00:00Hello, very good day to you. Many of us are hoping for some prolonged dry, sunny and hot
00:05weather to come, and whilst there will be something a bit more settled for a time during
00:09the middle of the week, it may not last all that long.
00:12This week's got off to a wet start. We've had some heavy, persistent rain pushing across
00:17much of England and Wales, and some showery outbreaks for Scotland and Northern Ireland
00:21too. The system that's brought the heavy, persistent rain is now though clearing into
00:25the North Sea, and so there may still be some heavy rain across eastern parts of England
00:29first thing on Tuesday morning, but it is going to clear away.
00:33That being said, there'll be plenty of showers following behind, particularly down the eastern
00:37side of the country, and especially across eastern parts of Scotland, North East England.
00:41Here some heavy, thundery downpours are quite likely with some hail and some lightning mixed
00:46in, and we could see some issues as a result of these heavy showers.
00:50Further west, a drier, perhaps brighter picture. Yes, one or two showers around, but they're
00:55not looking as intense as further east. Temperatures are still going to be a little bit
00:59below average for the time of year, just about getting to highs of around 22 or 23 Celsius.
01:04Not feeling too bad if you do catch any sunshine, although it will be quite breezy in the southeast
01:09to start off with, those winds gradually easing as we go through the day.
01:13Most of the showers are going to ease as we go through Tuesday night into Wednesday. There
01:17could even be a few pockets of mist and fog first thing on Wednesday morning, and for
01:22many, Wednesday actually looks like a largely decent day. Plenty of fine, sunny weather
01:26to start off with, especially once any mist and fog patches clear away.
01:31And for much of England, Wales and even large chunks of Scotland and Northern Ireland, it
01:35will stay dry through much of the day, but there will be some showers developing perhaps
01:39as we go through the afternoon. And across northwestern Scotland, here it is going to
01:43turn increasingly cloudy. The winds will be strengthening and there will be some rain
01:47pushing its way through at times. But elsewhere, away from the showers, there'll be some sunny
01:52breaks as we go through the afternoon, and in these, the temperatures are going to be
01:56rising. It is going to feel a little bit warmer than it has done recently, highs of around
02:0125 Celsius perhaps down towards the southeast. More fine weather to come as we go into Thursday,
02:07particularly towards the southeast of the UK, because here we're going to be under the
02:11influence of high pressure. Meanwhile, some systems, some weather systems will be pushing
02:15their way in from the west, so things turning a bit cloudier and wetter across western parts
02:20of the country. Further east, likely to stay that little bit dry, maybe a few spots of rain.
02:25But as we go into the afternoon, some decent bright sunny spells and some warmer air across
02:30us as well. And so temperatures likely to be a bit higher perhaps than on Wednesday,
02:3426, maybe even a little bit higher than that. So feeling pretty warm, especially in any
02:40bright or sunny weather here. Further north and west, though, with the cloud, the rain,
02:44some blustery winds here, it is going to feel markedly cooler, more like autumn rather than
02:49summer. As we go through Thursday night into Friday, the weather system affecting western
02:54parts does push its way through, but it does clear away from the east early on Friday morning.
02:59And then it's quickly replaced by another system coming in from the west again. And
03:03so Friday is looking relatively similar to Thursday in many ways. Across northern western
03:08parts, quite a bit of cloud and there'll be some rain pushing its way through at times
03:12and some blustery winds. The driest, brightest weather will be towards the east and the south.
03:17Temperatures still around the mid 20s, perhaps not quite as high as on Thursday, but again
03:22in the sunshine, feeling pretty warm further north and west where it's cloudy, where it's
03:26blustery, where it's wet. It is going to feel markedly cooler than this. Now, there is more
03:31unsettled weather to come as we go through this weekend. There's a bit of uncertainty
03:35as to the detail, particularly the position of any low pressure that comes in. It could
03:39be a bit further north. That's where some of the model runs want to have it. But nonetheless,
03:44it does look like we are going to see some further changeable weather to come. As a result,
03:48many of us can expect some wet and windy weather at times. And after a slightly warmer spell
03:53during the middle part of the week, I'm expecting temperatures to drop down a bit again as well.
03:58Like I said, though, there's relatively low confidence, especially in the detail. So it
04:02is definitely worth staying up to date with the forecast wherever you are. You can do
04:06that by making sure you're subscribed to our YouTube channel. Bye bye.
