00:00After the heavy flooding in Marikina,
00:02the problem now is that a lot of residents left this thick pudic.
00:07EJ Gomez has the news.
00:12The I Love Marikina signage was almost not visible
00:15when the strong and strong wind of the recent typhoon was felt.
00:21The typhoon is gone and the residents were affected by the heavy flooding.
00:25But they say that the problem now is the thick pudic.
00:30But this is risky and dangerous for the residents.
00:32But they say that they have to endure it first
00:34so that they can travel and reach their destination.
00:37Like Salvador, who is riding a bicycle to go to work.
00:41It's really hard, ma'am.
00:42I thought it would be easy.
00:44Because it's going straight and it's fast going down.
00:48I didn't expect it to go down like this.
00:51I was surprised that the road is like this.
00:54There's no obstacle on the road.
00:56How is that? Is it white?
00:59Charles, who is riding a motorcycle, also experienced the same thing.
01:03We came from Ampid, San Mateo.
01:05We went to the town of Marikina to buy food.
01:09We were there for a while.
01:11It's just simple because we didn't know that the pudic is thick here.
01:14So we just cleaned it.
01:16Some were forced to walk in the thick pudic.
01:20Thousands of residents are still staying in the evacuation centers in Marikina.
01:25In H. Bautista Elementary School,
01:27more than 3,000 individuals or more than 600 families
01:31are staying in classrooms and capsule tents.
01:34Our house is just one floor.
01:37We were forced to go into the water.
01:39It's deep.
01:40Then the pudic.
01:41We didn't save anything.
01:44Everything was submerged.
01:46Everything was washed away.
01:47Even our clothes, ma'am.
01:49But now, we're still not cleaning.
01:51We're still not going home.
01:53There's no electricity.
01:54We can't clean the house.
01:57It's past 4 o'clock in the early morning here in Patola Street, Barangay Tumana,
02:01where it's still dark and there's no electricity.
02:03According to the authorities, this is the only barangay that is trying to get electricity back
02:08after the storm Karina hit.
02:11They are now hurrying to fix the electricity poles affected by the storm.
