00:15Agreement of the Peoples of the America of the Pacific and in Caracas, Venezuela.
00:23In Palestine, authorities evacuated patients and their displaced from the Al-Aqsa Martyrs
00:27Hospital as Israeli attacks intensifies in central Gaza.
00:32In Australia, millions of workers now have the legal right to disconnect, allowing them
00:39to ignore unresolvable out-of-work contacts from employers.
00:45Hello, welcome to From the South, I'm Ana Marrero from the Telesur headquarters in Caracas,
00:54Venezuela.
00:55Welcome to the news, stay with us.
01:10In Venezuela, the 11th Extraordinary Summit of the Bolivarian Islands for the Peoples
01:15of America's Trade Agreement of the Peoples of the America on Monday, with the joint declarations
01:20of all its members, no, for all its members, my pardon, the meeting was attended by the
01:28Prime Ministers of Antigua and Barbuda, Dominican Republics, and the San Quintin Navies, Grenada,
01:33Saint Lucia, as well as the President of Bolivia, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.
01:38During the summit, President Nicolás Maduro thanked the representatives of the member
01:42states in the preparatory meeting of the Black Councils of Social Movement.
01:47The summit ended with a joint declaration for all member states in full support of Venezuela,
01:54and their total rejection to all interference in internal affairs of the country.
02:00... partners, Prime Ministers, Presidents, it is very clear that there is an emergence,
02:09a resumption of fascism, which some call neo-fascism, and it is right, neo-fascism,
02:20it's okay, but undoubtedly, they have come here with the force, with the strength, with
02:29the force of hate, of re-colonization, and delivery of our countries to the United States
02:39of America.
02:40There is no doubt about it.
02:43Today, in Europe, in Latin America, in the United States of America, there is an outbreak,
02:52a powerful outbreak of fascism, it is a reality.
02:59In Venezuela, the Electoral Commission of the communes gave an update account of the
03:13development of the second popular consultation, affirming that the democratic exercise was
03:18successfully developed.
03:19From the office of the Ministry of Popular Power for the communes, the Electoral Commission
03:24declared that the voting process in the second popular consultation was successful, achieving
03:29the activation of 100% of the polinestation nationwide.
03:33During the day, a total of 4,505 communal circuits choose to prioritize projects in
03:43their communities.
03:44Among the others, they vote on projects to improve the drinking water system, roads,
03:50housing, electricity, health, education.
03:54So it should be productive units, public transportation, support facilities, and gas.
04:02During an exclusive interview for our news multiplatform, Telesur, they mustered in philosophy
04:13of what Fernando Rivero expressed, that this second popular consultation allowed deepening
04:19and radicalizing the participatory democracy of the country.
04:25Well, an extraordinary experience with great participation of our people, but also this
04:31process has endorsed the hope Indiana the real, concrete possibility of deepening democracy,
04:37radicalizing democracy, which is nothing more than placing public affairs in the hands of
04:42our people, which is something fundamental in the Simone Bolivar National Project.
04:48But there was something that Commander Chavez proposed as part of the strategy for the radical
04:52transformation of Venezuelan society.
04:54IT was precisely participation in this effort today.
04:59Rivero also highlighted massive participation of the Venezuelan people in the second 2024
05:03referendum, despite the context of blockade, sanctions, and international aggressions against
05:08the country.
05:11Let us say that this process that we see today is in tune with the wishes of the people,
05:16with the construction of the great transformations that were precisely endorsed last July 28th.
05:21If our people did anything, it is to endorse the need to change what needs to be changed
05:26in order to advance towards a society of equals, to overcome the great problems, and, of course,
05:32to overcome the great problems as well.
05:35And this must be said because it is a consultation that takes place within the framework of an
05:40international context, marked by the blockade against the country.
05:48But even so, our people understand the importance of this process, and it is precisely part
05:52of the importance of this to combat, let us say, all the attacks that are detrimental
05:57to the will of the Venezuelan people.
05:59And as we said, the second national consultation of communes held on August 25th in Venezuela
06:04constitutes an exercise of popular power and democratic participation.
06:09Moritz Elsber, our colleague and correspondent, Gladys Casada.
06:14Early in the morning, before the voters arrive, the electoral supplies are prepared.
06:20The ballots are counted, it is verified before the witnesses that the box is empty and sealed.
06:26This is how the second popular consultation of the communes begins at the Jose Marti Center
06:33in Sarria, Caracas.
06:35The same happens all over Venezuela.
06:37In this opportunity, more participation of the people is requested, since it is known
06:46that it is the community who has the vote that has the responsibility to take their
06:49project what they want to benefit.
06:52Well, it is very important because it is for the well-being of the community, and it is
06:58the well-being of all of us, and therefore it favors the community.
07:05It is 8 o'clock in the morning, and the day begins.
07:08Here, they vote three projects that were already nominated in the communal assemblies.
07:15While in the Libertador Avenue, other communes decide amongst seven projects to attend the
07:20water, sewage, elevators, and other problems that afflict this urban communal council.
07:27It is noon on Sunday, and the sun is shining, but even so, they come.
07:35This second round of project proposals, where the people are the ones who say how and where
07:41to invest these resources, is of great importance, because it is about the resources.
07:48It is about the pockets of the citizens that, with this revolutionary government, will not
07:53have to be taken out, but it is the government that, together with the government, will respond
08:00to this need.
08:06It is the integration of the future of the community.
08:09It is to see a new vision that we are not sitting down.
08:12We are all working together so that we can have a good project, so that we can continue
08:16to grow.
08:17That is the most important thing to vote for.
08:21In Alta, Florida, the communal center Negro Luis Villafania also takes to the polls the
08:27pressing needs of their communities.
08:29Of their seven projects, some are directed to repair infrastructure, others to deal with
08:35possible climatic crises, and one wants to found a grandparents' club.
08:41They are the aspirations of a diverse and complex communal circuit.
08:49The main needs of each one of the territories is an atypical territory, since it is conformed
08:54by 14 territories that one territory does not have the same reality of the other because
08:59they are seven territories of the neighborhood sector and seven territories of the upper
09:04middle class sector.
09:05However, there are people who believe first in our revolutionary process because in that
09:10we have been very empathetic.
09:12No, our president Nicolas Maduro calls us to conform our communal organization, but
09:17with conscience with conscience to really make revolution within the territories.
09:26Before when we were not consolidated as social organizations, any politician or politician
09:31of office would come and tell us well we are going to give you or we are going to paint
09:35a curbstone and it turns out that we do not want a curbstone painting.
09:38We want a school so now we know how to defend the cloak and dagger as Chavez taught us.
09:44The night falls and after the arrival of voters ceases, the center closes.
09:49It is now time for the count in front of the table witnesses, street leaders and other
09:55social leaders of the communal circuit.
09:58From what is decided here, solutions will come, novelties that will help to build a
10:03society where everyone has a voice and a place.

11:49Our homes were destroyed and I cannot move.
11:52They want us to evacuate.
11:53I am injured and I do not have a safe place to go to.
11:56Where could I possibly go?
11:59I am afraid that the hospital might be targeted.
12:01I cannot bear another injury.
12:03I would rather die than get injured again.
12:05I am paralyzed and cannot move my arms and legs.
12:11The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, rejected again on Sunday.
12:16The new conditions that a Syrian Israeli government is trying to impose for ceasefiring

13:14organization, through a statement released by his spokesperson, expressed his concern

13:26the conflict in both countries.

13:47a number of people traveling in several vehicles show their identity documents.

14:28In Australia, as of Monday, a law will allow millions of workers to disconnect from their
14:34workday duties outside working hours.
14:37According to the law passed by Parliament last Friday, workers in companies with more
14:42than 15 employees may refuse to answer emails or phone calls from their bosses or other
14:49people in their workplace.
14:51In case of noncompliance with this law, employers and companies will face fines.
14:58This measure aims to improve workers' health as establishing a balance between private
15:02and work life.
15:09French judicial authorities extend the detention of Telegram CEO Pavel Dourov after he was
15:17arrested at a Paris airport for alleged offensive related to his MS and GM services.
15:23The French Agency for the Prevention of Violence Against Minors has issued an arrest warrant
15:30for Dourov as part of a preliminary investigation into alleged crimes, including fraud, drug
15:36trafficking, cyberbullying, organized crime and promotion of terrorism.
15:42Later that day, the ex-Hamelinian magistrate in charge of this investigation extended his
15:49pretrial detention, which could last up to 96 hours at most, according to sources close
15:56to the case.
16:03Related to the Dourov case, former U.S. intelligence officer Edward Snowden expressed an opposite
16:09on the social network X, that the arrest of Dourov is an assault on the basic human
16:15rights of speech and association.
16:17He also accused President Emmanuel Macron of stopping to the level of taking hostages
16:23to gain access to private messages and affirmed that these arrests damage not only the dignity
16:28of France but of the entire world.

16:43he travels frequently around Europe.
16:46They also state that Telegram complains with European legislation, including the law on
16:51digital services, and that its moderation is in line with industry standards and is
16:57completely unproven.
