00:04:22Talent like never before
00:04:25and a coveted chance to make it big in the music industry.
00:04:30This is a season like no other
00:04:33and it starts right now.
00:05:03First one.
00:05:17The silence is deafening.
00:05:19It is.
00:05:21It's like nerve-wracking for me.
00:05:24So quiet.
00:05:37All that I have is all that you've given me
00:05:45Did you never worry that I'd come to depend on you?
00:05:51Okay.
00:05:52I gave you all the love I had in me
00:06:00Such a brief moment.
00:06:02And I can't believe it's true
00:06:09You better stay
00:06:12Before you tell me all about
00:06:17You better stay
00:06:20Before you go and break my heart
00:06:31You better stay
00:06:33Baby stay
00:06:39You better stay
00:06:41Before you go and break my heart
00:06:51What?
00:06:52Okay.
00:06:54You, you, you better stay
00:07:16Wow.
00:07:18That's so good.
00:07:20You better stay.
00:07:22You better stay.
00:07:23Yes.
00:07:24Oh, wow.
00:07:25You just, you just like ate that song alive.
00:07:29Thank you so much.
00:07:30It was so good.
00:07:32What's your name?
00:07:33My name is Shannon.
00:07:34I'm a music classroom teacher.
00:07:37And my students are the ones that signed me up to do this on my behalf.
00:07:46I love that.
00:07:47This is for them.
00:07:48I love that.
00:07:49How long have you been singing?
00:07:50Since I was three years old.
00:07:51Yes.
00:07:52Yeah.
00:07:53You can tell that is like in your blood.
00:07:54Like you're not thinking, you're just feeling.
00:07:56Yeah.
00:07:57And when you can couple feeling with technical facility and prowess,
00:08:02that to me is like those are the singers that are legends.
00:08:06Those are the singers that are meant to do this and that will go far.
00:08:09And you will go far in this competition.
00:08:12Thank you so much.
00:08:15I can help you make your dreams come true if you choose Team Adam.
00:08:24Oh, what did I just hear?
00:08:27That was ridiculous.
00:08:29Oh, my gosh.
00:08:32Kind of ironic that you were singing,
00:08:34you better stop because you just stopped the nation with that voice.
00:08:39People would have been like getting up to go to the fridge
00:08:42and then you're like, you better stop.
00:08:45People going to the toilet would have very quickly finished
00:08:49their business just so they could gather around the TV
00:08:53and go, don't move anyone watching at home.
00:08:56That is amazing.
00:08:57And you know what it is?
00:08:59As a coach, it's a voice that is so malleable in the sense
00:09:04that we can go anywhere.
00:09:05We can choose whatever song.
00:09:06We can get creative.
00:09:08I get excited for singers like you.
00:09:10This is why I do the show.
00:09:12I'm so glad that these new coaches have got to experience
00:09:15the level of talent like you so early on as well.
00:09:19I really loved what I heard.
00:09:21You're incredible.
00:09:22I would love you on Team Guy.
00:09:26Wow, that was spectacular.
00:09:29I loved listening to you turning around and seeing how gorgeous you are
00:09:33and how much you owned what you were doing.
00:09:36And you were so in the moment.
00:09:38And I just loved your voice.
00:09:39I mean, you have such a powerful voice,
00:09:41such a range, like you can really kind of take you anywhere.
00:09:45You have something special.
00:09:46You can tell these guys are right.
00:09:48Like your voice can do anything.
00:09:50I would love, love to have you on my team.
00:09:55Be my angel.
00:09:58Your students must worship you.
00:10:02They are so lucky.
00:10:04You've got a four-chair turn here.
00:10:07Guy Sebastian, national icon, you know, absolutely incredible.
00:10:11The Youngest Grammy winner ever.
00:10:15She's an amazing artist.
00:10:17And Adam Lambert, like, absolutely crazy.
00:10:22And the thing is that I think you could be up here, you know,
00:10:26alongside any of them if you make smart choices right now.
00:10:30That smart choice would be to go with Team Kate, 100%.
00:10:34Are you begging over there, Adam?
00:10:48Let me help.
00:10:50You don't need much.
00:10:54I have to say it would be such a treat to work with any of you.
00:10:57You are all super beautiful.
00:11:03In this moment, I am going to go with you.
00:11:10Guy.
00:11:18Oh, my gosh.
00:11:19What a great voice.
00:11:21What a beautiful voice.
00:11:23Oh, gosh.
00:11:26Hey, watch it, watch it.
00:11:29You're falling over on your first turn.
00:11:38Impressive.
00:11:44Hello.
00:11:45Hello, family.
00:11:46How are you?
00:11:47Lovely to meet you all.
00:11:48Good to meet you.
00:11:52I was crying.
00:11:53I was crying, mate.
00:11:54Of course.
00:11:55Of course.
00:11:56Congratulations.
00:11:57Thank you so much.
00:11:58Yeah, that's right.
00:11:59Only briefly, because then we've got to get into the next stage.
00:12:03Thank you so much.
00:12:04Well done.
00:12:05Were you crying?
00:12:06She was crying.
00:12:07She was crying.
00:12:08Of course.
00:12:09Of course.
00:12:10I knew, I knew they were going to alter.
00:12:13I knew they were going to change.
00:12:15I can't believe that.
00:12:17Turns four chairs.
00:12:19There's more than I could have ever imagined.
00:12:21So I'm feeling very grateful right now.
00:12:24Are you satisfied?
00:12:25I'm satisfied.
00:12:26I'm lucky this year.
00:12:27It's a great panel.
00:12:28I think every coach has something different to offer.
00:12:32Kate is incredible.
00:12:34Her vocals are insane.
00:12:38Half a billion people around the world watch Kate perform at Eurovision in 2019.
00:12:45She's one force to be reckoned with.
00:12:50What makes The Voice special is that it's a true celebration of the art of singing.
00:12:58And just how powerful it can be.
00:13:04It's not just about singing.
00:13:06It's not just about singing.
00:13:08It's not just about singing.
00:13:10Just how powerful it can be.
00:13:14I know that this show can change people's lives.
00:13:18And I don't take it lightly.
00:13:21Leigh-Anne's known for having a powerhouse voice.
00:13:24She can sing anything.
00:13:28She's won two Grammys.
00:13:31Twelve Billboard Music Awards.
00:13:34Two World Music Awards.
00:13:36There's a lot of awards in the Rhymes household.
00:13:40What attracts me to doing The Voice?
00:13:44Being able to help instill wisdom and confidence.
00:13:49You get to play and create with these artists and see what they're capable of.
00:13:53Simply put, Adam Lambert's a freak.
00:13:56Multi-platinum artist.
00:13:58He's sold over eight million records.
00:14:02Pretty much the whole world tuned in when Adam performed with Queen for the Platinum Jubilee celebration.
00:14:08It's insane.
00:14:10I've always loved the show.
00:14:12You know, in a world that is so wrapped up in the way people look.
00:14:18I think it says a lot about honoring talent.
00:14:21Make it about The Voice first.
00:14:23I think that's really important.
00:14:37Hi, I'm Elias Langdon. I'm 20 and I'm from the middle of bloody nowhere.
00:14:42A place called Bort.
00:14:49I live on my family farm and I'm a fourth generation farmer.
00:14:54Being a farmer, it is sort of hard yakka.
00:14:57You just gotta go hammer and tongs as much as you can to make sure it all turns out alright.
00:15:02We have around 1,500 sheep on our property.
00:15:08There's a lot of day-to-day work that goes into looking after them.
00:15:12Making sure they're all fit and healthy.
00:15:14So they do become quite a large part of your life.
00:15:18In October 2022, flooding hit our tent.
00:15:22Our neighbouring property got wiped out.
00:15:25I saw my mate, whose farm it is, out in their tent.
00:15:30We carried 90 kilo ewes.
00:15:33We were just grabbing them, like two each, through the water.
00:15:37And we were just trying to get them out.
00:15:40We were just trying to get them out.
00:15:42We saved 175 ewes and then 175 drowned from just not being able to get to them in time.
00:15:51After a long, hard day on the farm, I tend to take the kittah down to the paddock and just relax.
00:15:58I've never had any proper seeding lessons or anything before.
00:16:01So I just go down to the paddock and just relax.
00:16:05I've never had any proper seeding lessons or anything before.
00:16:08So I just go down to the paddock and just relax.
00:16:12I play some tunes to the dog and if it's smiling at me, then I think I'm doing a good job.
00:16:15Not really sure if I sound any good though.
00:16:21Performing on the voice stage is pretty terrifying.
00:16:24Coming from a small country town, you're not really used to playing in front of that many people.
00:16:28So being in front of this many eyes on the voice will be quite scary.
00:16:42I've never had any proper seeding lessons or anything before.
00:16:45Coming from a small country town, you're not really used to playing in front of that many people.
00:16:48Coming from a small country town, you're not really used to playing in front of that many people.
00:16:51Coming from a small country town, you're not really used to playing in front of that many people.
00:16:54Coming from a small country town, you're not really used to playing in front of that many people.
00:16:57Coming from a small country town, you're not really used to playing in front of that many people.
00:17:00Coming from a small country town, you're not really used to playing in front of that many people.
00:17:03Coming from a small country town, you're not really used to playing in front of that many people.
00:17:05Coming from a small country town, you're not really used to playing in front of that many people.
00:17:07Coming from a small country town, you're not really used to playing in front of that many people.
00:17:12That's a nice bow.
00:17:18Oh, pretty.
00:17:42I know I'm irresistible.
00:18:12I know I'm irresistible.
00:18:14I know I'm irresistible.
00:18:16I know I'm irresistible.
00:18:18I know I'm irresistible.
00:18:20I know I'm irresistible.

00:18:26I know I'm irresistible.
00:18:28I know I'm irresistible.
00:18:30I know I'm irresistible.
00:18:32I know I'm irresistible.
00:18:34I know I'm irresistible.
00:18:36I know I'm irresistible.
00:18:38I know I'm irresistible.
00:18:40Well done, that was incredible.
00:18:42Well done, that was incredible.
00:18:44Wow yeah.
00:18:45It was gorgeous
00:18:46So what's your name?
00:18:48My name is Eli Slangen. I'm 20 years old
00:18:50and I'm from a little country town in Victoria
00:18:52called Bort.
00:18:54Bort?
00:18:54Cool.
00:18:55Yeah.
00:18:55Wow.
00:18:56Wow.
00:18:56That was
00:18:57I just love
00:18:58that grit, that crunchiness you have in your voice.
00:19:01It's sexy.
00:19:02It's emotionally under pinned,
00:19:04with this real authenticity
00:19:06like I felt that you were really inside of that song.
00:19:08song. It was artistic, it was musical. You're a great singer and I would absolutely love
00:19:14to have you on my team. I think you belong on team Kate.
00:19:17Thank you so much.
00:19:20Yeah, you had some stunning, stunning moments in that song. How long have you been singing?
00:19:27Because I feel like there might be some newness here.
00:19:29Yeah, well I've been singing since I was about 15 years old.
00:19:33Okay.
00:19:34So just like really small country town gig.
00:19:37Okay, yeah, yeah. So this is a really big deal for you.
00:19:40Yeah, pretty huge.
00:19:41Yeah.
00:19:42Good for you. Were you nervous?
00:19:46Yes.
00:19:47Yeah.
00:19:48Yeah.
00:19:49Yeah.
00:19:50You can tell that, but it was so beautiful to see. It was so innocent. That moved me.
00:19:55So yeah, you were amazing and especially for be your first kind of big thing. That's amazing.
00:20:00Congratulations.
00:20:01Yeah.
00:20:02Thank you so much.
00:20:03Yeah.
00:20:04Elias, what does a normal day look like for you? Like what do you do for a living, all
00:20:10of that sort of stuff?
00:20:11So I live on a sheep and cereal farm with my parents.
00:20:15Hi.
00:20:16Hello.
00:20:17Hello parents. They're so cute.
00:20:19Every day working on the farm with the old man, so.
00:20:23Oh, awesome. Was it them that encouraged you to do the show?
00:20:27Yeah, and sort of the community of our town as well sort of wanted to get behind me a
00:20:32bit, so.
00:20:33That's great.
00:20:34Are you guys musical?
00:20:36No.
00:20:37Not at all?
00:20:38No.
00:20:39No?
00:20:40We love Kate.
00:20:41You love Kate?
00:20:42Oh.
00:20:43Oh, no. That's never a good sign.
00:20:48Never a good sign.
00:20:49Yeah.
00:20:50It's good for Guy to be humbled every now and again.
00:20:52Oh, yes. Oh, yes. That little edge of almost desperation to your voice and that little
00:21:00grittiness, that's why I turned. I think you've got something that is unique and what cuts
00:21:06you, you know, it sort of takes you away from all the perfect singers because you've got
00:21:10grit.
00:21:11Yeah.
00:21:12And that's really cool.
00:21:13Thank you so much.
00:21:14Yeah.
00:21:15I would love you on team, Guy.
00:21:16I have to say, you know, the thing that blew my mind just now about learning about you
00:21:21is how young you are and your voice is so mature. It's really cool that it sounds so
00:21:25lived in and weathered and sort of, you know, it has an experience to it. And to find out
00:21:31that you're 20, you said 20?
00:21:32Yeah.
00:21:33That's wild. You know, I can't imagine how it's going to just grow and mature as you
00:21:37get older.
00:21:39You have a fantastic sound. It's very commercial. It sounds like the radio. It's very cool.
00:21:44Thank you so much.
00:21:45Bravo for you.
00:21:47But you have a big decision to make now. Are you ready to make this decision?
00:21:52Oh, I don't know.
00:21:54You got three coaches here that are gunning for you.
00:21:56Yeah.
00:21:57What's it going to be?
00:22:15I think I'm going to have to go with Kate.
00:22:17Yeah!
00:22:21Yes!
00:22:24Thank you so much. You won't regret it.
00:22:27I won't regret it.
00:22:28We're going to have a great time. You have to meet your mum and dad.
00:22:37So sweet.
00:22:38Really exciting.
00:22:39Thanks so much.
00:22:41Look, it's 20 with that voice.
00:22:43Yeah.
00:22:44That's so, like, rich.
00:22:45Congratulations.
00:22:46Yay!
00:22:47You guys must be so proud.
00:22:48I'm so proud.
00:22:49That was just so brilliant.
00:22:50Well done, darling.
00:22:51Great to meet you.
00:22:52You too.
00:22:54Lovely to meet you.
00:22:55You did an incredible job.
00:22:56Oh, lovely to meet you.
00:22:58I can't wait to keep going on this journey with you.
00:23:00It's going to be really fun.
00:23:02Bye, guys.
00:23:03Bye.
00:23:04Thanks so much.
00:23:05Great job, mate.
00:23:13Well done, Kate.
00:23:14First one.
00:23:15My first.
00:23:16That's a first.
00:23:17Good first.
00:23:18Popped my cherry.
00:23:19Yes.
00:23:20Yeah.
00:23:21I'm just being...
00:23:22I'm really picky.
00:23:23That's a positive way of looking at it.
00:23:25Yes.
00:23:26I like that.
00:23:27You know, got to keep things positive.
00:23:29Not feeling like a loser just yet.
00:23:31No, no, no.
00:23:32It's early days.
00:23:34Ultimately, the best woman won.
00:23:36And I can't wait to work more with Elias.
00:23:39I think he's a really exciting talent.
00:23:42One of the great things about this show is it really is solely about the voice.
00:23:47That's the beauty of music.
00:23:49Anyone could do it.
00:23:51I think a great voice can have you within two or three words.
00:23:56You just know.
00:23:58That's what keeps me coming back because I've still got faith that there is amazing talent
00:24:03to find out there.
00:24:09I was put on this earth to sing.
00:24:11Music is everything.
00:24:14Music is a part of my soul.
00:24:16Music is my life.
00:24:18It's all I do.
00:24:22I've always dreamed of being a full-time musician.
00:24:25That's why I'm here.
00:24:28This is my one shot.
00:24:29I can't mess this up.
00:24:32Music's always been a part of me.
00:24:34And I just want this so bad.
00:24:39I never really imagined myself being on stage quite as big as it is.
00:24:43I'm so nervous.
00:24:44Everything's shaking.
00:24:46This is very much now or never.
00:24:58There's no question that Australia has great talent.
00:25:00But this is just mind-blowing.
00:25:02I've just completely lost my shit over here.
00:25:04It's really exciting to help these singers understand they're amazing.
00:25:08Some of them have never been on stage before.
00:25:11They're amazing.
00:25:12Some of them have never been told that.
00:25:14And some of them don't truly believe that yet.
00:25:17That was freakishly good.
00:25:19You're a bolt of electricity.
00:25:22The best part about my job as a coach on The Voice
00:25:24is getting to help somebody get closer to their dream.
00:25:28I see a major rock star in front of me.
00:25:31I've done this show for six seasons now.
00:25:33Hands down, this is the best talent we've ever seen on the show.
00:26:00It's a scary thought to perform on The Voice stage.
00:26:03I've never sang in public before.
00:26:06Everyone's there just to hear you sing.
00:26:09That is something that is terrifying to me.
00:26:16I'm James Vass, I'm 20 years old and I'm from Melbourne, Victoria.
00:26:21There was a turning point in high school where I saw people singing
00:26:24and I was like, this is something I love to do
00:26:26but I always felt like I didn't have that courage to go up on stage and sing.
00:26:30So I secretly emailed a singing teacher at my school
00:26:33asking if I could start singing lessons.
00:26:39I kept singing a secret for years because I was embarrassed, to be honest.
00:26:42And I wasn't confident in the fact that someone like me could be a singer.
00:26:46But music is something that I love and singing is something I love
00:26:49and I shouldn't be ashamed of that.
00:26:51I hope that you turn a chair because you deserve this so much.
00:26:55My twin sister was floored when she first heard me sing.
00:26:58It was crazy. I don't think she realised that I actually had that in me.
00:27:01And I want every single person in that room to hear your voice
00:27:05because you're just incredible. You're incredible.
00:27:07She'd always encourage me to apply for The Voice.
00:27:09Every time there was an application, she'd always be messaging me
00:27:12being like, you've got to apply, things like that.
00:27:14She's very supportive in that way.
00:27:16So I'm really glad and grateful to have someone like that by my side.
00:27:19So let's see your chair turn. Let's see it.
00:27:25For the coaches to turn their chair, it's a huge challenge.
00:27:30So many things are going through my mind.
00:27:34Will I be on key?
00:27:37Will I finish the vibrato?
00:27:40Will I not scream?
00:27:43There's a lot of things that could go wrong.
00:27:46I am just so nervous.
00:27:54Let's go, Jo!
00:27:56We love you.
00:28:04I'm so nervous.
00:28:26Oh, wow.
00:28:28It's never ending.
00:28:31We have been here before.
00:28:35I can't stay this time
00:28:38because I don't love you anymore.
00:28:44Please stay away, but
00:28:46don't come any closer.
00:28:51Don't try to change my mind.
00:28:55I'm being cruel
00:29:25I don't think you could
00:29:55That was impressive. Thank you so much. What's your name? I'm James. I'm 20 years old and I'm from Melbourne
00:30:06James
00:30:07Tell me a little bit about yourself. I mean, where did that voice come from? Have you always had it?
00:30:11Yeah, well not really
00:30:13Um, I kind of kept singing a secret for a while until I was in high school when I was 15
00:30:18I realized that I have a voice and I really wanted to use it
00:30:22But I really kept it a secret for a lot of my life
00:30:24How would you sing singing in secret? Like what are you singing into a pillow or something?
00:30:28No, I was very embarrassed to like sing. I felt like it wasn't something that I could do like properly
00:30:35Hey James. Yeah, can I let you know a secret?
00:30:38You can sing really well
00:30:42Thank you
00:30:43I'm glad you let the cat out of the bag because that was really really good
00:30:48Thank you as a coach like you you have everything that is needed you had me in the palm of your hand
00:30:54That is like a perfect voice for me
00:30:57And so don't doubt yourself you're meant to sing and I think someone like you would be great for my team
00:31:07You're brand new at this basically which is incredible like to tackle an Adele song like that's that's a challenge, right?
00:31:13And you did it really well and you did it
00:31:18I think there's this whole other piece of you that is yet to be discovered. You know, we all
00:31:24Go through our own fears like just because we've been doing this forever. We're not exempt from it at all
00:31:29and I would love to help you really learn how to hold that fear and to also
00:31:36Recognize your greatness like even further to see how great you are because you're really beautiful your beautiful soul
00:31:42Thank you an incredible voice
00:31:49I
00:31:53Love it when you when you sing quietly, it's
00:31:56It's got such an interesting
00:31:59Rich velvety tone. I love your vibrato and then obviously yeah, you have the capacity to like nail it and belt it out
00:32:06But when you bring it in to me that sounded really distinctive and different to any voice that I've heard before
00:32:13You've got an amazing talent. I think there are so many just simple small things
00:32:18I'd love to work with you on
00:32:20to help you
00:32:21truly feel that sense of confidence and that sense of
00:32:25Owning the stage the minute you walk on I'd just love to explore that with you
00:32:34The fear thing is major and once you do overcome it it like the sky's the limit and I feel like coming here was a
00:32:41Huge step for you. I actually feel like you're very ready. You're very poised. Thank you so much
00:32:46I know I didn't turn my chair. I'm looking for something kind of specific. So
00:32:51There's like certain boxes. I'm trying to check but I think you're gonna do really well
00:32:58Yeah, it's gonna be great
00:33:00James there's three coaches that obviously want you on their team. I agree with Adam you are ready. So start believing
00:33:09Including with this decision believe in yourself. Oh my gosh. Oh, wow
00:33:17I
00:33:20Was not expecting this result actually you guys are all amazing
00:33:27This is this is a dream
00:33:31Growing up with this person for like most of my life, so I think I'm gonna go with guy
00:33:36I
00:33:48Don't even at a secret it's not a secret anymore
00:33:56Mainly what artists do you listen? I'm a big sucker for Adele Sam Smith. He's special. Yeah
00:34:02He's got something special the sweet soul. Yeah, he's really got like a
00:34:06Quality, that's like really special. Yeah. Yeah, it would sound great on record. I think the natural singer. Yeah, just a real natural singer
00:34:17That was crazy
00:34:20Dreaming like I can't do this. I can't choose
00:34:23And I was glad that I know I love Adam
00:34:26But I was like at least there's less to choose from I can't choose
00:34:29They're all so amazing. So encouraging and I loved you. Oh my god, you're a superstar
00:34:42It was good pitching I mean you guys did well it was good it was strong we don't need your feedback
00:34:50Yeah, would you like to coach us
00:34:59All right
00:35:11You know you guys will get some people in your team eventually it's I'm here all day if you need any anything
00:35:21Coming up I have never stood on a stage like this before
00:35:25The blind auditions continue I need you as our coaches battle to build their teams
00:35:31I had goosebumps from the moment you opened your mouth
00:35:36Big shakeup that allows our coaches to lay down the law like never before
00:35:43the ultimate block
00:35:54This is the boy
00:36:04I'm Lana. I'm 32 years old and I'm from Sydney. I
00:36:11Am a receptionist and client liaison manager at my uncle's skin clinic
00:36:19And look it's great I do it to pay the bills I
00:36:23Love who I work with but at the end of the day, it's not what makes my heart
00:36:29Happy and I'm always constantly wondering when am I gonna get out of here? My heart's in music
00:36:42I've been hustling in the industry
00:36:45For about 10 years or so, I've sung backing vocals for Dua Lipa, Rita Ora, Kylie Minogue
00:36:55You kind of get a name for yourself as in this is the girl that does backing vocals
00:37:00But what I really want to be doing is singing
00:37:03To stadiums huge the loud crowds
00:37:09Become my own artist
00:37:12When is it gonna be my turn
00:37:15I
00:37:21Would be so validating if I were to turn a chair I
00:37:25Will know that I'm on the right path to becoming a solo artist that all this time all these perseverance
00:37:33It's not for nothing
00:37:38But
00:37:40Standing on that stage in front center instead of in the background. I'm nervous
00:37:50Being tough doing what I do for this long
00:37:54if I don't have a chair, I
00:37:57Don't think I was singing again. I
00:38:00Am petrified
00:38:11To your spot, what's that full-on cheering squad over there? Oh, that's a good reaction. Yeah
00:38:26Tell me tell me
00:38:34Okay
00:38:40It's a totally
00:38:46If you don't
00:39:10I always have a serious
00:39:40Oh
00:40:10What's your name
00:40:12Hi Lana, how are you?
00:40:14That was so cool. That was like that was the minute you open your mouth. I was like, okay, okay
00:40:21What's she gonna do? Um, where are you from? What's that? What's the deal? How long have you been singing? I'm from Sydney
00:40:26Uh-huh. I've been singing God since I was like
00:40:30Yeah, hi. Yeah, I do a lot of backing vocal stuff. I've been like
00:40:35Working in the industry for about 10 years. Cool. What kind of style do you usually sing? Like do you what's your like lane?
00:40:41I love old school soul jazz. Yeah, I'm an old school girl. Yeah
00:40:47We call it like stank face vocals
00:40:50That's what you gave me. I was behind there going like
00:40:57When something's so funky and so deep that you're like, oh, yeah, oh my god
00:41:02You gave me the stank face like within seconds so you got it that was a very cool choice
00:41:08I would love to work with you
00:41:13Lana
00:41:15That had everything your voice is is powerful
00:41:18It's a bit at times it's a bit Amy Winehouse and then and then it goes to kind of Tina Turner
00:41:23And no her voice is Lana. Her voice is
00:41:29Thanks Adam
00:41:30But you can pull out a lot of different things, which I love I can tell that you're seasoned
00:41:34I can tell that you've done this you're confident if you're on team guy, I would just say keep doing that
00:41:40Let's not be intimidated by anyone or anything. Let's go as out there as we can and
00:41:45Accentuate all the best bits about Lana. You're amazing. Thank you
00:41:51Thank you so much
00:41:54Your your spirit is infectious like your playfulness
00:41:58I love how flirty you are like you sold me that song you exuded sex as soon as I turned out
00:42:04I was like, oh, hey
00:42:08I mean it just was like I was just blown away. I just love your confidence and the artistry is there
00:42:13It's now just like kind of honing in on that and like expanding it. I think it would be a blast to work with you
00:42:19So team Leanne for sure
00:42:24What do you want out of this experience what's the next step I
00:42:28Have always wanted to be
00:42:30here
00:42:32front center stage, but I guess I've never
00:42:36Really had the confidence to just do it and I just I
00:42:39I've been working at it for 10 years and it's just like it's for me. It's like now whenever I'm yeah, I'm ready to go
00:42:50It's amazing how that confidence does come with age particularly as a woman
00:42:55I think like you really come into yourself. Yeah at a certain point in your late 20s or even later sometimes and
00:43:02Suddenly you don't give a shit what anyone else. Yes anymore and you're ready to step into your power
00:43:07We all heard that I would love to work with you
00:43:11particularly on on song choice be so curious to see
00:43:16Where your tendrils could reach to because you've got bucket loads of talent and
00:43:22Yeah, you could go anywhere
00:43:27In my experience having
00:43:30Competed on a show like this and having helped an artist on a show like this in the past
00:43:34I think one of the key things is the element of surprise
00:43:38You want your time on the show to show people all the little angles and facets of your talent?
00:43:43And so you do one thing one week and then you surprise them the next week
00:43:47Yeah, there is a strategy to winning this game and I know how I can get you there
00:43:54That's fighting
00:43:57Adam's gone in for a double pitch Kate Miller hide keys use the word tendrils. I
00:44:03Mean, I feel like we all want you a lot. We all we all want you on our team. Who's it gonna be?
00:44:13I think team Kate. Yeah, you need a man
00:44:17It's a really
00:44:20Because I love you all oh
00:44:24On my knees
00:44:26Come on
00:44:32I am going with
00:44:40Team Adams
00:44:44Oh
00:44:47So nice to meet you we're gonna have fun we're gonna have a lot of fun I swear I promise
00:44:52No, you look amazing. We're not we're gonna share clothes, too
00:44:58Shoes
00:45:09Hey family
00:45:12Are you hey dad, how are you? Give me a hug you guys must be so proud. She killed it. She killed it
00:45:19Oh, we're so proud of you. We're gonna do this together. I believe in you. I think this is gonna be great
00:45:26So excited so excited bye guys, thank you. Thank you. See you soon
00:45:41The learners permit got me riled up
00:45:42You can try your learners played away. Oh, she's gonna be fun. She's so pretty. She's so yeah, and she's like ready
00:45:50She's very yours. Yeah, she's very shy and reserved. Yeah
00:45:58That's me I'm a tender flower
00:46:06This is the moment we've all been waiting for
00:46:08This
00:46:11Season on the voice
00:46:15The block is back
00:46:19With the block I can stop one of my fellow coaches from getting the artist that I really want
00:46:23I never knew such a great liar guy just when you think that you've convinced an artist to pick you as their coach
00:46:30There comes the block button. She was clearly very threatened by me and this time it's bigger
00:46:37Than ever
00:46:40There is a new block this year the ultimate block
00:46:45Which means I get to block any other coach who's in the running for that artist
00:46:51The ultimate block shows them I will stop at nothing to have them on my team
00:46:56I hope you realize how much I want you
00:47:07Okay, that did not deserve applause
00:47:09You
00:47:35Do you guys have a lot of people coming up to you
00:47:37What is it like for you having like mega fans and running into them?
00:47:40It's weird for me because I mean, I've been around for so long
00:47:44That it's like people feel like they've grown up with me, you know, like I'm a part of family. They have yeah
00:47:49Yeah, they really have. Yeah, do you get like stopped at the airport and stuff? Oh, yeah. Yeah, as long as it's not 5 a.m
00:47:56I'm good, right
00:47:58No
00:48:01You're never gonna forget who I am my name and Bosco hand in hand
00:48:06We had rhymes Wow an international star. She's made such an impact on the industry. I'd love for her to turn the seat
00:48:12She's someone I've looked up to for a very long time. I'm absolutely so excited to sing in front of her
00:48:22She's had an incredibly long career
00:48:26She started doing this when she was nine years old
00:48:31Leanne has so much experience. I mean she recorded her first album when she was 11 released when she was 13 won a Grammy
00:48:38youngest ever at 14
00:48:42Over 48 million records
00:48:44Leanne's the highest-ranked female on the greatest of all time hottest 100 with how do I live and that's higher than the Beatles higher than
00:48:52Elvis higher than Queen and even higher than Beyonce
00:48:57I
00:48:58Love finding young fresh talent
00:49:01I've been building all this wisdom for the last three decades. So I feel like there's a big well to draw from I
00:49:07Can't wait to help them just come out of their shell and like fully into their power
00:49:23Singing was
00:49:24Always something that I've wanted to do but having a family early meant that I had to grow up a little bit faster than most
00:49:31people my age I
00:49:36Became a dad just before my 18th birthday
00:49:40We just had my daughter and then a month later. We were going for round two
00:49:45I
00:49:47Live in months apart
00:49:49Nothing can really prepare you for becoming a dad. It's so young but as soon as I saw my daughter's face
00:49:55I wouldn't have it any other way
00:49:59After I put my babies to bed I get ready to go to my job at a pig packing company
00:50:07It's definitely not a glamorous job, but I do it to provide for my family
00:50:11The best part about working night shift is that I can put my earpods in and sing pretty much for my whole shift and
00:50:18Chillers are nice and loud. So no one can hear me
00:50:23The song I'm singing is how do I live by Leanne Rimes I
00:50:29Grew up listening to Leanne in the background and pretty much my whole childhood because my mom absolutely loved her
00:50:36Yeah
00:50:38Definitely mixed emotions about singing Leanne song to her
00:50:43I'm hoping that nerves don't affect my performance
00:50:47I've been told my whole life that I have an amazing voice and vocals come quite easily to me
00:50:54So I can impress her
00:51:07Oh
00:51:22If I had to live without you, what kind of life would there be
00:51:29I
00:51:33Need you my arms need you to hold
00:51:41If you
00:51:45Maybe you would take away
00:51:59Oh
00:52:08If you
00:52:29I
00:52:31Oh
00:52:33Oh
00:52:55Hi, what's your name? My name is Manoa. I'm
00:52:5919 I'm living in Victoria, but I'm originally from New Zealand
00:53:05That was really beautiful. Do not get discouraged that we did not turn around. That is so hard
00:53:11To sing a coach's song. Were you really nervous?
00:53:15Yes. Yeah, I could tell and you have a beautiful voice. You can definitely tell you you can sing
00:53:20I think for me it was it was the nervous energy nervous energy can do crazy things to your voice
00:53:26Do you have a lot of experience singing?
00:53:29Yeah, I've been singing since I was real young but not in places like this, you know
00:53:36Yeah, then with in front of people like you guys. Yeah. Yeah
00:53:39I mean I get nervous singing in front of these guys
00:53:41It's hard
00:53:42But when you get really nervous your airways seize up you do you stop breathing at your head is the first thing that goes
00:53:48and that's the enemy of a good vocal quality and the trick is
00:53:54Harnessing those nerves to give you the energy for the performance
00:53:59You actually need the nerves I think and it just means that you're excited and that you care
00:54:08I actually do you mind if I get up and actually sing with you because I
00:54:13Yeah, of course. I
00:54:15Think maybe if I get up here with you, we would have a completely different outcome of this song
00:54:20I'm up here for support now. You don't have to be nervous anymore
00:54:22I mean actually that might make you even more nervous, but let's just like go with it. Okay
00:54:49Oh
00:55:19Oh
00:55:28Can you promise me that you'll come back
00:55:32because I
00:55:34Honestly think that you're special but I feel like you just weren't quite ready
00:55:38But I know you will be you have that potential. Absolutely. Yeah
00:55:44Thank you to your beautiful family
00:55:50Oh
00:55:52my heart
00:55:54My heart just feels for him because I I know you we all know there's something there. Yeah, it definitely is
00:56:01It's probably the most palpable nurse we've seen and we all know what that feels like. Oh my god. Yeah, it's the worst
00:56:06Yeah, just drink. Yeah
00:56:10Out of the water fountain
00:56:19You
00:56:46Reporting for the voice
00:56:50I
00:56:55Mean lucky enough to be a triple M surf reporter for the last 35 years
00:56:59I'm from probably the greatest city in the galaxy Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia and
00:57:05People recognize my voice around Newcastle. I'll go into a fish and chip shop and someone's like you're that safe report, dude
00:57:10Not me. That's me. And they go you were 17 with curly blonde hair
00:57:14I
00:57:16Think super blessed in life
00:57:18I've got two beautiful healthy children Liam is my son Lani my beautiful daughter and two granddaughters Aubrey and Adeline

01:03:52My name is Ruben de Mello and I'm 31 years old and from Perth I work FIFO work on the mines
01:04:03FIFO work is tough. It's isolating. It's far away from home
01:04:12Can be quite tedious
01:04:15Working on the mines helps me pay the bills
01:04:19But at the same time
01:04:22Keeps me from seeing the family
01:04:32I'm a proud family man
01:04:36My family is definitely 100% my greatest achievement
01:04:42There are moments where I do get caught up in the rut of mining life
01:04:46But I'm always grounded by a great wife and my two boys
01:04:53Their love and laughter and always brings me back to why I do what I do. My family is the reason I live
01:05:04Mom used to sing and my dad played the guitar
01:05:07the little boys love to sing they love the Wiggles and
01:05:11Olivia my wife she also sings
01:05:14So music's around it's definitely is but the first time I've done something like this
01:05:22At the blinds, I'll be singing icy fire by Ed Sheeran
01:05:28I've got a fear of forgetting lyrics. So when the nerves kick in if anything go wrong will be be lyrically I
01:05:37Don't want to be working in the mines forever. I'd like to be present for the growth of my kids
01:05:44This could allow me to make music my full-time job
01:05:48I want it pretty bad. I want this pretty bad
01:06:18You
