerful company today. May Saint Maximilian pray for you and I,
15:04so that we can be, you know, faithful witnesses to the Lord today in the world, wherever we may be.
15:10The Lord be with you. May Almighty God bless you, the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
15:18Go and announce the gospel of the Lord.
