00:00We hope that the GMA Kapuso Foundation will always have hope and support to provide assistance to our countrymen in need.
00:16We hope that the GMA Kapuso Foundation's projects will be reviewed again in more than a year's time.
00:23During the time of El Niño, or during the time of the strong effects of La Niña,
00:33what were the disasters and calamities?
00:36The GMA Kapuso Foundation always remembers that from January 2023 to July 2024,
00:45more than 260,000 individuals, including 65,113 families, were given assistance in Operation Bayanihan.
00:58Among the relief goods, hygiene kits, and feeding programs we have,
01:04the ones affected by the eruption of Volcano Mayon in June 2023,
01:11Volcano Canlaon in June,
01:16Magnitude 7.4 earthquake in Surigao del Sur,
01:21and a large-scale oil spill in Oriental Mindoro in March 2023.
01:27Almost a thousand people were given food packs in the various fires in the country.
01:35We were also able to build a new and strong 50-meter steel high-end bridge in Mabinay, Negros, Oriental.
01:43We are also currently building a bridge in Oriental Mindoro.
01:48The GMA Kapuso Foundation also supports the dream of the students.
01:54That is why in 2023, we were able to build eight Kapuso classrooms,
02:00and two in Benguet in 2024.
02:03We also went to our fellow countrymen in poor and remote areas of the country
02:09to give bags and school supplies.
02:12120,000 students benefited from our first step in the Kinamukasan Project.
02:20We also have a health program,
02:23and within more than a year, we helped 8,428 individuals.
02:31We were able to provide wheelchairs, arm and hand prostheses,
02:35glasses for the eyes, and prostheses.
02:37We also have a free medical check-up.
02:40Under our Values Formation Program,
02:4363,256 people were able to benefit from our Give-a-Gift Ally in the Batang Pinoy Project,
02:53Kapuso Cancer Champions,
02:55and Kapuso ng Kalikasan,
02:57where we plant trees,
03:00we also have a bloodletting project,
03:02and the Philippine Red Cross,
03:05where we were able to collect 8,653 blood bags.
03:10Kapuso, our fellow countrymen,
03:13our projects were able to reach 1,000,000.
03:16And I hope that in the coming months and years,
03:20we will continue to be true Kapuso.
03:26Kapuso, all of this was made possible
03:29because of our help and generosity.
03:32That is why we are so thankful
03:35for the unwavering support of our sponsors, donors,
03:39partners, volunteers, and Kapuso celebrities.
03:43You can count on us to continue providing help
03:47to the GMA Kapuso Foundation for those in need.
03:51Just a few weeks have passed
03:53after the floods in Manalasang, Baguio, and Abagat,
03:56but the people of Bataan and Cavite are still suffering.
04:01In particular, the fishermen who were also affected by the oil spill.
04:05They were left with the help of the GMA Kapuso Foundation
04:09under the Bayanihan Operation.
04:15Aside from Pinsalang,
04:17Aside from Pinsalang,
04:19Baguio, Carina, and Abagat,
04:21for the fishermen in Bataan,
04:23the oil spill was a new trial for them
04:26after the M.T. Terranova flood.
04:29It had a big effect on us
04:31in the past few days,
04:33just like the flood that passed,
04:35and it was also followed by the Burj that flooded.
04:39Because of the fear of the fishermen,
04:42Because of the fear of the fishermen,
04:45the losses of fishermen like Raymundo are already big.
04:50It's a bit painful because
04:54last time there was no oil spill,
04:57it reached 200 to 250 per kilo.
05:01Now, almost half of it is gone.
05:03This is also what the residents of Cavite,
05:07like Juvie, are facing.
05:11Abagat and Carina destroyed their house
05:14and also reached their place in Pinsalang
05:18because of the oil spill.
05:19I can't swim anymore.
05:21I don't know how to budget.
05:22It's hard because of the oil spill.
05:25Our boats are floating
05:28and we can't sell our fish.
05:31GMA Kapuso Foundation immediately
05:34contacted Limay Bataan and Rosario Cavite
05:37to deliver food packs for 8,000 individuals
05:41who were affected by the oil spill.
05:44They can't really afford to fish
05:48so their livelihood was affected.
05:51That's also the support they are giving to their families.
05:54Thank you very much to GMA Foundation
05:58that we were able to help here.
06:00It's really hard for us, ma'am.
06:03Just like us here,
06:06we are just on the other side of the sea.
06:09Thank you very much
06:11to our fellow countrymen
06:14and because of you,
06:16we were able to help 1,000 fishermen.
06:21There are many people in the country
06:23who need blood.
06:25According to the Philippine Red Cross,
06:27that's why GMA Kapuso Foundation
06:29and the Red Cross are working together
06:32through our Sagip Dugtong Buhay Bloodletting Project.
06:39It's hard for an OFW to get sick
06:43especially when they are far away from their families
06:46like the former OFW, Ramon.
06:49In 2012, he had a problem with his urination
06:53while he was working in Korea.
06:56Thankfully, the Korean Red Cross helped him
07:00who went under for a laboratory test and procedure.
07:04I got sick.
07:06According to the doctor in Korea,
07:08my urination was blocked.
07:10His experience was what made him realize
07:13the importance of donating blood.
07:16When he returned to the Philippines in 2017,
07:21he donated blood 11 times
07:25for our bloodletting activities.
07:28I didn't hesitate
07:30because it's my life.
07:32I told myself
07:34that I would return the favor
07:36if I could donate blood.
07:40If you have a good heart,
07:43don't hesitate to donate blood.
07:46On Saturday, August 17,
07:48we invite you to join
07:50the Sagip Dugtong Buhay Bloodletting Project
07:54of GMA Kapuso Foundation
07:56in the Ever Commonwealth.
07:58Blood donation is very important
08:00because in the Philippines,
08:02we have a high demand for blood.
08:04We have a lot of patients
08:06who undergo surgery
08:08or have surgery
08:10for those who are sick.
08:12To clarify,
08:14blood donors
08:16can donate blood
08:18as long as they are examined
08:20by a doctor and have a tattoo.
08:22They can still give blood
08:24but if it's a new tattoo,
08:26it needs to be done after one year.
08:28People with hypertension or diabetes
08:31can donate blood
08:33provided on that day, controlled.
08:35Their blood pressure is normal
08:37and their laboratory tests are normal.
08:39Kapuso, let's meet
