Les prétendantes à un bon classement général avaient donc déjà un rendez-vous important à négocier, et c'est l'une des grandes favorites pour la victoire finale, Elisa Longo Borghini (Lidl-Trek), qui a réalisé le meilleur temps et décroche ainsi le premier maillot rose de cette édition 2024 ! La septuple championne d'Italie du chrono a effectué les 15,7 kilomètres du parcours en 20 minutes et 37 secondes, soit 1 seconde de mieux que la double vice-championne du monde de l'exercice en solitaire, l'Australienne Grace Brown (FDJ-SUEZ).
