00:00Venezuelan authorities kicked off the so-called Tlan Republica operation with the objective
00:12of warranting the security and protection of the presidential elections this Sunday,
00:16July 28th.
00:20In Nepal, a plane carrying 19 passengers crashed during take-off, killing 18 people.
00:28And in Palestine, Israeli occupation forces killed at least 11 people in different raids
00:33in the occupied West Bank.
00:40Hello and welcome to From the South, I'm Alejandra Garcia from Telesur Studios in Havana, Cuba.
00:46We begin with the news.
00:58Let's begin our news briefs going live to Caracas with our special envoy in Venezuela,
01:04Brian Meyer, who has the new updates ahead of the July 28th presidential elections.
01:08Hello Brian, what is the latest from Venezuela?
01:13Well, today is the second to last day of the election campaign, and it's also a national
01:20holiday commemorating what would have been the birthday of Simon Bolivar, the liberator
01:28of South America from Spanish imperialists. It's also the 19th anniversary of Telesur,
01:34so the mood in the office is pretty positive today.
01:38Around the country, things are pretty calm. It's a holiday, so people are going out with
01:42their families, enjoying the nice weather. But tomorrow, there are massive rallies planned.
01:49Here in Caracas, Nicolas Maduro is expected to draw well over 100,000 people for his final
01:55rally of the season. The first rally on July 4th was enormous, and in the last couple days,
02:01the campaign has been picking up momentum, so it's expected to be even larger than the
02:06one that took place on July 4th. The other candidates are also having their final rallies
02:12tomorrow, so it's going to be a very busy day.
02:15Meanwhile, Elvis Amoroso, the head of the National Electoral Council, lashed out at
02:22the international press today for creating a climate of distrust and usurping the credibility
02:29in Venezuela's electoral process. Anyway, after tomorrow, all campaigning will come
02:36to an end, and we'll have three days in which alcohol sales are prohibited in Venezuela,
02:42and election day is marked for July 28th. That's the day when over 20 million, possibly
02:47over 20 million Venezuelans will come out to the polls to choose who their next president
02:51is going to be.
02:59Thank you very much. That was our special envoy, Brian Mayer, who was reporting live
03:03from Caracas on the latest developments ahead of the July 28th presidential elections. In
03:09this context, on Wednesday, Venezuelan authorities activated the Plan Republica with the objective
03:15of warranting the security and protection of the presidential elections of this July
03:2028th. The authorities are in charge of distributing the electoral material and maintaining control
03:26in the voting centers due to the threats of sabotage from the Venezuelan extreme right.
03:32In this regard, the president of the National Electoral Council, Elvis Amoroso, highlighted
03:36the work of the National Armed Forces in warranting the democratic process.
03:46The attacks are permanent and from here I denounce the media campaign, paid by dirty
03:51money, money from drug trafficking, money that has been stolen from you Venezuelans,
04:08the gold that has been taken from us, the Sidco oil company in the United States, stolen
04:25from us and that money is being used by foreign media to apply a campaign of destruction against
04:30the Venezuelan people in seeking to hinder these elections.
04:34For his part, the Venezuelan Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, reaffirmed the National
04:39Electoral Council as the only body in charge of issuing the official results of the presidential
04:44elections.
04:47However, outside the law usurps the function of the electoral power and I warn here clearly
04:54in the middle of the high political and military command of the Venezuelan nation.
05:05Whoever usurps that function is committing a crime and must be subject to an investigation
05:12and be prosecuted and arrested, because here there is no double standard of de facto parallel
05:25or satellite governments from abroad that usurp the powers of the Venezuelan state.
05:31At the same time, the Attorney General of Venezuela, Tarek William Saab, denounced the
05:35plans of the far-right to create violence against the Venezuelan people.
05:40Now, what this sector is proposing to Venezuela in the midst of the alibi, and it is my duty
05:47to denounce it, of the electoral moment, in a nightmarish exercise, if they triumph, is
05:55to literally repeat as a copy what the Zionist state of Israel has done in Gaza against the
06:02Venezuelan people.
06:04In Venezuela, the candidate for the Great Patriotic Pole, Nicolás Maduro, assured that
06:09the revolutionary forces are the only ones that can guarantee peace and stability in
06:14the country.
06:15Candidate Nicolás Maduro visited the people of Maracay in the state of Aragua, where he
06:20was received by the crowd awaiting his arrival, raising flags and banners as a token of their
06:25support before the presidential elections to be held on Sunday, July 28th.
06:30During this visit, the candidate of the Great Patriotic Pole assured that the map of Venezuela
06:35will be painted red, because today, more than ever, the people will come out to defend their
06:40convictions and the projects of the homeland.
06:43In this sense, the candidate for the Great Patriotic Pole assured that Venezuela will
06:47The candidate for the Great Patriotic Pole assured that the extreme right only intends
06:51to privatize all the institutions and companies of the country, as well as to destroy Commander
06:56Hugo Chávez Fría's great missions.
07:04During his visit to Valencia, in the state of Carabobo, the candidate for the Great Patriotic
07:09Pole qualified this great mobilization as the greatest mobilization in the history of
07:14the party, assuring that this was a sign of the great victory that will be achieved this
07:19coming July 28th.
07:21On the other hand, Nicolás Maduro stated that if the extreme right wing tries once
07:25again to undermine the peace of the country by generating scenarios of violence in the
07:30presidential elections, this would be the last mistake that it would make, affirming
07:35that he would be in charge of doing justice.

09:54and aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace.
09:57The Ukrainian diplomat also valued as highly positive and significant the active role of
10:03China in the promotion of peace and the upholding of international order.
10:07In addition to a peace plan, both parties address bilateral relations.
10:18China believes that all conflicts must be settled at the negotiating table and all disputes
10:23should be resolved by political means.
10:26Recently, both Ukraine and Russia have shown their readiness for negotiations.
10:30Meanwhile, after the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleva announced his readiness to establish
10:35a dialogue with Russia, the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said,
10:39This is certainly better than Kyiv's statements to exclude any contact with the Russian side.
10:45We will have to wait for concrete actions to judge what the Ukrainian side's intentions are.
10:50Of course, to speak about dialogue in one or another tone is much better than to speak about
10:56the intention to fight to the last Ukrainian.

16:30declared on Sunday during his return to the United States
16:33that Israeli snipers deliberately fired on Palestinian children.
16:44Definitively, I have two children that I have photographs of
16:48that were shot so perfectly in the chest
16:50I couldn't put my stethoscope over their heart more accurately
16:53and directly on the side of the head in the same child.
16:57No toddler gets shot twice by mistake by the world's best sniper
17:02and they're dead center shots.
