00:00Hey guys, I'm Stacey and this is Gorgeously Aging Advanced and today we are going to do
00:08the Profilo dupe treatment using the BAP technique and we are using HiLace.
00:14This is a Korean version, almost identical to Profilo, a little bit less expensive.
00:19This is one of my favorite treatments I've done, the Profilo treatment a number of times.
00:24I really love the glow, the suppleness and the hydration it gives my skin.
00:29It seems like it smooths out fine lines and wrinkles and just makes my skin feel amazing.
00:35So I have already started by prepping my face.
00:37I thoroughly cleansed, alcohol swabbed in the areas and applied a topical lidocaine
00:42and let that sit on for 15 minutes.
00:45You can see in those areas that the skin blanches a little bit, that's that white little circle
00:50that you see on camera.
00:52That's where the lidocaine was placed to correspond with the BAP points.
00:57So I'm going to review all of the BAP points.
01:00I do have other BAP videos in my playlist.
01:03I'll link them in the description box below so you can watch them to get better acquainted
01:08with the BAP technique.
01:10So BAP stands for Bio-Aesthetic Points.
01:14It was developed for the Skin Booster Profilo.
01:18The BAP points are 5 points on each side of the face that are anatomically receptive,
01:24meaning they are absent of large blood vessels and nerves.
01:29These are safe injection points.
01:32So let's review the BAP points.
01:34So we're going to start out by the tragus.
01:37The tragus is this little flap of skin right here on the ear.
01:41We're going to go with the lower part of the tragus.
01:43Now my hands have been sanitized and these are really handy.
01:47I have a pack of these and then I just use them and either sanitize them or throw them
01:52away.
01:53It's 1 cm from the lower part of the tragus.
01:57So it's nice to have a clear measuring ruler so that you can measure out.
02:05For me, 1 cm is about the width of my fingertip.
02:09So it's 1 cm from the lower part of the tragus.
02:14We also have the zygomatic protrusion.
02:17This is 2 cm down from the corner of the eye.
02:21So using my little measuring tool, you can see that's 2 cm from the corner of the eye.
02:27The nasal base is basically where the pupil and the nasal base intersect.
02:34It turns out to be about 2 cm from the nasal base.
02:41And then we have the mandibular angle here.
02:43This is 1 cm above the mandibular angle.
02:49We also have the chin points if you draw a straight line down from the middle of your
02:54mouth and then about a third of the way down, you intersect that.
03:00And then we have about 1.5 cm from that intersecting point.
03:04So here and here, repeating that on the other side of the face.
03:10So I've done this a number of times.
03:11It really is one of my favorite treatments.
03:14The thing to note is that it leaves a little bit of a welt, almost like a mosquito bite,
03:18and that dissipates over time.
03:20Usually about 12 hours later it is gone.
03:22That can last longer for some people.
03:25There is no need to press on those points.
03:27Those bumps will dissipate in the lower dermal layer or the deep dermal layer, subcutaneous layer.
03:34This is an injection in the very deep dermal upper subcutaneous layer of the skin.
03:40So today I am using a 30 gauge 13 mm needle.
03:45This high lace does not come with a needle, so do plan ahead if you plan to do this treatment.
03:50Please keep in mind that this is not medical advice or instruction.
03:54And just a note, the high lace comes very well packaged and it does have instructions.
04:00I'm going to go ahead and put on a pair of gloves.
04:05Each of these injection points gets 0.2 ml.
04:09So the total treatment is 2 ml, which is what comes in the high lace.
04:15So there is enough that one syringe does the whole treatment.
04:19This is done best in a series of two or three treatments.
04:24Doing it once a month for three months is going to give you the best results.
04:28But you do see improvement after one treatment, or at least I do.
04:32So again, I have been thoroughly cleansed, alcohol swabbed, and numbed in the areas that are marked.
04:38So I am going to go ahead, starting with the zygomatic protrusion, and just work my way
04:43across and do all of these BAP injections.
04:46For good measure, I am going to sanitize my gloves.
04:50Planning ahead for this treatment is always key to success.
04:53Making sure that you have your plan, that you've reviewed your anatomy, that you've
04:58thoroughly cleansed, sanitized, numbed, and planned out your BAP points, as well as laid
05:03down some type of sterile sheet to have all of your supplies that you're going to need.
05:08Being prepared makes everything so much easier.
05:12I like to go in at an angle.
05:15And since this is a 13mm needle, it's going to be a little more than half of this needle
05:20depth into the skin.
05:28And you can do an aspiration to see if there's any flashback.
05:36One, two, three, four, five.
05:42And you can see that little bump.
05:52Aspiration.
05:59One, two, three, four, and five.
06:06Need a little bit more on each of those points here.
06:16Sometimes the count of five for Profilo worked for me as far as gauging the amount, but it
06:21depends on the pressure that you are putting on the plunger.
06:35Slow and steady pressure.
07:06A magnifying mirror does help.
07:15A little bleeding is normal.
07:16I'm going to very gently wipe away where I've already treated.
07:20And you feel that little lump under the skin.
08:05At this point, I should be at 1mm for the remaining 1mm on the other side of the face.
08:11So I'm going to go back and just give a little bit more in the points.
08:36Especially here for the nasolabial fold.
08:42It's best if you get this in one go, but I'd rather err on the side of being conservative
08:48than over-treating one side of the face and running out of product for the other.
08:55Okay, so you can see that we are now at 1mm of product, so we have enough for this side of the face.
09:01So we are going to repeat the same procedure for the other side of the face.
09:07I'm going to go back and just give a little bit more in the points.
09:13Especially here for the nasolabial fold.
09:19It's best if you get this in one go, but I'd rather err on the side of being conservative
09:23and repeat what we just did on the left side.
09:29Having plenty of alcohol wipes, sterile gauze, gloves on hand,
09:35and set up and easily accessible is important.
09:41Just going to put a little bit of pressure here. Not a lot, just a little bit.
09:47You don't need to press those lumps out, they will disperse by themselves.
09:52There's no specific order that you need to go in, as long as you are giving equal amount to each point.
10:09I find the right side of my face easier to treat than the left.
10:21A little lump there.
10:35Aspiration. And that's just a safety measure.
10:41And not forcing the plunger, just gentle pressure.
11:11A little sting sometimes with this as it goes in, not too bad.
11:41A little bit more.
12:11And the last little bit that I have I'm going to do the nasal base again, that does help the nasolabial fold.
12:41And that's two mils of product used.
12:59I'm just going to hold a little gentle pressure on these points that are bleeding.
13:05And that redness does go away pretty quickly in a couple of hours.
13:09It is recommended not to wear makeup for 12 hours after this treatment.
13:13Sunscreen is okay.
13:17Keeping the face hydrated after treatment I find to be really helpful.
13:21I use Avene Ciclophate, I'll list that down in the description below.
13:25Lots of people ask me, is this a filler? This is not a dermal filler.
13:29This is a skin booster. It is not cross-linked, so it doesn't give a volumizing effect.
13:35It does draw hydration, moisture, increases suppleness, helps with fine lines and wrinkles,
13:41and just gives a beautiful glow to any skin, but especially aging skin.
13:47I find the BAP technique to be one of the easier ways to do mesotherapy.
13:51This is a form of mesotherapy, but you avoid doing all the teeny tiny little blebs.
13:57Now, I still love traditional mesotherapy and do it regularly,
14:03but I love the BAP technique, especially with Profilo and now the new Hyalase.
14:09I find the formula of the Hyalase may be slightly thicker, almost not noticeable,
14:15but slightly thicker than Profilo. It is meant to be used at room temperature.
14:21This, when it comes, is stored at room temperature.
14:25This should be used the whole two mils in one treatment,
14:29and then the syringe and needle discarded in a sharps container.
14:32This product isn't meant to be saved for future use, so whatever is left over,
14:36if you do a conservative treatment, should be discarded.
14:40If you are somebody who is prone to bruising, Arnica gel is sometimes helpful for bruising.
14:46Now, it's not a surefire way to eliminate bruises, but it can help, as well as Arnica tablets.
14:54Those are taken orally, and I generally don't bruise with the BAP technique,
15:00but after a while, if I'm going to get a bruise, it's going to be right around there.
15:04It generally heals up pretty quickly, so after that 12 hours of not wearing makeup,
15:08and you could wear eye makeup. You can see I have lashes on.
15:12Just avoid a lot of makeup on the skin.
15:16But after that 12 hours, certainly you can go back to wearing makeup,
15:22but listen to your skin. If your skin needs a little more time, definitely give it what it needs.
