00:00Hey, Storm Debbie will be turning up the heat for the UK this weekend.
00:04Yes, you heard correctly, a storm making it hot. Storm Debbie in North America is strengthening
00:09the jet stream and causing it to meander across the Atlantic, and in turn that's bringing through
00:14the hot air from France across parts of the UK later this weekend, causing our temperatures to
00:19rise. Before then, quite a cloudy day for England and Wales, particularly around central and western
00:24areas where there will be patchy light rain and drizzle. But parts of the south and southeast
00:28will see bright or sunny spells, lots of sunshine for northern England as well as for northern
00:32Ireland. And for Scotland it will be sunny too, but there will be some heavy showers to the
00:36northwest. Sunday will be the driest day with plenty of sunshine and it will become increasingly
00:41hot and humid as that southerly airflow develops, bringing through that hot air from France.
00:47So for much of England and Wales, temperatures will be in the highs of the mid-20s into the low
00:5330s in parts of the south. Temperatures around average for Scotland and Northern Ireland,
00:57but it will feel pleasantly warm in the sunshine. A breakdown of the heat as it peaks on Monday
01:02across much of England and Wales. We could see high humidity and temperatures up into the mid
01:0830s in the southeast, but the risk of thunderstorms later in the day for central and eastern areas
01:13and some early thunderstorms for parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland too.
