00:00Tiger Beer has never given donations to schools.
00:05This is what the company said tonight,
00:07claiming that its role in the recent controversial school fundraiser
00:10only involved organising performances by local artists at the concert.
00:15Tiger Beer said it only took part in engagements
00:17with the school's Parent Teacher Association and Board of Directors.
00:21It also said the Chinese education charity concert
00:24has been around for 30 years,
00:26and during this time,
00:27the local community has contributed RM413 million through CECC.
00:32None of these donations came from Tiger Beer, it said.
00:35The company also said the organisers have been careful
00:38to ensure all programmes and activities
00:40respected local sensitivities and complied with the law.
00:44Recently, PASS took issue with Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister
00:47Ayman Athira Sabu for receiving a mock cheque for RM3 million,
00:52bearing Tiger Beer's logo at a fundraiser for SJKC Chairman in Sungai Pelek, Selangor.
00:58On Monday, the Education Ministry said it was investigating the incident
01:01and reminded schools to comply with existing guidelines.
