00:00The Philippine National Police or PNP said it is investigating the recent rescue operation of Chinese kidnapped victims in Angela City, Pampanga.
00:09The PNP is looking into reports on whether it was a case of friendly fire that resulted in the death of a police officer.
00:16PNP Spokesperson Police Colonel Gene Fajardo says PNP Chief Police General Romel Marbil assured the family of the deceased cop that those responsible will be held accountable.
00:28If it can be proven, sir, that it was a friendly fire that resulted in the death of a police officer, definitely, sir, it will be held accountable.
00:38That is the commitment given by our PNP that it will be held accountable if anyone was killed or injured, regardless of where it happened.
00:46If it can be proven that it came from our family, sir, we will not hide anything and it will be held accountable.
00:53That is the assurance given by our PNP personally to the families of those who were killed or injured in these operations.
