00:00Gentlemen, it seems we have a few things to discuss.
00:07Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're looking at Cobra Kai moments where the villain showed
00:12no mercy.
00:13In such a morally gray show, it can be hard to say who's truly a villain, but there's
00:19little honor to be found in these instances.
00:22Beware of following spoilers.
00:24I won't make that mistake again.
00:27Grace!
00:28No mercy.
00:3010.
00:31Vandalizing Miyagi-Do All in.
00:34Where the first season had us shifting between Team Daniel and Team Johnny, Cobra Kai gets
00:39harder to cheer for with John Kreese's return.
00:42Kreese's toxic presence spreads after he motivates a heartbroken Hawk to strike against
00:47Miyagi-Do.
00:48The fight is only over when you say it.
00:53Accompanied by three others, Hawk trashes the rival dojo in the middle of the night.
01:04The tranquil sanctum that Daniel attempted to build is desecrated with toilet paper and
01:09graffiti.
01:10While that can be cleaned up, stealing Mr. Miyagi's Medal of Honor is a whole other
01:15offense, and spray-painting the iconic convertible justifiably pushes Daniel over the edge.
01:21There are some lines you never cross.
01:24Disrespecting the spirit of Nariyoshi Miyagi isn't just one of them, it's the ultimate
01:30sin in karate-kiddom.
01:319.
01:40The Knife and the Snake, The Prize.
01:43The final season finds John Kreese on the run, seeking refuge with his sensei Master
01:55Kim.
01:56We're given further insight into how Kreese became so merciless.
01:59As far as Kim is concerned, Kreese is still holding back.
02:03To prove himself a worthy ally, Kreese ventures into a cave where he confronts a white cobra
02:08guarding a knife.
02:12Being bitten, Kreese faces an internal struggle between himself and his one weakness, which
02:18manifests as Johnny.
02:29The conflict ends in a neck snap that, while not real, looks and feels quite painful.
02:37Kreese sees that this test isn't about claiming the knife, it's about conquering the enemy
02:42standing in the way.
02:43Kreese shows how far he'll go, returning to Kim with the knife and the cobra's head.
02:578.
03:00Kim Dae-yoon Punishes Tory, Auroboros.
03:03Terry Silver is a menace on his own, but imagine the damage he can do with an army at his fingertips.
03:10In season 5, Silver gains several allies, most notably Kim Dae-yoon, whose grandfather
03:17mentored him and Kreese.
03:26Kim establishes early on that she means business, but we see just how ruthless this sensei can
03:32be after Tory abandons a crucial fight.
03:41To teach Tory a lesson, Kim and Silver present her with an opponent who can't be so easily
03:46broken.
03:55Walking away isn't an option this time.
03:57As formidable as Kim can be in battle, she can inflict pain without even raising a fist.
04:07She gets inside Tory's head, motivating her to break the stone statue while nearly
04:12busting her hand in the process.
04:187.
04:21Hawk Breaks Dimitri's Arm, Miyagi-Do Dimitri and Eli were once best friends.
04:27As Eli reinvented himself as Hawk though, he became unrecognizable in more ways than
04:33one.
04:34Hawk took up karate to build up confidence and stand up to his tormentors.
04:38Along the way, Hawk turns into what he hates.
04:41Nowhere is this more apparent than when Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do clash at Lazer Tag.
04:50As you might have guessed, they don't fight with light guns.
04:54Miyagi-Do has the upper hand until Tory arrives, sending Sam into a panic.
04:59Sam can't bring herself to intervene as Hawk pins Dimitri down and, egged on by his
05:04friends, breaks his arm.
05:13Although this may be Hawk's most malicious moment, it's also the beginning of his redemption
05:18as he reflects on what he's done.
05:286.
05:30Kreese Escapes From Prison, Head of the Snake It's really saying something when John Kreese
05:35has an I've created a monster moment.
05:46Season 4 concludes with Silver framing Kreese for the assault against Stingray.
05:50While you could argue that Kreese should be in jail for a few things, this isn't one
05:55of them.
05:56Kreese spends the next season incarcerated, but he spends every minute plotting his next
06:01move.
06:06The audience can tell something is off after Kreese uncharacteristically shows another
06:11inmate mercy, taking what seems like a fatal blow.
06:15Kreese isn't so easily vanquished, however.
06:25As Eagle Fang celebrates one enemy's defeat, they learn that another fakes his demise and
06:31is on the loose.
06:33Either this is the valley's worst prison or Kreese is just that resourceful.
06:38Either way, it's a pretty cool escape.
06:475.
06:48Silver Strikes Stingray, Party Time When Kreese tracks down Terry Silver, the
06:53pony-tailed psychopath isn't how we remember him.
07:02Deep down, Kreese knows that the old Silver is still in there, dying to be unleashed.
07:07It's a gradual process, but soon enough, Silver shows his true colors again.
07:19He goes full Terry Silver when Stingray asks to rejoin Cobra Kai.
07:28The cracks in Silver and Kreese's partnership have begun to show.
07:31Fueled by alcohol and his animosity toward Kreese, Silver beats the unsuspecting Stingray
07:37in one of the show's most brutal and one-sided fights.
07:41Silver does so with a gleefully sadistic smile.
07:44Silver isn't one-dimensionally evil in Cobra Kai, unveiling the character's mental scars.
07:55That doesn't change the fact that Silver enjoys being bad.
07:594.
08:00Silver Defeats Daniel, Extreme Measures Silver vs. Stingray is hardly a fair fight.
08:16Daniel is better equipped to hold his own, but Silver is known for catching him off-guard.
08:31Just as he did decades earlier, Silver doesn't immediately strike head-on.
08:35He takes his time manipulating Daniel, creating a rift between him and his family.
08:45It isn't until Daniel hits his low point that Silver cheerfully takes the credit.
08:50This instigates a long-overdue fight between the former student and Sensei.
08:54Given his drunken state, Daniel puts up a good fight with the bloody knuckles to back
08:58it up.
08:59This round goes to Silver, however.
09:01In a classic bad-guy move, Silver leaves Daniel alive, but only because he promises that the
09:07worst has yet to come.
09:123.
09:15LaRusso House Fight, December 19 Season 2 concludes with Tori commencing a
09:20school fight that escalates quickly.
09:23The season 3 finale delivers a rematch as Tori brings the fight to the LaRusso residents.
09:33Like the previous year's brawl, some characters choose mercy with Hawk, ultimately switching
09:38Tori, meanwhile, remains merciless, wanting to settle the score with Sam once and for
09:49all.
09:50Sam has spent most of the season avoiding Tori, but there's nowhere left to hide when
09:54the enemy breaks into your safe place.
10:03Although Sam eventually summons the strength to confront her fear, Tori has rarely been
10:08more intimidating.
10:09This makes it all the more satisfying once Sam gets the advantage, but she hasn't seen
10:14the last of Tori or Cobra Kai.
10:252.
10:28Silver's Last Stand, Head of the Snake After bribing Cobra Kai's way to victory,
10:38Silver's ascension only continues.
10:40By the end of season 5, he seems unstoppable.
10:43Standing in the way are Johnny, Chosen, and to a lesser extent, Mike Barnes, whose furniture
10:49store was a casualty of Silver's rampage.
10:52Chosen and Silver are ready to fight to the death.
11:08While both survive, seeing Chosen collapse into a pool of his own blood had us all gasping.
11:19Despite winning this round, Silver's students soon see him for the monster he is, leaving
11:23him with nothing but revenge.
11:33If Silver is going down, he's taking Daniel with him.
11:37Daniel is ready for Silver this time, finishing him with a few familiar moves.
11:41The higher they climb, the harder they fall.
11:48Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable, or dishonorable mentions.
11:54Kreese Returns, Mercy.
11:56Once again, rumors of his death have been exaggerated.
12:05Hamster and Snake, Nature vs. Nurture, R.I.P. Clarence.
12:18Karma Kicks Kyler, Counterbalance, Miguel shows what he's made of.
12:29Nobody evicts Kreese, King Cobra.
12:32Kreese clearly marked his territory.
12:41Shaving Hawk's Mohawk, Match Point.
12:44We know it's just hair, but that's gotta hurt.
13:09Number 1.
13:10Kreese Kills Captain, December 19.
13:13Season 3 explores Kreese's supervillain origin story in Vietnam.
13:17We can see much of what Kreese becomes in the cruel Captain Turner, who doesn't prioritize
13:22keeping his men alive.
13:32Knowing that his girlfriend is waiting for him is the one thing getting Kreese through
13:36the war.
13:37When Turner and Kreese are forced to fight in a POW camp, the Captain decides to tell
13:42him that his girlfriend died.
13:54A rescue team arrives before Turner can fall into the snake pit below.
13:57But Kreese wasn't just fighting for his life.
14:00He wanted Turner's blood on his hands.
14:03And Kreese gets just that with no mercy.
14:06One villain meets his end, but another is created.
14:15Two counting Silver, who now owes his life to Kreese.
14:26Which villain moment shocked you the most?
