00:00In the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and by the grace of our Lord
00:19Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
00:23We come to pray to give thanks to God. Let us call to mind our sins.
00:29I confess to Almighty God, and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned,
00:43in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and what I have failed to do.
00:49Through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault,
00:54may Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting life.
01:09Lord have mercy. Christ have mercy. Lord have mercy.
01:18O God, author of innocence and lover of chastity, who bestowed the grace of martyrdom on your
01:30handmaid, Saint Virgin Maria Peretti, in her youth, grant we pray to her intercession,
01:38that as you gave her a crown for her steadfastness, so we too may be firm in obeying your commandments
01:48through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
01:53God, forever and ever.
01:55First reading. Amos 9 verses 11 to 15.
02:02Thus says the Lord. On that day I will raise up the fallen hut of David. I will wall up its breaches,
02:12raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old, that they may conquer what is left of Edom,
02:21and all the nations that shall bear my name. Say I, the Lord, who will do this? Yes, days are coming.
02:31Says the Lord. When the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the vintager, him who sows the seed,
02:39the juice of grapes shall drip down the mountains, and all the hills shall run with it. I will bring
02:47about the restoration of my people Israel. They shall rebuild and inhabit their ruined cities,
02:54plant vineyards and drink the wine, set out gardens and eat the fruits. I will plant them
03:02upon their own ground. Never again shall they be plucked from the land I have given them. Say I,
03:10the Lord, your God. The word of God. Thanks be to God.
03:16Responsorial Psalm. The Lord speaks of peace to his people.
03:22The Lord speaks of peace to his people. I will hear what God proclaims.
03:28The Lord for he proclaims peace to his people. Near indeed is his salvation to those who fear him.
03:36Glory dwelling in our land. The Lord speaks of peace to his people.
03:42Kindness and truth shall meet. Justice and peace shall kiss.
03:47Truth shall spring out of the earth. And justice shall look down from heaven.
03:53The Lord speaks of peace to his people. The Lord himself will give his benefits.
04:00Our land shall yield its increase. Justice shall walk before him.
04:07And salvation along the way of his steps. The Lord speaks of peace to his people.
04:13Alleluia! Alleluia! My sheep hear my voice, says the Lord.
04:19I know them, and they follow me. Alleluia! Alleluia!
04:25The Lord be with you. And with your spirit.
04:30Reading from the Holy Gospel. According to Matthew.
04:34Glory to you, O Lord.
04:37The disciples of John approached Jesus and said,
04:42Why do we and the Pharisees fast much? But your disciples do not fast.
04:48Jesus answered them, Can the wedding guests mourn?
04:52As long as the bridegroom is with them.
04:55The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them.
05:00And then they will fast. No one patches an old cloak with a piece
05:04of unshrunken cloth. For its fullness pulls away from the cloak
05:09and the tear gets worse. People do not put new wine into old wineskins.
05:15Otherwise the skins burst, the wine spills out, and the skins are ruined.
05:21Rather, they pour new wine into fresh wineskins, and both are preserved.
05:27The Gospel of the Lord. Praise you, Lord Jesus Christ.
05:42Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received
05:45the bread we offer you, fruit of the earth and work of human hands.
05:49It will become for us the bread of life.
05:51Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received
06:07the wine we offer you, fruit of the vine and work of human hands.
06:11It will become our spiritual drink.
06:21I pray, my brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God,
06:30our Almighty Father.
06:41May the offerings we bring in celebration of Blessed Maria Beretti
06:45wean your gracious acceptance, O Lord, we pray,
06:48just as the struggle of her suffering and passion was pleasing to you through Christ our Lord.
06:57The Lord be with you. Lift up your hearts.
07:02Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God.
07:06It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere to give you
07:10thanks, Lord, Holy Father, Almighty, Eternal God, for the blood of the blessed martyr Maria Beretti
07:17poured out by Christ to glorify your name, show forth your marvellous works, by which in our
07:23weakness you perfect your power, and on the feeble we shall strengthen to bear your witness through
07:28Christ our Lord, and so with the powers of heaven we worship you constantly on earth,
07:33and before your majesty without end we acclaim.
07:48Amen.
07:53Another great quote from one of the fathers of the church, Saint Irenaeus.
07:57Irenaeus, born in the year 140, he said,
08:02Just as the bread which comes from the earth, having received the invocation of God,
08:07is no longer ordinary bread, the Eucharist consisting of two realities, earthly and heavenly,
08:15so our bodies, having received the Eucharist, are no longer corruptible,
08:19because they have the hope of the resurrection.
08:24You are indeed holy and be glorified, O God, for love of the human race,
08:28and who always walk with us on the journey of life.
08:30Blessed indeed is your Son, present in our midst when we are gathered by his love,
08:34and when he is once for his disciples and not for us, he opens the scriptures and breaks the bread.
08:40Therefore, Father, most merciful, we ask that you send forth your Holy Spirit
08:44and sanctify these gifts of bread and money, that they may become for us
08:48the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
08:51On the day before he was to suffer, on the night of the Last Supper,
08:55he took bread and sent a blessing, broke the bread and gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:01Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for you.
09:14In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice, gave it thanks,
09:18and gave the chalice to his disciples, saying,
09:20Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood,
09:25the blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many
09:31for the forgiveness of sins. Do this in memory of me.
09:36In memory of me.
09:44The mystery of faith.
09:46Save us, Savior of the world, for by your cross and resurrection you have set us free.
09:53Therefore, Holy Father, as we celebrate the memorial of Christ, your Son, our Savior,
09:57whom you led through his passion and death on the cross to the glory of the resurrection,
10:00and whom you have seated at your right hand, we proclaim the work of your love until it comes
10:05again, and we offer you the bread of life and the chalice of blessing. Look with favor on the
10:10oblation of your Church, in which we show forth the pastoral sacrifice of Christ that has been
10:14handed down to us, and granted by the power of the Spirit of your love, we may be counted down
10:20unto the day of eternity among the members of your Son, in whose body and blood we have communion.
10:26By our partaking of this mystery, Almighty Father, give us life through your Spirit,
10:30granted we may be conformed to the image of your Son, and confirm us in the bond of communion,
10:35together with Francis our Pope, Louis our Bishop, with all other bishops, with priests and deacons,
10:41and with your entire people, granted all the faithful of the Church, looking into the signs
10:46of the times by the light of faith, may constantly devote themselves to the service of the Gospel.
10:51Keep us attentive to the needs of all, that sharing their grief and pain, their joy and hope,
10:56we may faithfully bring them the good news of salvation, and go forward with it along the way
11:01of your kingdom. Remember our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep in the peace of your Christ,
11:07and all the dead whose faith you alone have known. Admit them to rejoice in the light of your face,
11:12and in the resurrection give them the fullness of life. Grant also to us when our earthly pilgrimage
11:18is done, that we may come to an eternal dwelling place and live with you forever, there in communion
11:23with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with Blessed Joseph, her spouse, with the Apostle
11:28Margaret, with Saint Maria Goretti, and with all the saints, we shall praise and exalt you
11:35through Jesus Christ, your Son. Through him, and with him, and in him, O God, Almighty Father,
11:41in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honor is yours, forever and ever.
11:53Amen.
11:57At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching, we dare to pray.
12:24Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil. Graciously grant peace in our days,
12:28that by the help of your mercy we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress,
12:33as we awake the blessed hope and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
12:41Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles, peace I leave you, my peace I give you,
12:46look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and graciously grant her peace and unity
12:51in accordance with your will, who live and reign forever and ever.
12:56Amen.
12:56May the peace of the Lord be with you always.
12:59And with your spirit.
13:01Let's offer each other a sign of Christ, peace and peace, Father.
13:10Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
13:15Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us.
13:20Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.
13:26Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world.
13:31Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
13:34Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof,
13:38but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
13:41May the body and blood of Christ be with you, saved for eternity.
13:44Amen.
13:45My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
13:50I love you above all things and I desire to receive you into my soul.
13:55Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.
14:01I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you.
14:06Never permit me to be separated from you.
14:09Amen.
14:11Let us pray.
14:12Oh God, bestow on our blessed Maria Berenice a crown among the saints
14:17for her twofold triumph of virginity and martyrdom.
14:21Grant, we pray, to the power of this sacrament, that bravely overcoming every evil,
14:26we may attain the glory of heaven through Christ our Lord.
14:30Amen.
14:31The Lord be with you.
14:32And with your spirit.
14:33And may almighty God bless you, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
14:38Amen.
14:39Please glorify the Lord by your life.
