00:00Hi there, it's John Blow from the Yorkshire Post. I'm going to take you through some of
00:04the things coming up in the week ahead. First of all, it will be another week of
00:08pomp in national politics as the State Opening of Parliament takes place. Wednesday will
00:12mark the formal start of the parliamentary year as the King's Speech sets out the new
00:16government's agenda for the coming session, outlining proposed policies and legislation.
00:21Elsewhere, a celebration of Yorkshire's maritime heritage will take place next weekend as crowds
00:27gather on the coast for live music and cookery demonstrations. The annual Seafest Scarborough
00:32takes place at West Pier from Friday until Sunday. A replica Spanish tour ship, the Galleon
00:38Andalucia, will also be in Scarborough Harbour from Wednesday till Monday. The Thigsten Old
00:45Peculiar Crime Writing Festival takes place in Harrogate as well from Thursday to Sunday.
00:51This year the festival is chaired by author Ruth Ware and special guests appearing include
00:55bestsellers and fan favourites like Chris Carter, Jane Casey and Richard Osman. Meanwhile,
01:02Leeds Pride takes place on Sunday. The parade follows the same route as last year, starting
01:06outside Leeds Town Hall at noon.
