00:25takeaways from the weekend well one Baltimore is really good and we knew
00:31that we knew that coming into the weekend we knew how good their offense
00:34was and they showed it the first two games and then I think game 3 Andrew
00:39Heaney really showed that when you make pitches of those guys that you can you
00:43can't compete with them you can't get them out and then we turn it over the
00:47bullpen the bullpen did a tremendous job and and we were able to get the last
00:51game of the series there so you know I think that there were some positives in
00:54that we know we can can compete with the best team in the league but also we
00:59saw how we an elite offense looks and you know our goal is to get back to
01:05being that that's what we were last year and I think that as we get healthy here
01:08we we have the potential to do what they do offensively how close are a couple of
01:13your key pieces and Josh Young and Evan Carter maybe to getting that yeah I was
01:17just outside watching Josh he hit batting practice today the next step for
01:22him will be a live batting practice off the pitcher and then at which point we
01:25hope we can get him out on rehab for a few games and my hope is that you know
01:30roughly 10 days if everything goes smoothly that he could be back Evan is
01:34also making great progress feeling really really good he'll take his first
01:38batting practice session tomorrow at which point I think we can start to
01:42accelerate his progression as well and my hope is that you know shortly after
01:46August 1st Evan will be back so we're turning the right direction with both
01:50those guys and we need them desperately they're big parts of our lineup
01:54obviously two pieces that we were depending on this year and when we get
01:58them back my hope is that it just makes our lineup a little bit more complete
02:01and in our run production will improve see why how frustrating is it that
02:07people even talk about you guys being sellers in this thing well it's a great
02:14question because I'm competitive by nature and I came into this season with
02:18very high expectations very I guess high conviction level in this roster and
02:27really believed that we were going to be the team to beat in the West and
02:32certainly it hasn't gone according to plan in terms of just we've had some
02:36injuries we've had some underperformance and we haven't been able to string
02:39together good stretches of baseball consistently the way we did last year
02:43and the way good teams do so when when people ask those questions and you know
02:49I even have to think about us potentially being sellers that's that's
02:52not fun for me that's something that I'm very frankly not proud of and the
02:57competitive aspect of my character comes out and I don't like it I but the
03:03reality is it's my job to not only evaluate the present but to evaluate the
03:07future and make decisions based upon what's best for this franchise this year
03:12and 2025 and beyond and that's part of the decision that I'll have to make here
03:17at some point and you know we've got a great group of the front office we've
03:20spent a ton of time preparing for a bunch of different routes that we could
03:24take here at the deadline and really I think this is a very important series
03:28for us in determining where we stand and what we can become as a team and my hope
03:33is that we really get hot here that we play great baseball against the White
03:37Sox and that carries into the road trip because the deadline is next Tuesday and
03:41we're gonna have to make some tough calls in this next week
