00:00Joe, good to see you.
00:04I want to go through the litany of games and just kind of pick some guys that you like
00:09on these teams that you'd be invested in for fantasy.
00:13So tonight there's three games.
00:15We'll start with Texan Steelers.
00:16Who do you like on those teams?
00:18Well, it's funny.
00:19We just had a big expert league draft this past weekend.
00:23And one of the Steelers that for me is rising up the draft board in the super flex world
00:26is Justin Fields.
00:27I'm just looking at this very practically, which is I'm the Pittsburgh Steelers.
00:31Am I trying to resurrect some mid thirties quarterback who looks like he's on the back
00:36end of his career?
00:37Or am I trying to get reps and get a guy going who could possibly be the future of the quarterback
00:42situation in Pittsburgh?
00:44And Fields is clearly the latter.
00:46And to me, the Fields is a guy that I was aggressive on this past weekend and drafting
00:49him as my third quarterback.
00:51And I think other people should start looking at him in this scenario as well, because I
00:55just don't see a scenario here at this point where we keep running out this Russell Wilson
00:59narrative too much longer.
01:00Now, maybe I'm wrong.
01:01Maybe we will get Justin Fields to sit for a few weeks, but I don't think it's going
01:05to be very long.
01:06I really don't.
01:07And we keep waiting for Russell Wilson to, you know, get healthy, get right, get on the
01:10field and all that stuff.
01:11To me, I think it's Fields opportunity right now to really continue to prove himself.
01:15So far, a lot of good, positive things are coming back.
01:18I don't want to take too much out of, you know, the guys weren't shorts playing football
01:21because it's a different game when they're really coming after you.
01:24But I do think Justin Fields or one of those names, George Pickens, another one of those
01:27names too.
01:28And on the flip side, I think when you're talking about Niko Collins on the Texan side,
01:32I think his ADP is still very suppressed.
01:35I think this is a player that if you look at what he did last year, that he's not getting
01:39enough credit.
01:40I know Stefan Diggs is there now.
01:41I know there's a lot of concern was, is there enough target share for him to go around necessarily?
01:45And the answer is yes, absolutely there is.
01:47This was a guy that finishes wide receiver nine overall, and he's being drafted as wide
01:51receiver 15 or 16 right now.
01:53That's a clear value that I'm going to take every single time.
01:55So Niko is one of those players that right now I think has been a little undervalued.
01:59Not a lot, but just a little because of the uncertainty, maybe a cloudy picture with the
02:03Tankdells of the world and Stefan Diggs of the world now also there.
02:07But I think that Niko pretty much proved last year he is the go-to guy.
02:11He's the clear number one.
02:12And the other guys are window dressing accessories.
02:14All right.
02:16Falcons and Dolphins are playing tonight in Miami.
02:19Who do you like on those teams?
02:22Well, Devon Achan, I think has got to be one of the absolute lottery tickets this year,
02:26right?
02:27I mean, the speed is off the charts.
02:28The size is a little concerning.
02:29Now he did put some muscle on, so that's encouraging.
02:33But sometimes some of that extra muscle can lead to even more sprains and strains and
02:37issues too.
02:38I just actually had one of the doctors on my show too to break down some of those, you
02:43know, pieces about Achan.
02:44And what he said was, look, you have to understand that even if he has the muscle, even if he
02:48has all this, the style of running and his size, he's going to miss some time.
02:53So you have to get him at the right ADP.
02:55He's currently going as a top 10 running back.
02:58Right in that range is still Derrick Henry.
02:59So Henry is still a player for me that I just can't say no to at that same range.
03:04And as exciting as Achan is, I think that at the same time, you have to realize there
03:08is a normal risk now on that same Dolphins team, Jalen Waddle, another guy came in as
03:13a rookie at 100 catches, had 1300 yards two years ago.
03:16Last year gets hurt.
03:18And all of a sudden he's been banished to that middle of wide receiver too.
03:20I don't understand it.
03:21I don't get it.
03:22Jalen Waddle is still that dude is still an incredible talent.
03:25That offense is incredibly efficient.
03:26So I'm not concerned at all.
03:28And then looking on the other side too, that Falcons team, look, Bijan Robinson, I think
03:32is prepared now and in a situation with a new coaching staff to really emerge and challenge
03:36for that number one overall RB spot, especially after CMC had 417 touches last year, which
03:42is an enormous amount that typically people do not do well the following season.
03:48After that sort of workload, and that has been proven time and time again, you're excited
03:52about Kyle Pitzer, excited about Drake London, what Kirk Cousins can bring to this offense
03:57and then ancillary pieces like Darnell Mooney are still interesting.
03:59But in this game in particular, you know, what we're looking for is guys to get healthy
04:03guys to stay healthy out of it who are participating today.
04:06But Jalen Waddle right now on the Dolphins to me is that guy that I just keep seeing
04:10falling in drafts.
04:11He's being undervalued.
04:12I think it is actually to the detriment of a lot of people out there.
04:15So scoop him up in your fantasy leagues, because he is going to be a good return on
04:19investment.
04:20Good one tonight in the Charm City, the Eagles and Ravens, they got a lot of good players
04:25on these teams.
04:26Yeah, a lot.
04:27And that would be an understatement for sure.
04:29Lamar just doesn't get enough credit, man.
04:31Another MVP.
04:32I'm wondering how many MVPs does he have to win before people start, you know, really
04:36chasing him in fantasy at this point.
04:38And I know in single quarterback leagues, there's still value on the board.
04:41But the nice thing about Lamar is there's like a flare that goes up in every single
04:46draft, right?
04:47The Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Jalen Hurts flare, where you know that pretty soon after,
04:51okay, this is the quarterback run.
04:52This is when it's going to happen.
04:53This is the round.
04:54And then Lamar's usually sitting there as the fourth guy off that board.
04:57And that's a pretty good investment.
04:58Do I like Richardson, Joe Burrow, and those guys are going after sure.
05:02But Lamar is a little bit safer at this point than those guys.
05:05So it's something to keep in mind and Lamar Jackson's ability to rush for an enormous
05:10total to still score touchdowns, even with Derrick Henry now there, who by the way, another
05:14guy not getting enough respect.
05:15I don't care that he's 30 years old.
05:18Derrick Henry is built different.
05:19He is now going to a team where he is going to get a ton of work in a much improved offensive
05:25line, a much improved offensive, the team that ran the football more than anybody else
05:28last year.
05:29So why should we not love Derrick Henry this year?
05:31One more time in the sun.
05:32I don't know why I don't get it.
05:34For the last five years, he finished as a top five RB and the one year he didn't, he
05:38was still RB eight.
05:40And he I'm sorry, he's already 16 and only played eight games because he got hurt that
05:44year.
05:45Missed half the season.
05:46Just let that sink in.
05:47He was so good.
05:48He was still RB 16 with half a season.
05:49So I'm loving Derrick Henry this year.
05:51The tough part with the Ravens is looking at that wide receiver core to Andrew's a little
05:56injury prone last couple of years, a little concerned with him at the tight end spot.
05:59Zay Flowers, another one too.
06:01Can he get more consistency?
06:03Perhaps we can hope that that finds him and on the Eagle side too.
06:06I think this is gonna be really interesting because you want to see what this offense
06:07looks like.
06:08Shane Steichen left last year.
06:11You saw what happened in terms of that offensive coordinator, not really getting in a flow
06:15with everybody.
06:16And I think that now you're hoping that AJ Brown, Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurts, everybody
06:20can get on the same page here and bounce back after a disappointing season for the Eagles.
06:26So you just did a draft, you're in several drafts and does it blow your mind now how
06:34enormous this has gotten over the last several years?
06:38It's just gone through the roof, fantasy.
06:41We always knew that it was year to year getting bigger, but did you ever imagine that it would
06:46be as big as it is now and as profitable as it is now and how enormous it is?
06:52It's bigger than literally watching the games has become secondary to people playing fantasy.
06:58Well, this is how we take in the games, right?
07:00We take it in through wagering, we take it in through fantasy.
07:02It's crafting our own sports entertainment experience around something that we really
07:07can't control, but we can feel like we can control a little bit.
07:10And that's fun.
07:11It's fun on a Sunday.
07:12It's another way to get that action.
07:13And I think what's so interesting to me is the evolution, you know, you see all these
07:16dynasty leagues in the last five to 10 years, you see all these big high stakes leagues
07:20that have popped up too, where people are making big investments in the fantasy leagues.
07:25And look, NFL is a tough one.
07:26Injuries can really hurt you, which is why it's really important to understand.
07:32I think we lost Joe there.
07:36Just a dramatic, just a dramatic crash and burn at the end.
07:41We got him back.
07:42Can we get him?
07:43I think I got him there.
07:44Here we go.
07:45Finish what you were saying there, Joe.
07:46You were right there talking about these enormous investments in dynasty leagues.
07:50Yeah, it is.
07:51And look, it's really tough.
07:52The dynasty leagues, the big time NFFC leagues, all these different high stakes leagues that
07:57are out there too.
07:58But this is why the value on the board is so important, understanding how to work that
08:02value, because that's how you get advantage in your casual league and high stakes leagues
08:06all across the board.
08:07It's having a strategy and being able to be flexible and be prepared in drafts.
08:11Those are the two things, you know, you can't control too much, but you can control being
08:16prepared and being flexible and having different plans as the draft unfolds.
