00:00Good morning to all of you. This is the latest weather update for Tuesday, August 13, 2024.
00:08Currently, the typhoon that we are watching outside our Philippine Area of Responsibility is still in full swing.
00:15It is in the Tropical Storm category with an international name, Sea Amphil.
00:20The name Amphil comes from Cambodia, which means tamarin.
00:25As we can see in our latest satellite image, the Tropical Storm Amphil is far from our land,
00:31which is why we do not expect it to affect any part of our country in the coming days
00:38because it will continue to move in the direction northeastward or away from our Philippine Area of Responsibility,
00:44although it will slow down its movement.
00:49Meanwhile, the weather system that is currently affecting our country
00:53is still being affected by the Southwest Monsoon or Hanging Habagat,
00:58which is affecting some parts of the Luzon and the western section of the Visayas.
01:03As we can see in our latest satellite image, we can see thick clouds,
01:08especially in the northern part of the Luzon,
01:11which is why we are still hoping that it will continue to rain in some parts of the northern Luzon,
01:17central Luzon, and also here in the extreme northern Luzon area.
01:21Meanwhile, in most parts of our country, we are generally in fair weather conditions.
01:25We do not see any thick clouds that could cause rain all day long in most parts of our country,
01:33although we do see some clouds that do not last long.
01:37We are still hoping that the generally fair weather conditions will continue,
01:41especially in the afternoon,
01:43and there are still chances of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms,
01:47or sudden or quick rains.
01:51In the coming days, we are hoping that the Tropical Storm Amphibious will continue to move away from our country.
01:58Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon will continue to move until the coming weekend,
02:04and it is possible for it to rain, especially in other parts of the northern Luzon.
02:08Meanwhile, afternoon rain showers or thunderstorms will be common in most parts of our country.
02:15That is why we are preparing our umbrellas.
02:20In the coming days in Luzon, as we mentioned earlier,
02:25the Southwest Monsoon or Tropical Storm Amphibious will continue to move,
02:29especially in the areas of Ilocos Region, Zambales, Batanes, and Babuyan Islands.
02:36It is possible for it to rain and thunderstorms to occur.
02:41Meanwhile, in the northern part of Luzon, the generally fair weather conditions will continue.
02:47There are still chances of sudden or quick rain showers,
02:52usually in the afternoon or at night, or possibly in the early morning.
02:56As for the temperature, we expect it to be around 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:04For Baguio, it will be 17 to 23 degrees Celsius.
03:07For Tuguegarao, it will be 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:11Maximum temperatures here in Metro Manila will reach 32 degrees Celsius.
03:17For Tagaytay, it will be 23 to 30 degrees Celsius.
03:20Meanwhile, here in Legazpi, it will be 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
03:26As for the weather conditions in the northern part of our country,
03:29as we saw in the satellite image,
03:31it is not visible that it will rain heavily,
03:34and that it is possible for it to rain in the northern part of our province.
03:39So, we expect it to be warm, especially in the afternoon,
03:43and there are still chances of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms,
03:47usually in the afternoon or at night.
03:50As for the temperature in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,
03:56for Kalayaan Islands and Puerto Princesa,
03:59our maximum temperatures will reach 32 degrees Celsius,
04:02as well as in Iloilo and Tacloban.
04:05Meanwhile, the expected temperature in Cebu will be 26 to 33 degrees Celsius.
04:12For Zamboanga, it will be 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.
04:17For Cagayan de Oro, it will be 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
04:20And for Davao, it will be 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
04:26As for the condition of our ocean,
04:28we still do not have any gale warnings as of now.
04:30The ocean will experience waves up to the depth of the ocean.
04:35So, our fellow countrymen will be able to travel far,
04:37especially those who have small fishing boats.
