00:00Hello, the short-lived hot spell will come to an end this weekend as cooler air and a
00:05risk of thunderstorms sweeps across the UK by Sunday. But as we end the working week,
00:11we've got hot continental air being pulled up by this southerly wind direction. That
00:16will soon change, though, as a weather front pushes in from the west through Saturday,
00:20slowly at first, but through Saturday evening it will push through quite quickly, bringing
00:24a risk of thunderstorms, heavy downpours and then much fresher air as we head into
00:30Sunday. Sunday, though, doesn't look like a particularly wet day. We've got a ridge
00:34of higher pressure just for a time. There will be a risk of showers, but it will turn
00:38markedly cooler. However, as we start the weekend on Saturday, we've still got that
00:44warm air or hot air across southeastern areas. So some areas may start the day in the southeast
00:51above 20 degrees, but quite widely across England and Wales we will be in the mid to
00:56high teens to start the day. From the west, though, it's already turning much fresher
01:00and that's because that weather front has already arrived by Saturday morning. And it's
01:04likely to persist across parts of Northern Ireland, western areas of Scotland through
01:08much of the day. It could be some quite heavy outbreaks of rain through the day, potentially
01:12some surface water if you are travelling around on Saturday. As we look further south and
01:17west across West Wales and southwest England, the risk of showers does increase into the
01:22afternoon. Further east, it should stay dry through much of the day, but the sunshine
01:25will definitely turn more hazy. The best of the longest live sunshine across the southeast.
01:31We've still got the heat here. We could see the third day of temperatures exceeding the
01:35heatwave threshold across parts of East Anglia, for example, at 28 degrees here. However,
01:42elsewhere, temperatures will be a good five degrees or so cooler on Saturday compared
01:47to Friday. Now, through Saturday evening, this band of heavy rain will sweep eastwards
01:52through the country. There's also a risk of thunderstorms developing across southeastern
01:56areas. So that's something to watch over the next couple of days if you are planning on
01:59getting out and about on Saturday evening. Behind it, though, it will turn drier and
02:04we are into this northwesterly wind direction. So it's starting to turn much fresher, a much
02:08more comfortable night on Saturday night across western areas. However, across the east, still
02:14potentially a bit of a muggy night, particularly across parts of southeastern England. Now,
02:20through Sunday, this rain will clear to the east. It may linger across parts of northern
02:24and eastern Scotland as well as northeastern England. But behind it, it will turn much
02:28drier, actually. So there's still be quite a lot of fine weather to get out and about
02:32in on Sunday. A risk of the odd shower across northwestern areas and there will be a bit
02:37of a breeze and it's definitely going to feel that much fresher. Temperatures quite widely
02:42back down to closer to average for the time of year. We'll be at the high teens for many
02:47northern areas, lower 20s across many southern areas. So back to where we have been so far
02:53through this July after the short lived hot spell. And next week looks fairly changeable
02:57as well, although there are some signs of dry weather for some of us at times. But you
03:02can find more details on all of that by subscribing to our YouTube channel. Bye bye.
