PAGASA: Cloudy skies, scattered rains in Luzon, W. Visayas due to ‘habagat’

00:00Southwest Monsun continues to be a hot spot in the Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao regions.

00:10Compared to the cloudy skies and the high chance of heavy rains,

00:15there is a lot of sunshine in the western section of Luzon.

00:18In the areas of Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan,

00:24we expect continuous rains in the mentioned areas.

00:29That's why in these areas, we should be prepared for floods and landslides

00:34if we are to experience continuous rains.

00:37It is more likely in the time that we expect in Metro Manila and other parts of our country.

00:43Even so, early morning thunderstorms are still possible here in the western section of a large part of Luzon,

00:51the western section of Visayas, and Mindanao.

00:54For the remainder of the day, the weather will be clear,

00:57but thunderstorms are still possible in the late afternoon to evening.

01:01Over the weekend until early next week,

01:03we expect high chances of floods and landslides in the northern part of Luzon.

01:11Meanwhile, we expect improving weather conditions starting in the middle of next week

01:16in the areas of Palawan and Occidental Mindoro.

01:20This will continue to be clear for the time being, from cloudy to cloudy skies,

01:24with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in a large part of Visayas and Mindanao

01:31for the next three to five days.

01:33At present, we still do not have a low-pressure area

01:38or time inside and outside our Philippine Area of Responsibility

01:42that could affect our country in the coming days.

01:47As for the weather conditions here in Luzon,

01:51due to heavy rainfall,

01:53we still expect high chances of floods in the Ilocos region,

01:58areas of Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.

02:02So, we should be prepared for possible floods in these areas.

02:06It will be clearer here in Metro Manila and in the isolated areas of Luzon.

02:10However, I repeat, early morning thunderstorms are still possible.

02:14So, these floods will only be temporary

02:17and the weather conditions will be clearer from morning to evening.

02:22So, we expect the weather conditions to be warm and clear for the remainder of the day.

02:26However, when it comes to late afternoon to evening,

02:29there are still chances of early floods and thunderstorms.

02:33So, it is still better to bring an umbrella,

02:35just remove it in the rain,

02:37this early morning and later in the afternoon.

02:40Maximum temperature forecast for this day is wide.

02:43It is possible to reach 31 degrees Celsius.

02:46It is 23 degrees Celsius here in Baguio City

02:49and 34 degrees Celsius in Tagagarao.

02:52Maximum temperature forecast for Metro Manila today is possible to reach 32 degrees Celsius.

02:58It is 31 degrees Celsius in the area of Tagaytay

03:00and 32 degrees Celsius in the area of Legazpi.

03:05In the areas of Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,

03:08because of the floods, we also expect scattered thunderstorms in the areas of Palawan.

03:14So, in Puerto Princesa and Calayan Islands,

03:16we expect that a large part of Palawan will experience floods caused by floods.

03:21Meanwhile, in the western section of Visayas and Mindanao,

03:25isolated thunderstorms are still possible.

04:04Maximum temperature forecast for Calayan Islands and Puerto Princesa today

04:08is possible to reach 32°C.

04:11It is also 32°C in the areas of Iloilo and Tacloban,

04:15and 33°C in the area of Cebu.

04:19Maximum temperature forecast for Cagayan de Oro today

04:22is possible to reach 32°C.

04:25It is also 33°C in the area of Davao,

04:28and 33°C in the area of Zamboanga.

04:32As for the condition of our ocean,

04:34there are still no high-level gale warnings in any areas of our islands,

04:38and it is expected that the waves will be moderate

04:42in most parts of our country.

04:44However, our fellow fishermen should still be careful

04:48because if there is an offshore thunderstorm activity,

04:51especially here in the western section of our country,

04:54because the sea level is decreasing,

04:55so most likely, the chances of thunderstorms in the western section are high.

04:59We should still be prepared for strong winds

05:05that will also affect our waves.
